hi all my first post im wanting to relock 5x bootloader has i unlocked the boot loader unofficial way as my fingerprint scanner is not working so prob needs to go back also it wont update
i tried this via adb fastboot oem lock and it said FAILED ( remote invalid command) plus on the phone in fastbbot red its got PHONE unlocked and FRP UNLOCK
hope someone can help would be appriciated and im running b130 firmware
I dont think you can relock it its unlockable for a reason. Offtopic// how is warranty in europe when unlocked?
hmm,
well ive relocked bootloader just will not update and fingerprint not working not even in menu
Maybe you should walk us through what exactly you did up until the point where your FP scanner stopped working. It seems strange that it stopped working as a result to unlocking the bootloader (they are not related).
this is what i did
right i tried installing cm13 installed twrp and then the rom did not work kept crashing
so i reinstalled stock recovery via adb
then installed b130 rom for l21 device
ive even tried the dload update app route to reinstall stock rom and when i connect it to my charger and do the key combo i keeep getting software installed failed and it goes to quick to get the error message
i cannot update and im stuck on b130
when i do goto uopdate via handset it says your system was altered and full update is needed and then fails

Thats not the error. You cant update the phone after you rooted it/ after the bootloader is unlocked.
Did you clean flash it or dirty?

@Zulu:
Is your issue that the fingerprint setup menu item does not even show up in the settings menue even when you re-flash stock rom and EMUI 3.1?
I have that exact issue. I have been trying every possible way to go back to stock, am at EMUI 3.1 now with original Recovery. But still the fingerprint menu item still does not show up in the setup menue screen.
Now I am hoping that EMUI 4 will solve that issue.
Did you find a solution by chance?

hi yes same issue i couldn't get phone to update to b140 or anything so I've just reflashed cm13 this time which went without any issues this time round. when i went back to stock the fingerprint was not even in menu same as you
i will not buy a cheap budget phone anymore this is way to much aggro lol and I've flashed loads of phones before and never had these issues on this scale I'm going to be buying another phone in a couple of months
the only reason i wanted to flash in first place as i thought stock was laggy
let me know if you get your issues sorted and then give me a step by step guide please when you have done this
also i did unlock my boot loader via dc client software as huawei site for unlocking boot loader never worked for me
:silly:
u can relock the bootloader. i did it. just go to the bootloader with fastboot oem relock ****** command. **** is your 16 digit unlock code. but 1st flash the stock recovery then lock the bootloader.

Hello zulu1875, if you are interested you can now contact our support team at 1-844-524-6667 for more information as we now offer an RMA process to re-flash the device back to factory settings. Please keep in mind that re-flashing the device will wipe the memory of the device clean.

Hi thanks for message I'm based in uk does honour uk offer this service as I desp need to back to stock
Lets see if it comes faster to our Device then Marshmellow...after Google released it to the Manufactures.
And it comes as it seems just to three Devices. (A9,M9, HTC 10)
I just got a OTA message to move from 3.39.531.7 to 3.39.531.12 I'm with T-MO and have it rooted with Teamwin recovery 2.8.7.1_CPTB-B1 on 6.0 Marshmallow
I just wish I knew how to do the upgrade all I do is go round and round, when I tell it to update it boots into the TRWP mentioned above and I have no idea what to do next.
guess I will wait until the smart people figure it out

You can't install OTAs with a custom recovery. You'll need to flash the stock recovery first and try again.
Got that system security OTA notification as well today. I'm using the stock ROM with root (SuperSU flashed via TWRP). Can I stay rooted to apply the OTA with the stock recovery or do I have to flash the RUU first?
Solved:
Make a backup with Titanium or however you like. Save all your data from internal SD. Afterwards apply latest RUU.exe from HTC (depending on your carrier). If you wanna reroot, I would suggest SuperSU 2.65, because newer versions end up in bootloops.
Don't expect Nougat this year...
It's the August security update
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
hope this year released

If you are flashing from 3.39.531.7 to .12 then you need the stock recovery from 3.39.531.7 to be installed.
If you've already flashed a custom recovery like TWRP, then just pull down the RUU from HTC's Web site. Be warned, however, that it will wipe the phone back to factory-fresh, so back up all your files/data/photos/music etc. and remove the SD card just to be safe.
RUU 531.12 T-Mobile
And to answer your specific question, I don't have the stock recovery for 531.12, but I presume that I will later today after I RUU my own device. I don't know how to archive the stock recovery but I plan to flash over it immediately with TWRP.

