Huawei Customer Service

Long story short, need some information on sending my 6P to Huawei. It is soft bricked and nothing I do allows me to boot.
I'm in the US, and I am currently chatting with the rep online. She asked me if I had rooted the phone, to which I said no. I assume that because I would unlock, root and flash a custom ROM that my warranty would be voided.
What is the best, easiest way to send the phone off to them? Yes it was unlocked and rooted, yes it was running a Dirty Unicorn ROM. Was on the newest TWRP. Phone calls wouldn't work, yet data and texts did. After several tries to reboot and other things, problem still precisted. Tried to flash the current ROM I was on, still nothing. When I tried to revert to my backup (maybe a week or two old), it wouldn't boot.
I have read a bunch of threads and tried every form of flashing and images to get this thing to boot, no go. I never went to Nougat, have always been on MM and only Dirty Unicorns.

Have you flash stock image from Google and tested from there. No root,etc?

I have flashed the stock image, MTC20? and the MTX19X.
Don't know what you mean by 'no root'. I have root, I haven't tried to remove it to flash things. Is that what you mean?
What state should the phone be in if I'm to mail it in? Does it need to be flashed stock and locked? Was there any harm in telling Huawei rep that I was unlocked, rooted & running custom ROM?

Before you send your phone in you should flash back to completely stock, un-rooted, and re-lock the bootloader.
Unlocking the bootloader and installing custom roms voids your warranty.
Can you access your bootloader by holding power + volume down?
If so, then use Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit
Boot your phone into the bootloader and then;
1. Input your Model Type (Huawei Nexus 6p)
2. Click "Flash Stock + Unroot"
3. Select a factory image from the dropdown ( ie Android 6.0.1 - Build MTC20F)
4. Select "Automatically download + extract the image..."
5. It will download and flash the image.
If still bootlooping, then hold the power button down until the phone turns off, and reboot back into the bootloader and
6. Click the "OEM Lock" button in Wug's Toolkit, then follow the prompt on your phone.

Has anyone had any luck with sending their 6P to Huawei (I believe in Texas) and getting back their phones (new or refub.)?

Is my P9 Lite really bricked ?

Hi everyone, first message here, and not for the best..
Here's the story.
Yesterday evening, I tried to install Xposed Framework, but I was stuck in a boot loop (even when I tried to uninstall it), so I "dirty" flashed a Nougat build on my device. Phone was back alive, despite a bug from the mobile data.
Today, I had to restart my phone because of this issue, but now, my phone is somehow bricked. Bootloader is relocked (I dont know how the **** it happened), so I can't do anything, as the phone is stuck on a bootloop, and I don't have TWRP anymore. I tried fastboot, but nothing is working on it. Even VNS Toolkit is no use. I tried a force update with the UPDATE.APP, but I'm still in a bootloop.
So, tl;dr, phone bricked, bootloader locked, no recovery, and no code to unlock my bootloader.
Please XDA people, help me !!

You should try to get your unlock code and unlock your bootloader again, you can find the informations of the phone on the original box.
DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL XPOSED ON NOUGAT, there is still no Xposed version for nougat.

It was Xposed for MM, so after my fail, I decided to update to N.
On the box, I have IMEI1 and IMEI2, and the SN. But I don't have the "PIN" verification code (you can only get it via HMI code..) So I think I'll never be able to unlock my BL :/

I had the same issue lost my bootloader unlock code but there is another way to get bootloader unlock code: DC unlocker
Just follow instructions on there site for p9 lite
On the tool set the manufacturer to "huawei phones" not modems. I made that mistake too first
You need to buy 4 credits to unlock = 4 euros so the tool is not free

It is not a goodluck at all, because i requested my bootloader code there and they sent it to me after a day of waiting...

Hi everyone, quick update.
I tried to get my BL unlock code from Huawei, but they wanted my Product ID (how nice of them..)
DC-Unlocker is no use for me, as I only could boot into fastboot.
My service provider helped me a lot, and told me to wipe data/factory reset via the Vol+/Power button method. Somehow, it kinda worked, because now the phone is booting, I have the configuration running, selecting language, region, Wifi, but after Wifi+ option, I have the "Checking Info" window, but it crash, and goes back to Wifi+ config.
So now, I'm stuck here...
UPDATE 2:
I managed to get my BL unlock code !!
But now, fastboot is not letting me unlock it (fastboot: command not allowed.) I'm desperate !! Any reasons why ?

Phone is FRP Locked, I'm pretty sure I can't go further because of this

Fastboot wont work bcause you havent enabled usb debugging mode and you cant enable bcause you cant boot in the rom

how to remove bootloader unlocked warning

Hi everybody, I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to remove the bootloader unlocked warning? it became so annoying after upgrading to 7.1.1 and now it stays for at least 15 to 20 seconds ?

