Hi everybody!
2 days ago, my HD2/WP7 told me that its security settings had been changed, and that I had to set up a lock password. I couldn't do anything else so I did it, but now every time I want to unlock my screen it asks for a password and I don't like it at all.
The switch in parameters to disable it is grey, so I can't turn it off.
It appened not long after my hotmail account had been blocked for I don't know what reason (I unlocked it easily, but still not really stable)
Any idea what is going on? How to change that?
My phone is not unlocked (WP7 "original")
Thanks!
here is the thing .. I want to keep the fingerprint lock for apps via applock app but the thing is it asks me to setup the fingerprint in phone settings. but doing so it setups a lockscreen for my whole phone I dont want to do that . is there any workaround for saving the fingerprint without keeping the lockscreen ..? ..
you folks might ask why would you do that? here is the story " One of my friends had a bike accident and he was spot dead. the thing is they couldn't find a person who knows my friend he kept his phone locked so no one could call .. it took 4 hours to track his parents."
So seeing this i don't want to lock my phone , you know just in case something like this happened to me.. but i dont want my friends to creep around my phone . the app lock does the job .. but now I'm missing the fingerprint feature in my Moto G4 plus. please help ..! sorry for the long post
I have been unable to open the lock screen and security in the settings. Every time I open it, the settings close. I even started my galaxy s8 in safe mode and still nothing. I can't change my screen lock or change anything related to security. Any ideas on what could be causing this. It's been happening since last two updates.
Factory reset should cure that
Hi everyone.
This morning I woke up and about to answer my text but once I tried to unlock the phone by the fingerprint, it won't respond and shows the message "The fingerprint sensor is not responding, try again later." So I decide to unlock by the pattern which is a simple 4 dots pattern that I've been using for more than 6 years so it can't be wrong. But the device said "Incorrect pattern" for 5 times until it lock itself for 30 seconds.
As far as I've known I didn't update or install any suspicious apps either. No Anti-Virus, No Cleaner No root and anything just FB and some games that are unharm. I didn't change the security settings for like years since it was already safe. I haven't set the smart lock or anything either. The way to unlock my phone is only fingerprint and pattern only. No tricks.
I've manage to unlock by restart the phone on the lock screen and manage to get in by that pattern that I've been using and the fingerprint sensor came back to work.
My question is what can cause this to happened? Is it a bug?
Side Note:
Scenario 1: My aunt's Galaxy Note 8 happened as well. But my aunt's phone doesn't even have a password lock or fingerprint set up because she doesn't leave the house much and she got nothing to lose on her phone. One day she install a mobile banking app and the bank staff asked her to put set up a lock screen security so she set to the password that she can remember and writes it down on the note in case she forgets.
When she came back home and she tries to unlock the phone it said incorrect password many times I even try to fix it for her but no luck until we solve it by unlocking it with Find My Mobile.
Scenario 2: My colleague's Galaxy J7 also encountered the security problem where he can't use his own password to unlock his phone but that's because he install some phony app called "Samsung Max" which is not made by Samsung but he thought it was the Samsung's app. I don't know what the app can do but it seems that it some sort of cleaner app. I've read the comment in the Play Store and saw that someone was like "Thanks a lot Samsung (implies Samsung) this app save me more space" and the dev replies back like "Thanks a lot" (won't denied that he wasn't an actual Samsung company)
Can apps even change the security settings on people phones these days? I've haven't visit XDA for many years since when I was having fun rooting my Galaxy S2.
What's your opinion?
Happened to my sister's note 4 before, and since then she don't use fingerprints in fear she gets locked out. Use Samsung find my device and unlock the phone. It didn't happen to her since then (around 2 4 years)
Hi,
So I tried to root my phone and made a meal of it tripped my knox. No big deal I flashed it back with an original file but here's my newest problem.
I set pinlock and then when I come out settings lock screen it changes back to swipe. Same for every security setting so I cannot lock my device.
Also on a side note my battery since putting back to original drains like crazy even with battery saving mode active all the time.
Any tips?
Any advice at all ...