I just got a OTA message and doing the upgrade to 3.39.531.21 will let you all know how it goes.
since I had TWRP installed , I had to download the RUU from HTC to do the first update to .12 , it went well 2 weeks ago when I first posted here, except it wiped out TWRP. then 3 days ago my phone started complaining , when ever I tried to change permissions on apps , with a message telling me to turn off draw over on the apps, all the searches on google, sent me to people telling me it was Twighlight causing the problem , EXCEPT I don't have that app installed, then it said something about turning off sidekeyborad? I never found it, I hard reset the phone, and as usual it ruined some of my contacts ?? I always loose 5 people I call all the time.
will post in here what new bugs crop up with this PART 2 upgrade of 7.0 nougat 63 things updating now
adios :cyclops:

That's not a bug but a security feature introduced by google. It's meant to prevent malicious apps from making you accept things/permissions you don't want (keyword: tapjacking). Go to settings > app > open the three dot menu > configure apps > draw over other apps. There you can revoke that permission from any suspicious app.
There is an article about tapjacking on the xda portal if anyone wants more information. It's called "How tapjacking made a return with android marshmallow - and nobody noticed". Btw, the article explains why the security feature isn't perfect, too. (Using xda labs at the moment I can't add a direct link to the article. However google should be able to find it.)
I just hope for the classic Non-GP Sense UI. The one with the Grid View Recent Apps.
HTC One M9 is the last chance for the full Sense experience on Nougat, because is the last Non-GP HTC that is being updated.

Update changelog doesn't provide many information...
Just some carrier specific things and some system security improvement.
I didn't notice any differences in UI or overall performance.
But anyway my device run smoothly from day one.
What update you received? B131? Or other?

Yes you will receive the notification, but in most cases update fail to install due to various reasons, first is that system has been modified.
I was never afraid of bricking my devices and tried to see what happens. After restarting, when I saw the twrp logo, I was a bit sceptical, but after 2 minutes or so, phone restarted in stock recovery and finishing update

I performed update process automatically, just press install after download has finished.
After some checking device rebooted in twrp and after some installation in twrp ( modem.img and things like this. I don't pay attention to device ), device rebooted second time, this time in stock recovery and finished the installing process.
But as far as I know even the dload method is safe. Your data partition is safe. As long as you update.app is from an update.zip , not from a stock full rom.
Update: I checked received package and didn't see any format or erase command on /data partition
It should be safe to flash even with dload method

Probably you're update had a bootloader update also...
My bootloader is still unlocked after update.
I really don't know what contain all updates.
And be aware that any rooted device can get bricked by official updates. So if you need your data partition, you have 2 options
1- stay with stock software and receive updates officially
2- experiment what you want with your device, but do a backup first or prepare yourself for data loss
I had a lot of luck with this update. Is first time when this happens to me
I've been reading numerous threads in this forum in regards to rooting but I cannot unlock the bootloader.
Been trying to follow snowwolf's unofficial method to the letter but to no avail. Tried both .bat and manually doing fastboot .raw. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69001601&postcount=2.
Currently at the latest update as of today and have NOT rooted or unlocked bootloader prior to this.
USB debugging is also set to on.
I have uploaded screenshots of the error messages and information of the phone.
https://imgur.com/a/XPSDP
Any suggestions/opinions are welcome.
It's possible the unofficial unlock method was blocked in the newer firmware (bootloader) that you have installed. Try flashing the Marshmallow firmware, but you'll probably need to remove the checks in the updater script (first 7 lines or so). I'm not sure it'll work though, but worth a shot. If you can't downgrade though, then the only option is to use the official unlock method.
Yep, that seems to be the case. The official unlock method still works on the latest one and successfully rooted. Thank you for your help.
Sorry for the foolish question but what is the proper way to do a total clean "hard" reset to the latest version when its rooted? Just been messing with a lot of things and wanted to start anew since I'm relatively new to android from iOS.

You might need to flash stuff like recovery_ramdisk, recovery_vendor and recovery2 BUT am not really sure about the partitions and how they work together...
If it boots still up, connect with PC using HiSuite to re-install latest firmware
Last (and reliabily) solution is HWOTA on XDA

There are plenty solutions, written on this forum...
I had to downgrade to nougat via HiSuite and then DC unlock was able to read out the bootloader code... If you have the code you could upgrade again to latest firmware, again HiSuite is helpful there...
Then search for a TWRP thread here and follow the instructions! Bit reading first is recommended, I ****ed the thing so badly, I needed 2 days to make it boot again!
I owned all nexus devices, pixel 2, 3 and even some OnePlus and Huawei is definitely the worst to handle, tricky stuff - so either research or repair to get the needed information  lol

It should provide the latest version of EMUI of recognizes your device correctly....
Otherwise Google for:
-how to 'dload' (with latest firmware from 'huawei firmware finder', you can get a windows version of it from their homepage, if you have no working Android device, in best case you directly download to the phone and use recovery to upgrade)
-on XDA is a project called 'HWOTA', which my help you updating
