Hi guys!
I have a problem...
Yesterday i flashed my phone from CM12.1 to Resurrection Remix Lollipop.
After doing this without problems my WiFi stopped to work.. I can't enable it... It stuck at "On"
After searching on internet i find a thread where you need to edit files at "etc/WiFi" but i can't find the folder..
Also "data/misc/WiFi" is missing..
For flashing i wiped everything... System, dalvik, interna storage, cache..
Can Someone send me the folders?
Go to Rox or n1kolaa cm12.1 thread and search wifi fix.
I would suggest that you flash this kernel, it may fix your problem.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67561726&postcount=3461
Its the same kernel as RR but with offline charging fixed by Renix.
This is the wifi folder you asked for

Hey guys, did some searches and can't find any help here and I wonder what I could try to get my wifi working again.
CM7.03
2.6.32.39-CM-GB-Faux123-v2.5.2-CFS
I was on CM7.03 and had been using the 2.6.5 until I realized the thread said it was only compatible with 2.3.4 ROMs. I had been having some freezing issues here and there and decided to look around.
I wiped cache and dalvik cache and moved to the correct kernel so now my wifi will not toggle and stays with just "Error".
Any thoughts? Reboot / battery pull is no good.

I would recommend asking this in the rom thread. Your wifi issue might be rom specific and the other users in that rom thread or the dev should be able to assist you better.
Thanks, I'll try that
How did you flash the kernel? The issue is from a wrong wifi driver, which should have been updated with the kernel change.
Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik then install zip from sdcard
Fixed, turns out it was a bad wifi driver install and was noted in the original kernel post.. ouch lol. Just pushed the file over and rewrote it and it works now.
Hello every1, I have a problem with my u8800 when i install both cm7 and oxygen 2,3,7 (latest versions) and i try to turn on my wifi, at first my phone reboots and then it keeps saying "error". What can i do, coz i really like those roms but without wifi its pointless...
Any help is very much appreciated
Did you wipe data, cache, dalvik cache etc. before installing ROM?
of course i did
Both cm7 and oxygen wifi didn't work?
I think you should change rom, if the wifi work. It means not hardware problem.
And you should ask the producer of the rom.
what do you mean change rom? I am with the official rom now 2,2,2 and wifi works fine. My wifi didnt work when i installed cm7 and oxygen
edit: on miui wifi works great aswell
I recently flashed the Hexagon rom based on CM13 on my Yureka+ and if worked fine. Later I flashed Velocity 13 kernel and it still operated fine for a day. But the next day when I turned on the WIFI, it kept "Searching" for networks when my laptop is working fine.
What I've tried:-
1) Clean flashed the ROM
2) Clean flashed the kernel
3)Tried another ROM
4) Tried another kernel
5) Flashed CyanogenOS 12 (official) via fastboot
Please help me. I really need an answer ASAP.
Thank you.

I have i9506. I'm using custom rom Darklord S7E for many months but didn't face any problem. When i try to install krait kernel after install i wipe everything like dalvik, cache, data,* system. When phone start wifi didn't work.
I search on internet about this problem but didn't find any solution.
I tried *#0011# but didn't see any option in wifi tag.
Please help....
Sorry for my bad English.
It's because of the kernel. Go back to the original one.
Hey all,
I have been stressing out about this the past week or two trying to get myself to a new rom.
AICP, Slimrom 7 and ViperOS seem to break my WiFi and cause my MAC address to default to 02:00:00:00:00:00.
Using my cellular data to set up my phone doesn't work either.
When I choose "don't use any network for set up," there seems to be no data connection (and obv no Wifi) to set up anything from the Playstore later on.
This happens every time flashing a rom that is not of OOS.
What are some ideas to get these roms a working?
I have to format through TWRP and reinstall OOS to get WiFi back rockin.
I am bored of OxygenOS. Help me out?
Maybe I'm overlooking another thread so link me if you can.
Thanks!
Are you clean flashing the ROMs? I haven't tried the ROMs you listed but I have had no luck with any AOSP ROMs on the OP5 because I get a poor phone signal on all of them--but I never had a problem with the WiFi. Maybe clean flash Pure Fusion which is popular and see if the WiFi issue still happens.
You might also be using ROMs that are incompatible with the firmware from whatever build of OOS you are running. Usually the ROM thread will tell you which firmware version you need and sometimes includes links to download the compatible firmware in zip form so you can flash it with the ROM.
Clean flash every time. I'll try Pure Fusion. When I was trying ViperOS there was a firmware and modem zip that went along with the flashing process. Even with that separate zip, I resulted with the same WiFi situation.
Just went from
format data > freedomOS (working wifi) > format data > wipe & formats> Pure Fusion > Gapps nano > magisk 14.3
boot to setup and errors say
com.android.phone has stopped
From the boot up errors I decided to go new rom. Did the wipes necessary to flash Ressurection Remix and this seems to be running ok. I am confident that flashing a new rom will break WiFi, so I'm gonna ride Resurrection Remix out for now.

You just need to reboot once you get to the setup screen and those errors go away
I was a flashaholic with my Nexus 6P, so when I received my OP5 3 weeks ago, I went flashing within minutes
I was having the same issue...but I was able to connect to WIFI...but certain 5GHz wifi SSIDs were giving me issues and it would not let me connect.
Happened with decrypted & encrypted ROMS
right now I'm stuck on OOS 4.5.13 (which isn't a bad stock ROM at all) until I find a thread with a solution.
