What happened to Nexus 6p 7.1.2 full image? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What happened to Nexus 6p 7.1.2 full image?
Why is it not on beta website?

It never was there, Google hasn't released it.

Almost posted the same Q today. Why didn't Google post an image despite releasing it OTA? What does that say for the next beta release for the 6P... what, we have to wait weeks after the Pixel line and then run around with butterfly nets, relying on another beta user to cap an OTA link? This beta release fixed a long time (October 2016) BT connection issue for thousands, and I was glad to get it but had to first wait, and then jump through hoops to get it. Very poor PR, IMO.

Well I have just installed March image, so I guess no beta this round

Quick question about the security update

I have now run across several 6p users who are part of the Android beta program who have not received the OTA security patch for September. I'm curious if this is just random or if there is a trend to be found here. So, if you are on the developer preview program, have you received your security patch yet?

Seriously? First, Nougat OTA was only released a couple weeks ago, so I'd expect the earliest security patch to be October. Second, since there is all kinds of speculation about the full Nougat factory image not being released (hardware, software, something special when Google makes their Pixel announcement), they aren't going to get multiple OTA security releases ahead on their flagship device, for which they haven't even put out a full factory image yet.
It's a simple question, the September security patch did go live 2 days ago, so it is not a question of if it coming, it is a specific question about 6p users on the developer preview program. Not even a serious one, I'm just curious.
No update here

Now that 6P has been EOLed till when can we expect updates?

Google has removed 6P and 5X from its store.
I suppose this signal a specific clock that starts ticking now.
What's the official policy?
By the way, I read that 7.1 won't come as final version till next year. So much for speedy updates Google. Way to betray customers trust.
Simple search would give you this on EOL.
www.xda-developers.com/google-publishes-end-of-life-for-nexus-devices
So Security updates till September 2018 and major releases till September 2017.
I guess 7.1 will be the end of it.
Actually no. O will be the final Android OS update officially from Google. You will need to rely on the community starting from P.
XDA will save the Day!
Both the Nexus 5X & 6P will be stuck on the back burner now while Google put's all it's effort into these new overpriced phones of theirs, so much for having a Nexus for speedy updates as that will now be a thing of the past, we have to wait for 7.1 & it wouldn't surprise me if we probably get a half hash chucked together version aswell.
In another post I said i was going to keep my nexus 6P till it either dies or looses it support, I'm actually tempted now to get a Note 7 one that doesn't explode which is cheaper than a Pixel XL
Dissapointed
I pondered getting a 6P (from an S7 Ege) until now. Not sure it's worth it now that The Google Pixels are out. Software support for the Nexus devices will probably be an afterthought now.
Will then rather go for a Note 7. I'd rather wait 6 months for a OS update while rocking a phone with some pretty decent features...and that S Pen...! GIF mania!
What I won't do is walk around with a phone that people would continuously think is an I Phone.

Android 7.1

Just wanted to share this good news, Nexus 6 will be getting 7.1 in December, Google said this
At the final release of the Android 7.1.x platform, due in early December, we’ll roll out updates to the full lineup of supported devices — Nexus 6, 5X, 6P, 9, Player, Pixel C, and supported Android One devices — as well as Pixel and Pixel XL devices.
Yes, indeed! Here' the link
Also note:
"If you want to receive the Developer Preview automatically, visit Android Beta and enroll your device. If you previously enrolled a device and haven’t unenrolled, your device will receive the update. If you already enrolled but don’t want to receive the update, visit Android Beta to unenroll the device as soon as possible."
I'll be leaving my device in the beta program and watching for system updates...
Google says that the preview will start off supporting only the Nexus 5X, 6P, and the Pixel C. Other devices will be added to the preview as it progresses.
Haizz, my Shamu is not in the list of end Oct
Good news, even though (as I've said before) I doubt I'll see much difference.
Is there any news anywhere about the preview system images for sideloading? Will we actually have to wait for the final OTA?

That's what it looks like. No preview, just final 7.1 for us. That's fine for me.
It won't be a big deal, but there are a couple of nice features.

"Initially, we’ll offer the Developer Preview for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixel C devices, extending to other supported devices by the end of the preview."
I have a shockingly bad memory. Were the previews not provided as OTA images during the beta period? Duh... I'm old...

As I remember it, they were, both as OTA-s, and full images on the beta site.
So you have a bad memory too...?
That would be ideal, but I shan't hold my breath. As I say so often, the differences I see from one version to the next are so minimal that the only change is in my head, not in the phone. Nevertheless, being on the bleeding edge is exciting. Maybe I should get out more...

Still no November Update Push

We're 8 days from December, but the Nov update still has not been pushed to my 6P. The device had been on the beta program, but I un-enrolled it in October. Currently on Android 7.0. My Nexus & Pixel devices have never been delayed this long.
i got mine a while ago. Bell canada

When you opt out of the beta program it won't push any OTA updates. You have to side load it via ADB. If you stay you can just wait for the public release that will come via OTA even when you're opt into the beta program. That's all from what I've been reading when I couldn't figure out why I haven't been getting updates.

Or unlock bootloader and flash images manually every month. Then root. Then become a flash junky!!!

I opted out because I didn't want 7.1 yet. Seems bizarre that it will no longer push if you opt out. Almost like Google stabbing you in the back, leaving you exposed to whatever security problems are later patched.

Nexus 6P enrolled in beta still no 7.1.2

Hey guys,
My Nexus 6P has been enrolled in the ABP since release and has not had any issues getting updates until now. I'm not sure why it hasn't gotten the update yet. It HAS gotten the Feb security patch, but it's still on 7.1.1. My Pixel XL got the 7.1.2 update without any issues as well. Any ideas?

Really? it looked like all of the articles I read said it had been released to all Pixel and current nexus models (5x and 6p).
Maybe I just misread it?
