I bought an used s7edge which was rooted. I didnt know that and noticed it really late to do something about.
It worked perfeclty for a month until one day i recived the "Custom binary blocked by frp", i googled it and i had to flash a new room (something i never did, so this is my first time with root issues).
The problem is that i cannot find a room that works. I canot make calls or have data. I have 4/5 signals bar but no data.
I tested a few roms, 6.0 and 7.0 but the problem is always the same.
I have a sm 935f from argentina, i tested roms from my country and one stock from this forum. The problem keeps being the same.
What can i do ?
What could be the problem? The phone may be blocked? It worked before so i dont know..

I never rooted the s7 edge, but I do have the tmobile s7 edge. I have had the note 3 and 4 and I rooted both devices. There are lots of different rom and different procedures to root a device. I suggest you make a YouTube search or go into xda developers Web site and post a article or look for someone that has had the same problem. You can also try quora, it's a app where you post and ask for help from experts in the field.
Good luck I hope this helps.
I have had also jailbroken my iPhone before.

You need to download your devices official Firmware from Sammobile and Use Odin to return your device to stock condition.
It isn't hard to do.
Search the S7E questions and trouble shooting section for Guides to do so there are several.

Check your IMEI I bet it's missing and if you have no EFS Backup it's very difficult to retrieve it
There's also a guide to do that as well.

When searching for a network, it finds the 3 ones available in my country but doesnt let me connect to mine.
Which one of these do you recommend me trying?

Guys, sadly i couldnt fix the problem. I payd some guy to do it, but he didnt explain me what he did exactly. He only told me i cannot upgrade it to 7.0 which i hate. I would love to do it. He also told me the IMEI was actually damaged and he had to recover it.
The phone now has the SuperSU app and ADB Shell on it, which it didnt have before, so i assume he used it to make it work
Do you know if there is a workaround to get android 7.0 or to know what to do in case the phone gets some error or something?

Hey guys, another question here.
Ive been watching arters thread for some time now and i have yet to see anyone there post with the model [SM-G928P]. This model pertains to the sprint verison i currently hold but was wondering if anyone else with this model has been able to somehow root the phone?
Completely dumbfounded at how many models and versions sammy has released with this phone. Or maybe im the unlucky one and have the only P version in the world
Not complaining but was just curious is all.
arter97 said that he won't support Sprint.
Also as far as I know Sprint and Verizon has locked bootloader and when you root the phone, you won't be able to turn it on again.

Sprint can be rooted. It is not yet. See Sprint Note 5 dev thread for the "possibilities " The sprint s6e+ phone should have the same rootabilty as the Sprint note 5.

Thats sad to hear. Also i thought it was AT&T and Verizon with the locked bootloaders? Or was i mistaken?
Oh yeah sorry.
arter97 said he doesn't want to develop it for CDMA Devices, which is Sprint. So, someone MAY come up with root.
Hi
your answer is right and i am agree with this.Thank you for your informative task .
Thats sad to hear. It seems like a great start for the S6E+ however. Hopefully us CDMA users can join the party soon enough. Thanks for the info on arter AK. Appriciate it.

Only method available at the moment is temp root via King Root. And it must be reactivated upon each device reboot.

I tried King root and it said it cannot root the phone. I have Feb 21 build of the 5.1.1 rom.
I think, Galaxy J3 serie is not capable for root. No cfautoroot database is not available for this device. But root may be possible on Galaxy J5 and J7.

Hi i am a user of samsung J3- SMJ320F(Bangladesh). Few days ago i had tried to root my phone using odin. I eanbled TWRP. FLASHED SUPER SU. After flashing my phone gone into bootloop. And sadness is I couldn't find any Firmware on any website for free for my device. so, i had to repair my device in a random shop; And they flashed SAUDI ARABIA FIRMWARE On my phone. And it cost me almost 3$ ....so, If there's any solution please let me know because i cant use my phone without root. and these bloatwares are really irritating. so anyone?

What it do folks. First of all, THANK YOU and I apologize. I dabble a bit more with my devices now and Ive had a lot more success then previous years and that would be due to the hard work you "techies" have dedicated and shared. So thank you for all the grueling and frustrating progress put in. I feel like I'm there with guys. As for my apology, I'm lost on singling out individuals that should recieve their just do. My bad. This is my first ever reply sort of like finally getting my feet on the steps in a refreshing icy summertime lake that holds now bounds. No brakes cause my foot is stuck on the gas.
I've rooted a few devices with KingRoot, KingoRoot PC edition was a success, and now the flag-ware Odin3(any version) takes the crown along with TWRP got my J327P 2016 from BST voided due to the cracks root has invaded with passion.
I thrive from any and all feedback and refuse to accept thats not possible or it cannot be done phrase; all I hear is "challenge accepted!" Please let me know if I'm not in the correct area for ranting but again thank you for all the knowledge and by all means charge on the great work!:good:
Would Anyone Like To Post Detailed Instructions On How To Flash The "U FIRMWARE"? .. Also (if possible) could someone include all the necessary files & give any details on the firmware (i.e. Pros or Cons).. I've seen it mentioned in a few other threads, with some people making claims that it's much smoother, also the root is more stable on that firmware. But I can't seem to find a dedicated thread on it. So if there's one out there post the link or feel free to comment instructions, any useful instructions will be added to the OP

