Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, but I thought that out of the box the bootanimation would play the DROOIIIID sound byte. I haven't seen this since it I started swapping roms. Anyone know how to get this back?
i believe you were hearing the sd card notification, where the default sound would have been droid right out of the box.
may be wrong though
It was part of the original boot animation, sbf'ing and using root explorer to find boot animation.zip in system/media will get it back but here's the link to the download: http://www.mediafire.com/?y3tvq34aboutinj,
not sure if its complete. Unzip it and open the desc.txt file with text editor. The sound file is the Droid.ogg file. The desc.txt file also contains guidelines for changing or customizing the sound file or other files. This can also be done in absolute system app by importing the bootanimation.zip and opening the bootanimation.zip editor and then using the desc.txt editor. Both ways can be used to adjust size, fps, loop properties and sounds. I will write up an instruction thread and post it in the dev forum once I successfully create a custom (sound).ogg file and apply it to a bootanimation.zip and get it to work.

Hello guys,
You know this too? You want a new bootanimation for your Samsung Device, but then you realize you cant use Bootanimation.zip files?
Well thats really sad and i had this Problem a long time. BUT now i know how to make .qmg files and i dont want to use it only for myself so i open
this Service for all now. You can now transform bootanimation.zip files to .qmg files. Easy, Free and Fast.
How to start?
Well i will transform it for you, please never forget this that i make this with my own hands and a Programm ^^ so it cant be instant ready.
So you need: Mediafire OR 4Shared (I would use 4Shared), a bootanimation.zip file with all the 3 Parts in it (part0, part1, part2) and some patience ^^.
First of all send me the Link to the Bootanimation.zip file. I will open them and transform them into .qmg files. But please remember:
part0 will be bootsamsung.qmg
part1 will be bootsamsungloop.qmg
part2 will be shutdown.qmg
So please keep this in mind.
What will happen now?
Your brandnew Bootanimation will be reworked by me and then send to you.
I will answer your Post with the Link to download the qmg files they will be put together in a .rar file btw.( it will be a 4Shared Link so grab 4Shared)
It only takes 1 or 2 Days most of the time. If i need more time i will message you (For example if i have to learn for a Test)
How to use this Files now?
Well there are 2 Ways the
Easy Noob way: Download this App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tkstudio.sboot&hl=de give the app Root permission (YES YOU NEED ROOT) and then go to where the files are. and select them in the right order ^^ easy right?.
and the
Pro Funny way: get ES File Explorer copy all the 3 .qmg files and put them to /system/media. Then select every single .qmg animation and go to Properties. Change the permissions to rw- r- r- and ready.
Now restart your Phone and you are fine with your new bootanimation ^^
BUT I WANT SOUND, TOO. HOW CAN I GET THIS?
Well you dont even have to send me the File. You need Es File Explorer for it btw
Just cut a small part from your favourite song or Sound Effect and rename it PowerOn.ogg . Now move it to /system/media/audio/ui and keep pressing on it until the little bar on the bottom appear. Go to More>Properties and change Permissions to rw- r- r- ( At read check all Ticks. And at write check the first tick)
Thats all now restart Phone and enjoy sound!
I Hope you like my service and will use it ^^

I edited the platform.xml file to try to get read/write permission for the sd card, but I managed to mess up the platform.xml file. Now, the tablet bootloops a couple of times, then goes into TWRP. I'm trying to figure out how to fix or replace the platform.xml file. When I use the file manager in TWRP, I can't find the platform.xml file. It's supposed to be in /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml but that location doesn't exit. Does anybody have a suggestion about how to get this fixed? Source files or just a clean platform.xml file would probably do the trick.
Any suggestions appreciated.

edit: Never mind: I found the file and used TWRP file manager to fix it.
I'm trying to modify some layout files in SystemUI.apk and the apktool(v2.3.1) gives no errors in decompiling.
But when I try to recompile it, apktool give these errors,
Code:
No marked region found along edge.
Found along left edge.
The error is caused by "pip_dismiss_scrim.9.png" file.
I didn't try to modify any of these png files. I just changed only an xml file.
How to successfully decompile/recompile this apk?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
