Exactly the same problem here. Last week on Android 6 it would take about 2 1/2 hours to charge the phone from empty to full. Now it takes over 4 hours to get from 40% to full. Don't factory reset, I've tried it, doesn't help. I've also tried charging with the phone off, slow as well.
HIGHLY ANNOYING. If anyone has any tips, please let me know. Maybe worth noting: it signals "cable charging" when plugged in. I think it said fast charging detected on Android 6, but I'm not sure.
Of course I've checked if fast charging is enabled in system settings

My first notice about android 7 it was slower in charging but I thought it was better to preserve the battery.
The other notice I have noted, that the first time I plug the charger it will be normal charging, I remove and plug it again it will be fast charging.
So if you get very slow charging please read the notification if it is fast charging or not, if not remove the charger and plug it again. But it is still slower

Battery Charges Real Slow

After installing android i have had problems with my battery,
it's charging, but real slow! from 10-100% it takes 8-12 hours.
anyone else had this problem? or have a sollution?
It depends on how you are charging it. Charging over USB port always takes longer than over outlet.
If your Android is eating your battery, then loading it via USB will not load it much but hold it more or less at the same level.
Maybe that could explain your problem?
Thanks for your replay. I'm charging via outlet and in winmo now.
and with 85% in android it last 16-18 hours with normal to heavy use.

I've noticed that if the power cord is plugged in and then Android booting, charging is snail slow and doesn't show a charging symbol in the battery icon.
i've been on shubcraftCM6 and charging hasn't been a problem. Probably jumps 10% on AC charger in about 30 minutes, maybe even less. but dont ask... i dont test it. i just know that I use my phone under HEAVY use (data sync on most of the time) and constant fiddling around with and I dont ever run down to <10% by the end of the day.

If you unplug and plug it back, the icon will change. During the bootup, I remember seeing text that said it was turning of battery charging or something like that.
Boot android WITHOUT it being connected to charger. Then when android is fully booted up, then connect the charger.
My battery charges equally as fast while I'm running Android, and doesn't have any trouble charging to the FULL capacity, at 100%.

I boot Android with charger plugged in. Once fully booted I unplug and replug to activate the charging notification. Charging is extremely fast from an ac outlet.
I am draining battery at about 15-20% an hour with heavy usage, buy if charging while using I actually make forward progress on the charge level.
Energy ROM, 2.12 radio, Matt Leo rc1.4 is my current combination.

Mine is slow charging too from wall charger..
So i restart to winmo for charging up, then reboot to android desire v5 at 100% battery level

Brand new Galaxy SII, stuck on "empty battery screen"

Hello,
Just got my SGS2, I played with it for about 10 minutes and the battery died.
I figured it would because it was new and I hadnt charged it yet, so no big deal.
Then I plug it in.
For the last 45 minutes, it has been flashing this screen then going black.
I can't do anything

I wouldn't know, but no new phone is supposed to act like that.
Have you tried pulling the battery or booting into recovery? Also try another usb cable or wall outlet, maybe it's not getting a charge. Make sure the usb port is clean. I'm sorry but I don't have a definitive solution.
I had the same issue after 2 weeks of use when i was on a business trip!!!. I left the phone plugged in overnight and it charged. As far as i remember id displayed full charge next day but actually it was not fully charged (i guess it was about 20%). So after a couple of recharge cycles it worked ok.

I just had this happen today on my ATT Galaxy S II. But what happened was I let the battery almost drain and I had a brand new oem battery that I had charging over night. So with the old battery in I rebooted into recovery wiped battery stats and powered off. I then put the new battery in and when I plugged it in it was stuck at this screen. It seems to be charging though and how you can bypass it is unplug it and just hold the power button down for like 10 seconds it will reboot.
But the question is.. will it go back to normal and show that it's actually charging for everyone? or did some get stuck for good? Since the thread is old I'm sure you guys have either gotten yours replaced or after a while it just started working normally again. So I'm curious on how to fix it. It's happening with both batteries on this phone now but work fine in another phone
May be let it charge and then calibrate your battery

Had the exact same issue when I bought mine... Turned out I had not plugged the battery correctly. Just try removing the battery and put it back.

I got it working again. I think thee might be a bug with CWM or CM when you wipe battery stats/recreates them. I restored to the bone stock rom and the icon started animating again. I restored CM 7 which was the version I wiped the bat stats and it stopped working again. I then just reflashed CM on top and it started working again go figure Thanks guys
I had faced that problem too.Just try plugging out and in the battery and start the phone.Make sure the battery is fixed into it's place. If it is still not working, continue the plug-out and in the battery and start the phone again.Try it for several times. It will work. When i was in that situation,i thought mine was BRICK.Hopefully replugging the battery fixed this problem.
Another situation is when i plug in a fully charged battery,it only shows 60 percent after booting. After replugging the battery,it just got right back to 99.
Good stuff - when I bought my phone, the first charge took so long.
Is it true that the wall charger charges the phone faster than the USB charger? (just something I have noticed).
Thanks

[Q] Battery meter issue since 4.2.2 (stock, no root)

My N7 has turned off twice (seemingly at random, without any warning) since the last update, each time when there was about 20-30% battery remaining according to the device settings. It had never done this before. each time I tried to turn it back on and was unable to, saw a message about battery being too low to turn on and connect to charger. So when it most recently happened last night, I left it plugged in all night (7 hours) on the included charger and when I woke and turned it on it still only showed about 65% charged. Did a master reset, took the device to work, connected it there to a different micro USB charger (HTC branded) and got it up to 100%. now is been nearly four hours later, only light use in that time, but the battery remains at 100%, says "Charged" in the notification tray, in "Not charging" in the battery settings. So I guess my question is (and I have looked around and didnt see an answer) can I fix this without rooting?

