LED flash light - YotaPhone

Hello everyone, I really need your help.
I just received a yotaphone 2 yd201 from Geeks Planet Store on aliexpress. However, I've been trying without any luck to make its LED flash light work. Just want to make sure this is not my mistake in using software, would you let me know how to turn on the flash light on a yotaphone 2? I tried turning on Flash mode in camera app, or installing a torch software...
By the way, I flashed the phone to latest rom RU 124, OTA upto 134, RU radio (sadly, the original firmware was HK kitkat, baseband CN1_M05). It's quite easy with the help of Mr. TheArt's thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/help/guide-everything-to-yotaphone2-t3547194
After a day of using, I found out it heat up to 48*C when I was just surfing internet by Opera browser through wifi (haven't inserted a SIM card yet). I am wondering whether it is normal for a yd201?
Thank you so much for your advise !

[Q] Has anyone had problems with Android Wear after upgrading to a 5.0 rom?

This has been mentioned somewhere else before but I haven't found a reliable solution .... after upgrading to stock 5.0 (SM-N9005, tried both saudi arabia and poland rom), my LG G Watch R keeps getting disconnected. More accurately, it disconnects when out of range and refuses to reconnect when back in range. Only rebooting the phone lets it connect again. This is extremely frustrating and it's a problem that seems to be localized to the Note 3. I'm considering downgrading back to kitkat (but I'm not even sure how to go about doing that). Anyone know of a solution?

So solution yet, but workaround.
Thanks for replying. Sorry I didnt notice that thread before posting. The only workarounds seem to be using a BT autoconnect app which drains battery or else flashing a 16GB Hong Kong rom with pit file. I had tried doing that recently and ran into all sorts of problems and almost bricked my phone. I was lucky to recover from it. I may have perhaps used the wrong pit file or something, but in any case there's no way I'm trying that again. Can anyone point me towards a quick guide to downgrading back to kitkat? Is it a simple matter of flashing a stock kitkat rom, or will that cause problems?
had this issue on CM11

After installing the Poland ROM it was great. I had no issue.

yotamirror

Hi guys,
i'm not able to activate yotamirror: whenever I start it from the front display, on the back there's not the mirror but an instructions splash screen with "skip" or "continue" options, that i can't tap. it seems like just an image. I've tried to flash stock EU and RU roms with no luck.
I have no idea how to achieve to have it working. Please help

Can't tell if you're serious or not
I can't keep trying, it's like tapping on an image.
Update:
Problem is about the firmware EU-1.124b, I've downgraded to 1.87a and it's working.
Contacted yotaphone with the website form (they are kind and really fast) and now I'm waiting to have news from the technical dept. I will update as soon as I can get YotaMirror working with latest firmware.
Did you get any news on this? I think I have run into the same problem, and I am rather surprised that the signature feature of the phone is not working on the latest firmware. The problem with downgrading is that the old version is not certified by safetynet, so a number of applications (such as NFC payment) will not work.
PS: How do you downgrade?
Ok, I managed to downgrade using Yotaflasher, and with Android 4.4, both safetynet and YotaMirror work fine. The only bug remaining is severe ghosting on the EPD.

Does the YD-206 variant get the lollipop update natively?

With all the updating going on lately for the YotaPhone I am lost if the Chinese (YD-206) got the update? I mean without the hassle of trying to flash the RU version on it?
If not maybe could you help me find the cheapest YD-201 version? It's be greatly appreciated!
Also another question I had on my mind was how the performance is for simple VR games? I noticed it has Gyroscope and I wanted to use Riftcat and a leap motion to simulate a vive... Maybe use some freetrack with it to get some tracking so i can walk a little too! I don't wanna bore you all with the details but yeah do you guys think it can handle some of the games? I realize that riftcat just streams it from my PC but i'm not sure how intensive that is!
Thanks guys I appreciate it! Also if all works out and I get all that VR stuff going I'll keep you all updated! Again Thank You all so much

The Chinese version is unfortunately stuck on KitKat. Flashing to the RU firmware is not that hard and if it should fail you can always flash back to the Chinesae version.
Yes, I agree , it's easy , put handset in developer mode so your PC can talk to it, then install yotaflasher on the PC, 1 option to download your chosen firmware zip file then another option to flash your handset. If there is something wrong (normally adb drivers) you have not lost anything.
The problems will only start if it does not flash and you have to tinker.
But yes, I recommend that you try to update to the latest release.
Yes Yotaphone works very well with VR games, gets a little hot and uses battery , but so all handsets.
I think even if you buy the yd201 , you may not have an update selection, but I am not sure of this. They usually have a special modified retailer firmware with more languages and stopping updates. A few weeks ago when I ordered my yd206 there were plenty of international yd201s and even some white Yotaphone, but now there fewer.

