Internal storage android 7.0 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I have a s7 edge with android 7 and i bought a Samsung evo sd with 128gb. Can i make a adoptable storage? Y try with adb codes and in the terminal show thats ok but my storage its the same. Any solution?
And other question. Can i change the downloads of chrome to go directly to sd? Thnx

Wrong thread

I tried the ADB codes. Worked, but I did not like it. Now I am using app2sd to blind large games to SD. Working very well for me.

Make App2SD works for Android 4 ICS on Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0

Anyone ever successfully move application data to external SD card for Galaxy 2 7.0 which uses Android 4 ICS? Is there any ROM having successfully handle this?
I tried several solutions posted on internet, but no luck to get it work.
Not yet but how many apps do you have that is filling up your tab that quickly?

I would be interested in this too. My copilot GPS for example has about 1.4GB or because of the built in maps. I used the App2SD app on my previous GB version of this tablet to free up space and would like to move this over at some point.
Maybe the app2sd can not resolve your problems about it, I think app2sd just can move files inside apk to your extsdcard but no other files like the files download when the game run first time.
but you can make it by using scriptManger which can mount internal folders to extsdcard .

use Directory Bind. It's on play store.
Also try GL to SD(Root) if you are rooted... it's in the Play Store.... It was designed to move Gameloft datafiles to the ExtSDCard but other users have discovered that it also moves other game data files as well.
+1 for GL to SD(ROOT)
I am new to Android but not Linux. I wonder if you opened a terminal and create a soft link. Would this not work?
Guys.
When i try to download GL 2 SD from the Play store it says 'Error - Insufficient Storage Space'.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.
Many thanks

Unable to back up on ExtSdcard

Hi guys,
I was trying to back up my nova feature to my SD card and for x reason it didn't work. Saving to internal storage work but that would be useless when wiping for a new ROM, I noticed I can't transfer files from my device too ( internal to SD gotta be done by computer). SD card is a 32gb Kingston
Thanks

Hi There
Google has blocked the permission to write to sd card.
easiser solution is download SDFIX from google play.
root required.
Any idea why did they did? I'll try it, thanks

Google seems take it as a security issue.
It happens kk4.4 or later.

Use Samsung's own app for file moving, worked for me with with multimedia files.
Save it to phone memory then transfer to sd card using my files app.

SDFix definitely fixes the issue if you are rooted. Android 4.4 changes the stock permissions, so apps only have read/write permissions to folders that they create and can't write to folders created manually or by other apps. SDFix restores permissions to how they were prior to 4.4. Its less secure, but it allows programs like Titanium Backup to function again.

I have no problems with nova backup to sd on my s4,and its on 4.4 too
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Right now there isn't a way to change the folder where the Nova backups are stored (/sdcard/data/com.teslacoilsw.launcher/backup). What you can do next time is make your backup and then copy it to your SD card or PC. When you do your next reset you can copy that backup file back to where it's expected to be and be back in business. Kind of poor coding that you can't just save it to your SD in the first place...
Omega ROM doesn't have that glitch.
An app called File expert can read/write to external xd card without root. They have sorted this issue out
Sdfix did work guys. I used it to backup Nova setting on ExtSd

Game cache copied to external sd card not recognzied.

Hi I have recently bought Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7inch with 8 GB internal memory and 4 gb user available. I am using and 16GB external SD card. I copied game cache into external sd card Android/obb folder and installed the game but the game cache is not recognized. But if i copy the same into internal storage Android/obb its working fine. Is there any way to fix this with out rooting the phone. As the user available internal memory is very low i can not install many games.
Look for SD Card Kit Kat Fix in the play store by JRummy. That will probably solve your problem. I tried installing GTASA by putting the obb data in SD Card but it didn't work even with SD Card Fix.

Yeah.. but for it to work the device has to be rooted. Is there any other solution without rooting the device

I believe not. You must do it to emulated/0/sdcard
Sent from my SM-T230NU using XDA Free mobile app
If i am not wrong "emulated/0/sdcard" is the path of internal storage i want to install the app in an external storage. Is there a way to do that with out rooting the device. There is an nextapp sdfix app available in play store but the device nees to be rooted. I googled for the solution but all the solutions works only on rooted devices. So my question is there a way to solve this without rooting the device
No, you need to use an app like Foldermount to be able to move games with OBB directory, all methods require root.

Yeah, foldermount does it. It will link /sdcard/android/obb to /extsdcard (needs root)

Internal memory problem .. No free space available

Hello,
I have a problem with internal memory in my phone
I moved all my stuff to SD card , photos files etc
also i moved all the Movable apps to the sd
But some apps can't be moves i don't know why "see attaches pic"
I tried Clean master , ES files and some apps but didn't help
Please help me
I attached some photos shows the files and the "can't be moved" apps

You don't have a problem with the internal memory. You're simply encountering a normal occurrence, as not every app supports moving its data to the MicroSD card. Since your list of apps doesn't support being moved to the MicroSD the only way to clear storage is to uninstall the apps. You may of course try apps to SD card options, but I'm not sure how well they will work on Android 5.x.

thanks bro
even there's no way to force move this apps ?
i can't even make any update to my apps via store :crying:
To move the app data from internal storage would be to break the app itself. You don't want that.
Humor me here. Are you rooted, and are you using a custom recovery? If you are, which recovery?

at the first place i want to restore my space back
yeah , my phone is rooted and am using omega v28 5.0.1 rom
with custom recovery , TWRP 2.8.7.0 touch recovery
I just wanted to make sure you weren't using Clockworkmod or Philz, as those are notorious for eating internal storage. If you want to restore the lost space, you have to uninstall the apps. It's either that or you learn to live with it until Android 6.0 custom ROMs are made available for your device. Android 6.0 allows you to merge internal and external storage so that Android sees the two as a single volume, and that definitely would eliminate your problem.
Oh dear oh dear
ok thanks bro any way , i will try to live with it
Until it happen
Is there anyway to make Google play download / update to the sd card not the internal ??

Can we use adoptable storage feature?

Can we use adoptable storage feature on our Asus ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550kl? Please let me know if we can use memory card as internal memory or not.
Thanks...

You can use this adb command: adb shell sm set-force-adoptable true
I did it on my ZE500KL but therewas 1 problem: I couldn't save anything on my phone because it says that my memory is full
Ohk
But is this available for ZE550kl?
This is one of the major feature of Android M......

That adb command is the same for any phone on marshmallow. If you have marshmallow on your phone, if not you can download it from here and you don't have any option to format your SD-Card as internal storage this will make it available or you can try this
Down I have 2 screenshots: First before doing the first adb thing, the second one after.
I tried this on my ZE500KL and this seemed to work at first.
In Android storage parameters, internal memory and SD card appeared merged together.
But when I added stuff in the phone (songs, apps, etc.) it filled the internal memory and barely put some data on the SD card.
So it was useless to me: back to having SD card storage separated from internal memory.
