Hey guys, did some searches and can't find any help here and I wonder what I could try to get my wifi working again.
CM7.03
2.6.32.39-CM-GB-Faux123-v2.5.2-CFS
I was on CM7.03 and had been using the 2.6.5 until I realized the thread said it was only compatible with 2.3.4 ROMs. I had been having some freezing issues here and there and decided to look around.
I wiped cache and dalvik cache and moved to the correct kernel so now my wifi will not toggle and stays with just "Error".
Any thoughts? Reboot / battery pull is no good.

I would recommend asking this in the rom thread. Your wifi issue might be rom specific and the other users in that rom thread or the dev should be able to assist you better.
Thanks, I'll try that
How did you flash the kernel? The issue is from a wrong wifi driver, which should have been updated with the kernel change.
Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik then install zip from sdcard
Fixed, turns out it was a bad wifi driver install and was noted in the original kernel post.. ouch lol. Just pushed the file over and rewrote it and it works now.

You have to install both GingerDX and the Wifi hotfix through CWM, not xrecovery. DX changed it so that it now has to be done on CWM instead. Hope I've helped you.
My WiFi stopped working on v14 too. At first I did it on xRecovery but then I did both the v14 and the hotfix in CWM. Still wouldn't work so I just flashed it back to v13.
Although 3G doesn't work for me now.

Initially, that happened to me too but then I full wiped with system and dalvik cache. Then I flashed both V14 and the hotfix and rewiped the system and dalvik cache once again. This was all done on CWM and it worked for time.

I'll try that when I get the time! It's a bit tedious...
Hey guys,
First i want to say i did use the search tool to try and find my answer, but had no luck. Two days ago i updated to Miui 2.3.30 and since then i been having wifi problems and random restarts. If i turn wifi on it doesn't find anything any more and the phone crashes. After that it keeps restarting until i remove the battery.I tried previous miui builds but the same problem happened after using the phone for about 10 minutes. I also tried other roms that were not miui, on those i dont get the resarting problem, but wifi will keep turning off and on. Is there any fix for this? I love miui roms

Have you tried a full wipe? 9 out of 10 times this will fix problems.

I did a full wipe every time. By full wipe i mean : wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.... I read in some threads that maybe is the kernel, but i have no idea about. Any help appreciated .
Kernal certainly could be the problem, dig through the development forum for that Rom and see what others are using as their Kernal. Try that and if it doesn't work provide us with more details
Alright, i looked around it and one of the users said he used DARKSIDE v12 kernel. I flashed it, but still have the problem. I also notice that if i turn airplane mode on none of the problems happen. It works perfectly on airplane mode. Also if i flash the rom and never try to turn wifi on it won't crash. If i try to turn wifi on the phone will keep crashing until i turn airplane mode on or reflash the rom. I am using a mytouch 4g with miui 2.3.30.
airplane mode is disabling everything you would have broken, so no problems would appear.
I'm running Darkside-v12-cm7+ from thederekjay. 2.6.34.14 and I'm not having any problems.
I was running some other kernel the other day and a bunch of things weren't working

Try to format system and data and then wipe delvic and them factory reset before flashing the rom. That is a true full wipe. You can't have issues if the rom doesn't format those partitions properly upon rom flash.
I got it to work !! Thank you guys for the help, i appreciate it. What i did was i clicked all the wipe options on recovery mode except battery and flashed an old miui i had. After it started i just left it there for like 3 minutes( didn't click anything) and restart it. This time i tried wifi and it worked. Turn it off and on a couple of times and it worked fine.

Please could you provide more detail to what you've did because i am currently going through the same problem and haven't found any help can you tell me what version of miui you've installed to get this fixed i've done full wipes countless of times but every time i load up and press the turn on wifi icon the phone reboots randomly :crying:
After updating to the latest Franco Kernel (r150) earlier today, I found that my wifi no longer works:
i.imgur.com / 6LmniGC.png <-- sorry, low post count.
The wifi switch has been disabled, and I cannot turn wifi on.
I tried reverting to an older revision of the kernel, going back to r134 which I was previously using with no problems, and found that I still could not turn on wifi.
Does anyone have any brilliant ideas?
Thanks in advance.
You can try fixing permissions and wiping the dalvik/cache from recovery mode. That probably wont fix it though, it seems like your wifi config is screwed up. Franco does not mess with the wifi in his kernel so it was probably caused by something else.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately neither wiping dalvic/cache nor fixing permissions resolved the issue. Wifi is still unavailable.
I don't know for sure that it was the kernel update that caused the issue, but wifi was working before the update, and then wasn't available after I updated, and I didn't do anything else in between.
I don't suppose you know how to 'unscrew' a wifi config?
I had that problem awhile ago, sadly the only way I could fix it was to restore a Nandroid. If you don't have one and can't wait, I suggest you wipe the phone and reflash everything.
Perhaps someone else here has a fix though

I pulled the wifi config files from AOKP and packaged them as a zip. Install in recovery. Hope it works.

Hello all-
I've been bouncing around ROMs lately trying to find a fast and stable ROM to use as my daily driver, but the TW roms seem to all lag, and CM10.2 isn't giving me a reliable connection to my car's bluetooth. The most promising ROM has been a 4.3 Google Edition ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370205) except I keep getting a message when I try and use Google maps saying I need to enable GPS, although GPS is enabled. A quick reboot solves the issue and I am then able to use Maps. Does anyone else get this issue, or know if there is a solution?
Many thanks,
Jacob
edit: the problem also happens on CM10.2. The only common denominator I see is 4.3, but that is still just a guess.
when you're moving around ROMs, what wipe procedures are you performing? more specifically when transitioning between 4.2.2 and 4.3. what you're saying in your post is that a reboot generally fixes the issue which means it's not technically being caused by the ROM (code) but by an action before or after the install. cheers

Always the same process. In TWRP 2.5.0.2: Wipe Data, System, Dalvik Cache and Cache in Advanced Wipe. Then install the zip (and gapps if necessary) and reboot. Never had the problem with TW 4.2.2 Roms, and after posting, decided to give CM10.1.3 a whirl and see what happens.
Thanks for the help.
I recently flashed the Hexagon rom based on CM13 on my Yureka+ and if worked fine. Later I flashed Velocity 13 kernel and it still operated fine for a day. But the next day when I turned on the WIFI, it kept "Searching" for networks when my laptop is working fine.
What I've tried:-
1) Clean flashed the ROM
2) Clean flashed the kernel
3)Tried another ROM
4) Tried another kernel
5) Flashed CyanogenOS 12 (official) via fastboot
Please help me. I really need an answer ASAP.
Thank you.
