So, I tried to download the latest version of Google play services thinking that I could get Google assistant. Well, that didn't work and now Google play services keeps crashing. Anyone know the correct (stock & current) version of Google play services 10.2.98 for the DT2 running 7.0?
Thanks.
I did the same with the same results. I wound up doing a factory reset to clear it. Wasn't a big deal, been wanting to since I upgraded to Nougat.
My question is why does my version say it was installed in 1970?

I guess the app can't see the install time so it's defaulting to 0 epoch time which would be Jan 1970.

Dear Bad Luck... Let’s break UP.
Silly question: Is your device time accurate? If it's off by more than 5-10 minutes, Google Play stops functioning. (Don't ask me why, it's always done that.)

I dont remember what was the error. I have cleaned cache and data. Also uninstalled the updates on the app.
Now after few seconds of opening play store it just crashes withoiut any message.
Is there any way i can reinstall it without reflashing the rom.
Edit: here is the screenshot of error.

Does anyone have a working method of getting rid of this?
I've tried a few suggestions from around the Web but no luck.
Really irritating. Any alternative way to install it with TWRP?

Just a security update unfortunately, but haven't a clue how to get rid of it. I'd like to install it, but can't with root.

Nothing you can do, the price we pay for being rooted
If you just want to get rid of the annoying notification message then go to Settings >> Notifications >>> Select show system apps under menu >>> Google Services Framework >> Toggle all notifications to off.
You can manually update to the latest version without wiping your data. You will need to already have an unlocked bootloader though and will need to re-rrot. Instructions can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928

Hi Guys,
Every Android device irrespective of the brand has updated the Play store and its logo has changed too. But when I try to update the same in my Moto G4 it says that the Play store is up to date. I can't recall which version it was saying. Any way to force update it?
Thanks