Hi, here's something from our friends with a Verizon s7 edge, they've written a step by step on how to flash the U firmware and what to do afterwards. What You and us t-mobile users need to flash is SM- G935U (TMO region) firmware which u can find on sammobile.com. Please read the instructions carefully and best of luck with flashing. Cheers!

Keep in mind there's also a lot in here that doesn't pertain especially if you don't need root so be careful people, this as Mag says is for Verizon but the process is the same just make sure you have the T-Mobile files if on T-Mobile. You can download at SamMobile I have a SM-G935T which is now a G35U with the new modem APK1 and have wifi calling and VOLTE in my mobile network settings and ZERO bloat which is why U firmware is desired. It doesn't have any carrier bloat because it's not for any carrier so none have installed all their bloat so it's very fast. You will lose root and everything but can redo it and reroot also.. just make sure you're getting the right files and not flashing VZW on to T-Mobile etc etc. I ALMOST did then realized lol. I Got excited. I was never going to root so none if that mattered but I tried it and after all the suggested tweaks and fixed it still ran unacceptable for me so I'm not rooted at all now. Too buggy and too many weird FCs and errors/bugs so I factory rest and flashed U and new modem and my phone has never been faster even when rooted and CPU setting tweaked etc. (Too many bugs as stated)

No because you're flashing an official firmware not a rom. No root and won't trip Knox as other have reported. This is true for all variants since it's an official firmware.

Prob not. Many people including me have done ALL of the post root modifying to make it run better when rooted with very little success. I tried every single post root method to try and get it stable and nothing made a difference and if it did it sure wasn't stable anyways. So bad that I Reodined the entire thing and started fresh and didn't root. The root is very unstable and simply not worth it. I don't need root for anything I care about anyway and my S7 Edge is plenty fast. and running the U firmware there's no bloat except like 2-3 apps which I can live with and that was one major reason to root anyway (to delete the bloat) so meh to root for me.... If you read back many have reported this. I don't need nor want root and when I saw how bad it ran I immediately re did it all. Now it's lightning fast, I get amazing LTE speeds because if the APK1 MODEM and I'm in one if the 319 cities supporting the 4x4 MIMO LTE that the APJ1 Takes advantage of. My LTE is faster than most people's wifi. So I recommend d regarding the Odin and forgetting about root. It's just too buggy and I'm by no way a noob. Been here fir 10 years so I know what I'm doing and I couldn't get it stable enough even applying every single post root suggestion. It ran like crap and wasn't even usable unfortunately. No offense to the root team whatsoever they achieved root and kudos to them it's just not established enough to be a daily driver sorry to say.
My latest LTE speed abiut 20 mins ago. Not wifi....LTE..LOL it's amazing if yoyre in T-Mobile and you're in one if the cities supporting it. I imagine everywhere in the US will sooner or later it most cities. It's relatively new but I'm getting speeds unheard of. Before this I was getting like 10 mbps download and 8 Mbps upload
Not it's more like 6p-70 and 40-70 depending in where in my city I am. It varies deoending on how close to towers and what not you are if course. But damn it's fast.. wow

is there a way to install this U firmware and then simply root it and not install all the other junk? I love it running U stock with the new modem because it HAULS ass, but I want to root so I can edit the build.prop and since you have to be rooted that's hay I ask. But the root causes all kinds of issues and post -root stuff needs to happen to get it even stable which none worked for me, a few did but it ran horrible so I immediately returned to stock and redid the U firmware. so is the something like a way to just root for file access only without it modifying anything else? I doubt it but don't know much abut the U firmware except it runs amazing until rooted at least from everything I'm reading. a couple peeps claim there's is running amazing even rooted but I have doubts...mine ran like total crap even after applying all the tweaks and kernel settings with Trickster and the like (which I know how to use very well and bought it and have owned and used it for years....any ideas? I want to edit the lcd from 640 to about 580 is all and don't want to root if it's going to bork everything up again...

