Samsung/AOSP hybrid rom

Hello!
I was looking today for a rom for my friend's Galaxy S2. Then I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847600
It's based on Sammy's rom, but most apps were changed to AOSP. Same as MIUI for our device, which supports all S Pen features but only S Note and camera app are from Sammy.
Is someone planning to develop this kind of rom for our device? Is there something like this that I missed.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Oops, thought I was is Q&A forum. Please move this post to there...
Damn that definitely looks awesome of a rom..especially the dialer and status bar, maybe someone will get to port it to the Note II.

Posting this rom won't help us, we still won't have S Pen and stability.
Someone needs to take the AOSP apps, port them to the Note 2 and replace the Samsung apps. I have no idea how to port the AOSP apps, so I can't to that..
The CaponMod ROM is the closest we've got to an AOSP-hybrid rom feel as far as I've seen.
This looks quite appealing. :good:

it's not exactly what I was looking for as the Chamelon rom is mostly AOSP, only Samsung features and two apps, not a skin.

S4 firmware dumping ground

This thread steered in a direction I originally didn't mean to but now it serves another purpose.
We'll have this thread as an S4 dumping ground, where we dump S4 firmwares, discuss them and try to see if and what apps work with the S3.

Lightly modded mb5 here still, getting a bit itchy though so I might have a change of scenery soon if the new update looks ok

I am never fully satisfied but I'm the most satisfied with Omega though. ^^
Btw, there's an S Voice app out which is from a GS4 system dump. Should we rename it to voicetalk.apk to have it launch with a double home click?
http://hotfile.com/dl/199986593/6b163c0/S-Voice_Android_phone_J.apk.html
Modified Omega V39 .
Remove more bloat change boot animation added sound mods .
Dont bother to update a stable rom until a better version or better firmware is released .
All these incremental updates are usually only minor changes .
I would build a rom through the kitchen but really not much difference if any to the roms already modded .
Non Touchwizz stuff never liked any of it and have a strong preference for TW Launcher .

I'm running Ultima V11 right now, Nexus 4 launcher, kept some bloat like Samsung apps and S voice, runs really smooth and I think I'm in love.
Ok so I renamed the SIV S Voice to Voicetalk and replace the S3 one and set the proper permissions, rebooted and now tried it. Much much much faster and looooads better at perception. It now almost fully hears what I say despite me not being a native English speaker.

I never did try that. I always do things the annoying way out of sheer habit.
I will miss S Voice when I get another phone.

I wish someone could upload the full GS4 system dump
Btw, the new Over the Horizon ringtone sounds a lot better than the one on the GS3.

S5 Firmware

Finally it's here for Porting Pleasure
http://www.sammobile.com/2014/03/24/first-galaxy-s5-firmware-is-now-available-for-download/
Please! to all master port it our S2 so we can experience having an S5. :victory:
And how precisely do you expect this to happen on a 3x superceded/3yr old phone with enormous hardware differences ? Having the same look in a rom as another phone does not give you 'the experience' of that phone
Yes, I agree. The best we will get might be some of the new TouchWiz apps. Not sure how usefull that is.

CM fully working? Not yet, issues like touchscreen, NFC ,A-GPS and calling volume still have to be tackled. But the devs are doing a great job so far

Yeah, I'm not having any of those issues. My NFC,GPS, and touchscreen having been working flawlessly. Oh, and my call volume is better than what it was on TouchWiz. I have no idea why you're having those issues dude, but my device is working awesomely.

Not remotely interested in CM on this device. If I wanted it I'd buy a Nexus or OpO.

?
Well i guess that's your opinion, but some of us like samsung hardware
Touchwiz becomes very sluggish and unstable when rooted and modded

I was thinking king about this too. I am a fan of AOSP Roms, but the camera quality is always neutered so badly on samsung phones, it's not worth it. Not to mention other stuff like finger print scanner and the edge stuff. We have root and a theme engine as well as exposed, it's pretty good.
The only phone that I used CM on that was worth it from Samsung was the note 4 because somebody made a camera nightshot fix, the pic quality was indistinguishable from TW, but that was an exception.