Rooting won't enable you to do anything special to fix this. If you've already tried a factory reset with no joy (or even if you haven't yet), remove the back cover and verify the battery connector is firmly seated- even go so far as to unplug and replug it.
Also, you may want to do a quick search of the forum, as this isn't an uncommon problem.

I did do the factory reset as soon as I realized the problem and nothing has changed since then. It's now been on battery for over 21 hours and says it's at 70% which can't possibly be correct. What exactly does the battery connector have to do with the meter being inaccurate?

Charge level is reported by the battery's fuel gauge. A poorly seated connector is a very common cause of this issue.

Has my G2's battery gone bad?

The first time I charged it using the wall it was pretty fast and got up to 100%. Now I charge it and it's barely moving at all. For instance, it is at 17% now and this is after I've just done a factory reset, and it just says "Collecting battery info... Please wait." for how long it is going to take but this never changes. Before I did the factory reset (desperate last resort) it was saying it was going to take 29 hours to fully charge. It's not on slow charge mode, it says "Charging (AC)" and I've used both the charger and cable that came with the phone and a HTC one and both are the same. I've only had it a month or two.
I got it online from Amazon. Please tell me I can fix this and I'm not going to have to tediously exchange emails with LG and have to package and ship it to them.

do you have it plugged directly into the wall? are you on a custom rom? You did a factory reset, but did you reinstall a custom rom. it does sound kind of strange, but maybe a little trouble shooting before you panic. what recovery are you using?

I don't know, I just selected factory reset from the backup and reset menu in settings.
It will always say that when plugged in. Perform factory reset. Reboot it twice. Leave power off and charge it with OEM charger and cable. Should take roughly 1:45:00 to fully charge. Power on. If this happens again, replace it.

okay, if you have enough power to go to the playstore and install os monitor free. no root required. install it and go to misc settings. you will see some stats for your battery right at the top. included are - Health - should say Good. Tech, not important, capacity - will tell you how full battery is. Voltage - it changes when plugged in. when unplugged with OEM charger it should be around 3800-3825mV. plug it in and it should jump up to around 4000mV within about 20 seconds and then rise a little more maybe 50mV after about a minute. It will stabilize there when charging properly. hope that helps you figure out what is going on.

Actually, Google Play Store isn't loading right now. Incredibly frustrating. This has happened before and it said "no connection retry" but this time it just has the rotating circle forever. The internet is working, I can access web sites. I tried installing it from my web browser on my computer but it said I haven't accessed the google play store on my device, whcih I can't do. I've tried force stopping it, clearing data and cahce and trying again and this doesn't work either.

Actually, it has crawled to 3892mV now, still charging slow as ever though. Also, yesterday it said it had 58 hours left but it ran out during the night.
Never go by those estimations. I get a full charge topped off 4.336mV. Actually says 100% ~4.1mV.

Battery issues

Hi everyone. My Nexus 7 (WiFi 16GB) is almost unusable ever since the latest update. The tablet does not charge properly, it is very slow, and once it reaches 67% it stops and doesn't go up anymore. And it drains very quickly as well, it takes just under 4 hours from 67% to something like 10%. And even when I plug it in, I need to leave it alone if I wish it to charge, since it still does not charge (it does, but the discharge rate is bigger than rate charge, so it basically is discharging while charging). I tried flashing another ROM but I get Status 7 in TWRP, I have been getting it for a long time now every time I try to flash an update or a ROM, even though I flashed factory image on it, both manually and via some toolkit. I cannot do it now since I am not home for another week or so, and the only computer available to me is not mine.
Is there anything I can do at this point? I do not even know what is it - is it 4.2.2 or the battery itself (I tried turning it off and charging it while it is off, the same thing happens - very slow). Also, I should add that I am mainly using the original charger which came in the box, but I tried other chargers as well. It was bought from Play Store in November 2012, so I am the first owner.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat, although mine is unrooted and stock... I can't recall if this started since the last update, but it was a gradual slope down to where I haven't been able to get it to charge for the past day. at first it was just charging really slow, now it's not charging at all. I'm using the OEM charger and cord (tried another usb cord, but still nothing). When I plug it in, the charging indicator will come on, however it just doesn't charge.
I've tried all the fixes in the stickied post (plug into computer, then wall... quickly unplug and plug the usb into the charger repeatedly, turn off and charge... pop the back off and unplug and replug in the battery), but I think my (our?) issue is separate from what that thread is trying to solve.
One thing I tried is turning it off and plugging it in. the larger battery icon would show up, show that it's charging, but letting it go overnight like this, then turning it on, it's still at the same % as when I turned it off. Nothing is working.
I'm beginning to believe that my nexus 7 is on it's last discharge unless anyone has any suggestions. Below is a screen shot of my battery discharging even while plugged in. the short spike was after rebooting then unplugging and replugging it back in... but then some unknown time later it just stopped charging. the small spikes at the right are trying all the methods from the sticky thread trying to get it to start charging. I then turned it off overnight with it plugged in.. and it's the same.