I think I am convinced too take my chance with the YD-206 now, I was just a little skeptical since I saw some others on the forum having problems trying to get it too RU. But in one of the threads a saw a solution if I can't get it too work by doing it manually.

Great battery life on RU 134 firmware using App optimisation

I have been using my YotaPhone with the latest RU firmware (134) for a while now and especially after App optimisation kicked in after 3 days (it takes 3 days for App optimisation to start optimising apps) battery life is excellent for me. I almost solely use the second screen (I use the Yota as my second phone) and a full charge easily lasts 5 days now (see attached screen). I don't use YotaEnergy but App optimisation works independent of that, although it is a little confusing that it is under the YotaEnergy option suggesting that you need to switch YotaEnergy on for it to work. Just something I wanted to share.
Do you have YD201 or YD206? If you have YD206 which radio do you use? The one in RU firmware or one from CN firmware?

Mine is a Chinese 206 converted to a 201 by flashing the latest RU firmware on it. I also have the RU radio on it.

You're right, I just meant it now says 201 in the system menu. I use mine as my second phone with only wifi enabled, no sim inserted so the bands don't matter to me.
Toggle switches to the left of right to enable app optimisation.

It is not clear to me, if the toggle switches for the list of apps should be positioned to the left or right to enable app optimization.
Is it necessary to alter any of these, or will the optimization be automatic?

When the switches are to the right (green) they are on. By default you can have them all on, only apps that maybe behave weird when in optimisation should be excluded. Please take note that it will take 3 days before the first apps will be optimised. When you have the notification switch on you will get a notification when an app is going into optimised mode. Apps that are optimised will also have a "App is being optimised" message below the name on this screen.
There's the hybrid baseband in the link, it also solves the proximity sensor, but on Marshmallow Wifi Is always scanning :/

On the screenshot i can see that you only use Wifi and left the sim card slot blank, right? cause you don't use sim, as you said.
So, i am curious, why don't you just turn on Flight Mode and after that enable WiFi?
So this must be even better in energy saving than just leaving it blank?
I'll try this now by myself cause i am using it as my second phone too and only outdoors with sim.
On my phone i didn't see the "App is beeing otimised" note though.
I have YD206 and I put the last RU rom 134. Unfortunately, the range was almost not so I put radio from 4.4.3. The range is now very good but the battery is discharged at a rapid rate. Any idea?

Hi, I also have a YD206 and it originally came with HK firmware installed. The main guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/help/guide-everything-to-yotaphone2-t3547194) instructs one to install the CN radio files if you have YD206 but you're saying you get better battery life with the HK radio files? I removed my earlier post so there's less confusion, it was wrote when people here were starting to solve the proximity bug. Right now the best baseband software for YD206 is the hybrid.
The Answer to your Question:
No, YD206 have best connection with China Baseband radio files, but there's bugs with proximity sensor, the guys that made the latest hybrid baseband with Chinese radio solved the proximity bug and others: https://forum.xda-developers.com/yo...ick-unlock-t3531682/post71581534#post71581534
So if you have the TWRP recovery installed you can just flash the TWRP zip file so you have the hybrid baseband, that right now is the best for YD206.
So i think people have to distinguish two things when you want to flash:
- the Build
- and the baseband version
Mine came with Android 4.4.3 and had
-Build: KTU84L.4.4.3-S001-003-HK1.0.3.61a
-baseband: S01_003_3034_CN1_M05
(Modell: YD206)
when i flashed it to Android 5.0, i used the Russian Firmware .124 to have the RU build,
then took out the content of the radio folder (because the russian firmware has different baseband)
and put the chinese baseband into it and flashed it.
So everything works fine, no proximity problem or anything.
when the 6.0 update comes i'll have to figure out to use the chinese baseband version again.
You can try this stuff to verify OP

To install google play and make the phone works for your country, the seller must had messing around with your phone.
So before make any risk, you should unlock bootloader, then you can flash recovery and install A2017U or A2017G (depend on where you live). It have google service pre-install, english without chinese craps.
That could be my next step but i'm not really confident doing this right now (newbee). My concern is will my 2/3/4G work well with a A2017G on a CN phone, no modem or band problem ? Of coure that would be more simple because after i will be able to do all updates with OTA. Anybody can confirm that going from A2017 to A2017G work 100% ? Is there a guide A2017 (CN) to A2017G ? I see a lot of good informations here on xda but i don't want to brick my new phone . So if someone can provide me a step by step or a link with the full procedure that will help me a lot.

