A lot of users have complained about the efficacy of that application, it lead to too many bootloops.
But in your scenario you need to do a factory reset by holding "volume up + power button" till you see huawei logo.....you'll lose all data on internal storage including any previously installed, or updated apps.

Volume up + power button, should NOT install you any package at all, it has to go to either custom or stock recovery,I will assume that you're not touching the volume down at the same time while you're doing this right?
Edit:
Updating from to B161 via dload method must have reinstalled the factor recovery, so this is where you can find the factory reset option.
But if you do choose to install a custom recovery, voiding warranty temporarily, you need Meticulus TWRP for marshmallow since it's ur base system, this you can install via fastboot after unlocking it.

Use TWRP to factory reset, if that fails too, get the recovery file from the update package, extract just this file, then install it via TWRP by installing/flashing file(*.img) instead of zip, find this button in TWRP, just tap it to change to file and browse for the recovery.img, then after go to stock recovery by selecting reboot to recovery in TWRP...then try again to factory reset, if that file don't work Or fails, I'll send you my VNS-L31 MM Stock recovery for B161, of this is your device too, then you'll lemme know.

So I successfully unlocked bootloader and installed back TWRP however i can't make fully factory reset as TWRP fail to mount /data when i do factory reset (and i can't even mount my data through MTP on TWRP). Should i tried to flash another package like full b150 through dload or i absolutely need to try factory reset on stock recovery ?

To mount data go to swipe, advanced swipe, select data partition only, then change filesystem, then select f2fs, then repeat this but NOW selecting ext4, then flash what you need to , to the data partition, if this is leads to boot loop after, then reinstall stock recovery then factory reset, then you'll b good

hey guys! first post but I have been lurking here and there before registering.
Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in. I am trying to root my note 4 and I installed TWRP using Odin. Now when I go into recovery mode to flash SuperSu, it says "no command" with the android guy laying on the floor. I tried the factory reset option and I installed TWRP again but still same problem. I can still load my phone and use it as usual but now I can't go into recovery mode with TWRP and flash supersu to root it. Anyone know how I can fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
No one knows?

What is the model number of your Note 4? When you are at the "no command" screen, try holding the volume up button and then press the power button to take you to recovery. I'd that doesn't work try holding the power button and tapping the volume up button quickly and release all buttons and see if it allows yoj to access recovery. I'd these do not work keep trying different button combinations. I'd you still cannot access the recovery menu you may have to Odin the factory firmware and start over. Let me know what happens.

none of those button combinations work. I will install stock firmware on it again and see if that fixes the recovery.
I had this problem in the past, I think the problem was that when I was installing TWRP via Odin that I had not powered off the phone so it looked like it installed but actually didn't, try taking out the battery and then boot into recovery or download mode whatever it is that is used for Odin and install again

If you cannot get into recovery with any button combination boot to download mode and use Odin to flash all 4 files of the factory firmware. That will give you a fresh start. Let me know how it goes.

Yes it will but it is the most likely way out of your bootloop. Before you wipe, connect your device to your PC and boot to recovery. Once your PC recognizes your device internal storage, transfer everything that you can think of.

That looks like TWRP didn't stick when you flashed it using Odin. Try a different version of Odin and flash TWRP.

So idk if you've gotten it fixed, but what worked for me was: I had been turning on the phone after odin did its thing, and that caused the oem recovery to reinstall itself. So instead of letting odin auto boot be ready to push the volume up button to put it into twrp recovery. I had to remove my battery to keep it from booting fully.
We need to try another time flash. Conditions - old Odin 3.06, configured to remove reboot.

In ODIN go to 'options' and uncheck 'auto-reboot', then flash TWRP. When it's done, it won't reboot, just pull the battery for several seconds, reinsert it and boot into TWRP Recovery.
Enjoy!
When I try to flash any thing it gets stuck on boot.img
Hi all,
I have try to go back to stock by follow this procedure.
- Coming from Official LineageOS
- Wipe cache, dalvik, data via TWRP
- flash bootstack and stock system from here
- restart system and everything work fine except I have an unlocked bootloader
- so I try to lock bootloader by using Axon7Toolkit from this thread
- The phone was restart but unable to boot to android coz it stuck with "Enter passcode" page and I have try any password include "default_password" but still fail
- I try to enter passcode several times till it guide me to factory reset instead to wipe all user data
- but when it try to factory reset, it stuck with a black screen when loading to recovery mode
Luckily, the phone still could enter to Factory Test Mode when I press Volume down + power button and could get on ADB