Hi -
I am a person that just has to have his phone rooted. Dont ask me why, but I do. And I love custom ROMS. Since I do not really see any custom ROMS for the S7 yet,
I will settle for just rooting my S7, I was hopping someone would be kind enough to point me to the correct files needed to ROOT my phone and maybe a small odin walkthrough.
Phone info:

Hi? Is it possible to downgrade to PB5 from the U firmware? I learnt latest stock got bootloader locked, so can't downgrade
faslane said:
is there a way to install this U firmware and then simply root it and not install all the other junk?
TIA

Follow the instructions in the O.P. of the post-root issues *exactly*. Don't skip anything and don't add anything. Trickster is not listed in it. I followed it exactly and my rooted U just plain smokes!

The answer to both of these is that since the bootloader is locked, you can't install custom recoveries which makes custom Roms a lot harder (but not impossible!) There's two that are in the Roms subforum (TEK and Echoe) but I've personally found stock U firmware + root to be the fastest/most stable.

Is your reason for "have to have root" for a specific reason or no? This root us really laggy and buggy as hell so if I were you I wouldn't do it. There's no Roms really. Well two I think but it's going to be more if a headache than the benefit of root. No one "has" to have root. What do you need that's so important by rooting. That's silly....

I'm not sure bud. I LOVE the U firmware and the APK1 modem for Tmobile have made my LTE VERY fast and the U firmware as well with ZERO bloat. I wouldn't downgrade anyway but can't answer your question, I simply don't know. Are you on ATT or something? I haven't heard of that firmware even...but I've been on Tmobile for about 6 years or so...

i have just tried this method on my N910V but it does not pass the samsung screen for over 20 minutes. In fact H-vitamin kernel has not worked for me since M5.

Completely FALSE. You are misinformed. When it comes to csc configurations and APN's, Sprint and VZW have many differences.... hence the reason the "fix" failed to work for your VZW N4 on VZW network. You would be better off using a rom and/or fixes for the VZW model instead of Sprint.

BeastMode r 61 is a Sprint kernel. The kernel mentioned in the OP is not specifically for the Sprint N4 therefore I recommend not using it on the Sprint Variant. For wifi not working... make sure your firmware has been updated to the correct version which matches the kernel being used. For Sprint N4 I recommend using Sprint kernel & bootloader as well as the Sprint variant libs and modules for wifi, which Ketan's rom is not based on. Using other variant port roms is gonna have issues on the Sprint N4 depending on the chipset, firmware version, compatible kernel, etc.

Since it is specifically for GSM compatibility it will probably work as long as you update your APN's to those for your specific carrier. However, being that the OP stated that he used my SMS sending fix, I can tell you that fix is specific for the USA Sprint configuration. So it may or may not work for other networks, especially out of the country.
I recommend using an international GSM port if you're using your phone on another network in another country. They are more compatible with other GSM networks and the csc will also be more compatible as long as the rom includes the various csc for numerous networks. The problem with port roms that do not include the correct csc and apn's etc is that they are tied specifically to the network in which the dev intended the rom to work on. It is up to the dev or someone else to come up with alternate csc etc to work around the external software network configurations. But keep in mind that there is also more to network configurations that reside inside of critical system framework and system files so 100% network compatibility may never be achieved depending on the rom's original network setup. This stuff can be quite confusing for those who aren't aware of what is is involved.

It depends on the network and if the CDMA bands are compatible with the SM-N910P. If you are on Dr.Ketan's rom then it should work on other networks as long as the bands supported by the Sprint SM-N910P. But you will need to add the APN's for the network you are using outside of the U.S. You will probably need to have the correct csc values for your carrier also. You may need to change roaming settings and network mode. All of these things are the key areas to look at.

Hi
I bought an S8 G950U unlocked with Android 8 , it was working perfect as normal connecting to 4G(LTE) and 3G in Algeria.
The day that i upgrade it to android 9 , i wasn't able to connect to 4G and to use mobile hotspot.
I brought my phone to a repairer he flashed my phone and it stucks in "Galaxy S8" screen and loops.
i used odin to flash ADP with firmware (csc: CHA) , it enters to android and it reads the sim in 2G but i can,t reach neither 4G nor 3G.
i think he erased the NAND because the serial number and model number are not true.
and i've other problem, the dial codes like *#06# or *#0011# doesn't work.
idon't know what i should i do. please Help

try another cable, reboot your machine, get a new fresh download (dont go directly to sammobile.cim to get it, get the Frija tool or Samfirm, they take literally 1/5th the time to download the firmware sets), try a different computer, uninstall the drivers and let windows reinstall them when you connect your phone, is ADB installed system wide? if not, there is a small tool to do it for you

how those "they" we haven't samsung service , we have just some stores that sell phones and they can "repair" them
they says to me that they don't knows about american samsung (something that i love because of snapdragon)
thank you for all your effort to help me
Nand erase does not wipe IMEI.
And rewriting isn't discussed on XDA

the "they" is the repair shop you had work on it. its hard to know how to un-do what they did if we dont know what they did
i also cant imagine a repair shop that can work on Exynos S9s competently but not snapdragon ones