I myself run A2016U on chinese model. Work fabulous (wifi, cellurar, mobile network) - as long as you flash right modem.
My phone is already unlock bootloader when seller gives it to me, and I do plenty things (even run into EDL only, but not dead still, chinese model rule!!).
Yes the key point is the modem ... I'm too newbee to make the sorcer apprentice ... I really need some help to do that right.

Okay I also ordered the same phone (A2017 China version) from AliExpress and the seller installed Google play and international language support. My phone came with B07 (same as yours).
Now read this really carefully, your phone is not stock, to install Google play and language support the seller messes around with the phone at the system level, so the phone will not receive OTA updates and will not flash OTA update files, the Chinese recovery is also useless. Any attempt to forcefully update the device will soft brick your phone.
You can keep running the B07 ROM but of you want to update you will have to unlock bootloader, root and install TWRP on your phone.
I have created a rar file with all the files you need to root and unlock bootlader:
https://ufile.io/980b3
Follow the instructions here:
Follow the instructions here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/newbies-guide-to-unlocking-rooting-axon-t3496234
Remember to run the backup program "axon7backup.exe" to backup your recovery and boot before rooting.
Also update twrp using fastboot once you have unlocked the bootloader.
After installing the latest twrp you can update to the latest nougat chinese build using this:

Thanks Vurio, doing like you said bring me to A2017 B13 Nougat 7.1 in chinese version right ? Is that preferable and more easier to do this than trying to go on A2017G ? I'm in Switzerland and the phone work great 2G/4G so i don't really need to be on G version. Just one more newbee question, every time i put a new firmware i will need to reinstall all my apps and of course Googplay ?
If I flash the u or g version on this phone. Are the LTE bands 20 unlocked like one the g version?
I have the Chinese version. All i done when i got it was flashed the full Chinese firmware and installed Google services and apps. I've been getting the ota updates and am now on 7.1.1. Which came ota Sunday. I did not need to root or anything.
I'm in uk.

Everytime you flash a new ROM, you need to wipe data, so yes you need to reinstall Google play and all your apps. But if you are rooted you can use titanium backup and that makes restoring apps really easy and quick.
About the firmware, axon 7 has 3 versions, Chinese, European and american. Each one comes with its own set of 4g bands and that cannot be changed no matter what you flash.
The Chinese and the american versions are most compatible with each other. You can use the American rom on the Chinese version but the changes will be aesthetic only. You will get rid of all the annoying Chinese text and apps and your phone will look and feel more "global". The modem of the phone will still remain Chinese so the bands won't change.
Ok so titanium is a must because we will have some new firmware this year ...
I'm not a newbie on computer thing but Android .... I discover it on my shield tv 2 monthes before ... I'm not scared to try but it's the fact to try and not to be sure 100% that work.
Your solution same to be the one but i see now that some (other) chinese seller propose A2017 CN version with A2017G installed ... How they do that ? Did they also flash the modem ?
I repeat i dont really need A2017G but i want to apply the most optimal option for my situation and when you don't really know what you do, it's not easy ... Also when you just pay some $$ to a brand new phone ...

The modem will not work. The modem will only work for the particular device. The seller on AliExpress never have the best reputation.
I am guessing that they would flash the European ROM but leave the modem Chinese. This is possible but European compatibility is not the best with Chinese version.
The american on the other hand has the best compatibility and even received updates faster. For eg. American version is on 7.1.1 whereas the European version is on 7.0.
And I completely agree with your sentiments on your new phone. One should always be careful and have complete information before messing around with a phone.
Also titanium backup only works on rooted phones. Titanium and adaway are the only reason that the first thing I do when I get a new phone is root it ??

I bought mine from aliexpress. They done the same thing and put a note saying you shouldn't do anything... Or something to that effect. Trust me, your in exactly the same situation. There's a few threads on here from a few months ago. All you need to do is flash the stock firmware. Flag the Google apps and update them and away you go. Did you flash the official firmware without rooting and installing TWRP?
Yes. I have never rooted the phone or installed any other recovery. Just flashed the firmware by having it on the internal sd card and update software.
Please read through the thread where this is discussed in detail and works easy before you start.
I followed info from that thread and it went fine.

Ok alom5 you got my attention now. I'm really not in hurry f you can give me the thread (when you have some time) tomorow or later. So i need to flash the stock A2017 B07 ( i presume), then reinstall "properly" googplay and after i will receive all news OTA update ? Sound great ... Could be the easiest way for me ... When you flash back to stock and restart can you choice the language or are you only in chinese ?
I'm searching in the forum and if i see right i can directly flash the B13 version for SD ? http://www.zte.com.cn/china/sitecor...rt/detail?id=B4C0ACE418834F588FED0C72D6046C78 I'm downloading right now ... 9 hours remaining ...