Okay, glad you got it sorted
Hello, i had a lot of troubles with battery drains recently, by curiosity i wanted to restore my stock backup.
So i did and the phone was stuck during rom boot.
So i wanted to go back to TWRP to fix things but instead it went back to stock recovery.
Okay, so i wanted to flash TWRP again but after flashing the recovery.img,
nothing happens when i enter fastboot reboot
I forced shutdown and re tried many times with other twrp files, always the same issue i cannot reboot with the flashed recovery ! ! !
please HELP
To boot to recovery, shut down the phone, press volume up + power button, when the phone vibrate release the buttons and it will boot to recovery.
The command "fastboot reboot" will just reboot normally the phone.
sorry but my problem is that i cannot reboot in twrp anymore, it always reboot on STOCK recovery !
dunno what to do i got to meet foreign customers tomorrow without my phone i dunno how i'll do, so unlucky it happened to me today
i even tried flashing on another computer, and trying to restore with stock recovery or huawei app but none are working.
to make it clear, i can just fastboot.
so what should i flash to restore/unbrick my phone ? don't care if i lose data, just need to call tomorrow !
edit: some folks say to put update.app in load folder on sd card then boot with the three buttons but which update.app file should i copy ? i got a VNS-L31 should the SD card be in FAT32 ?
Are you sure you flashed TWRP? Try to download it again and flash it from fastboot mode.
yes sure i did it like 20 times this afternoon, i'm trying to fix it for 5 hours lol
in fact i just was able to boot the restore .app while booting with the three buttons, it's installing updates, hope it will fix all the partitions/recovery/boot/system... and all those necessary stuffs
edit: finally huawei animated boot logo is showing UP !

so i restored my stock backup and everything was not working anymore, each i tried flashing it always went back on stock recovery a every reboot, impossible to flash twrp anymore...
looks like the phone is stuck in a boot loop lol pfffft
edit:
FYI what i just tried is restoring this image http://consumer.huawei.com/lk/support/products/downloads/huawei-p9-lite-lk.htm (the first one ASIA) but the phone is still booting looks like a fail, could it be incompatible ?
I see.
If you managed to restore with the update.app and the 3 buttons, everything should be fine. It will take some time to boot up, so just wait for a while. Also the bootloader probably re-locked so you will need to unlock it again.

I think the best thing to do should be a factory reset from recovery, stock is fine, then reboot and wait for 15-20 minutes. If the update.app succefully installed there should be no problem

You have to enter twrp in hard mode to make a factory reset in twrp and not in settings. Do the following:
- Power off
- Press Vol down + Power. When you see LG logo, release power and press and hold it again
- You will see a white screen. Reply Yes twice (it will ask twice)
- it should boot to twrp again
- in twrp go to wipe and swipe slider to make a factory reset
- reboot system
If it still doesn't reboot to system, make everything I said above and reflash rom. But if you didn't mess with system it should reboot ok without reflashing.

Making a factory reset in android settings also make a TWRP loop. What I said above is the way to solve that loop. Now, if you don't any ROM installed, you need to do it. Even without anything installed you can connect your G6 to PC and copy a ROM to be flashed with TWRP.
I've done this several times, not only with G6 but with other phones also. Just boot to TWRP, connect to a PC and use Android File Transfer to copy a ROM to SD or Internal storage. Flash it and reboot.
yes. i try it. twrp loop again. my internal patrition is empty.
i clear cache, flash rom (fulmics, stock, etc) and reboot to system- twrp loop. always.

Did you enter TWRP using the hard method I said above? If you don't, it will not work. Also, make sure you have decrypted data partition
Did you ever had anything else other than stock rom installed and running? If not, and you to run Fulmics you need to format DATA with the format option (not the wipe one) to decrypt it, then install bootloader for V10T and Fulmics 1.5 (this is explained in Fulmics thread).
Anyway, I can assure you that if you proceed as I said on my first reply, and install Fulmics it will boot properly, it's just the way you enter TWRP that it will make a difference, if you don't use the hard method you will not exit the twrp loop.

Hi, everyone.
I have a galaxy s8 SM-G950FD. I have once flashed TWRP and rooted the device successfully.
Then I tried to install a custom ROM but I got bootloop.
After that, I flash official ROM to unbrick my device. But since then, whenever I tried to flash TWRP again I got this message "Verification failed unable to restart your device the integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data."
My device is still working fine but I want to try to flash a new ROM (even if I may brick my device forever). I don't know what to do. Can you guys give me some advice ?
Thank you!
It's quite a simple fix I think: You need to make a backup of the Data partition and then do a wipe using TWRP. This happens because TWRP cannot handle Samsung's Encryption; the only way to bypass this problem is by formatting once again.

If you're stuck in the bootloop you should press the force reboot key combination: Power Down + Home + Power. After the device restarts switch the Volume Down key for the Volume Up key right after the screen goes blank. That should get you into TWRP (if it's correctly installed), otherwise directly into the stock recovery.

I cant flash/get into TWRP. I tried to boot into stock recovery and do a system wipe/factory reset. Then I flash TWRP again but nothing seem to happen. I tried to boot into recovery and it get me to the stock recovery not TWRP.I did unlock OEM, used Odinv3.12, twrp-3.1.1-2-dreamlte.img.tar.
I had the same issue.
After Odin has flashed the Recovery it performs an auto reboot (if checked in Odin). So at this reboot hold Vol up + Home + Power as soon the screen goes of. You need to be quick. Then it should boot into TWRP.
True, Samsung's stock recovery is very persistent lately and if you tick the auto-reboot you have to be very fast in switching to Recovery mode combo.
Otherwise you can choose not to tick auto-reboot, force restart the device after the TWRP flashing was successful and immediately switch to the Recovery combo.
Here you go: two ways of doing this.