You can't, you would have to modify the bootloader to get rid of it, which is pretty dangerous and could hard brick your phone.

Ok, but as I know the only version that doesn't contain this warning screen is B20, so If I started from the very beginning by flashing back the B20 then removing the bootloader from the next versions (B27,B29,B15,B19) and flashing them from twrp would that work? ?

If you are going to try that then just flash the b20 stack first and see if it boots.
Not completely sure whats in the bootstack zips but I've always assumed it is bootloader and modem.
Pretty sure 6.x bootloader will not work on 7.x but you can always try it out.

Tbh I don't have the courage to try it that's why I'm asking may be one of our good developers knows the right way to do it ?

I had permission denied in 8) so i retried in twrp recovery.
All went fine.
And also the annoying boot screen ("that your device is corrupted due to unlock state...") is GONE too...."

I actually find the unlocked bootloader convenient. Rather than try to remember which buttons to press to get into recovery/fastboot, I can just do it from that screen so long as one of the volume buttons is depressed during the first 5 seconds of booting. I don't find it intrusive or bothersome at all.
If yours is taking 20 seconds to start booting then there is some other problem. It should start within ~5 seconds.

I was already unlocked when I updated to 7.1.1. You can try this method it's so simple and easy. Tbh I'm not sure if it will work on 7.1.1, but I think all what you need to do is to revert back to 7.0 then unlock bootloader, take the ota update and flash twrp from fasboot and from twrp flash SuperSu 2.79 for root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/edl-emergency-dl-mode-twrp-unlock-t3553514/page25

NO OEM unlocking with S off

I just bought a new Verizon HTC 10 that is S off. The bootloader is locked and I don't have an option to check the OEM unlocking, just isn't there.

Any idea on how I can get the OEM unlocking to show so I can unlock the bootloader?
The only thing I am not sure of is that there is no simm card yet. Do I need to have my simm card in to get the OEM unlocking to appear.

If its S-off already there is no need for the bootloader to be unlocked.

Thanks for the help the reason I ask is because I thought I read that the bootloader has to be unlocked in order to root and install a custom rom. I've done this before but always started from a factory phone so getting one s off already is new to me.

The 10 is a little different.
Locked and unlocked work basically the same, and it's my understanding it's suggested to be S-OFF locked from Sunshine crew.
I've been S-OFF locked since release of vzw S-OFF and everything works perfectly.

Just doesn't work
I have been trying for hours to get it to accept Supersu but it just doesn't. I flashed TWRP and when I try to flash Supersu it goes through the motions and says everything is OK but my phone never gets rooted. I was thinking of trying fastboot OEM unlock. I don't know how they achieved S off and read that may have something to do with it. I wanted to flash the new Venom ROM but maybe I will have to stick with TWRP and the stock ROM if I can't get it figured out. Thanks for your help so far I do appreciate it.

I would leave the phone locked.
If you plan on flashing Venom, and you have already flashed twrp, there really is no need to root the current rom. Just make a backup of it in twrp (just in case) and flash Venom. Just make sure you select the correct firmware that matches the phones firmware in the aroma installer.

If you're S-OFF. You shouldn't have any issues flashing the latest N firmware for your device, latest TWRP, and then latest N ViperROM. And since Viper comes pre-rooted, you will only need flash ViperROM.
Get a hold if you need some help, I'll do my best to assist.

Andy Bones in May I was asking you about flashing the Viper rom then got sidetracked. Now I would like to do it. I have an HTC 10 I bought that was already S off and locked. I installed TWRP 3.1.0.1 and my firmware is 6.0.1. I tried to flash Viper 10_5.9.0. I use the 6.0.1 button when asked which firmware I want to flash to although the 7. is already checked. Everything installs OK as far as the info page goes but when trying to restart the HTC start screen comes up and the phone just hangs. Reflashed backup and the phone is back to how I got it now. If you can tell me what I am doing wrong that would be great thanks.

My HTC 10 is S-OFF Locked bootloader, this is what Sunshine crew suggests, and works the same (on the 10, previous devices are different) as unlocked bootloader.
It seems you are in a simple bootloop. Would need recovery log to see more, and Viper devs would be able to understand their stuff better than myself.
I do have suggestion as to what I would do.
You are on 6.0.1, you should update to the latest Nougat 2.41.605.18. Either by flashing the firmware, or flashing the RUU. Read up on encryption with Nougat.
Everything you said you did sounds correct to me. And as are as selecting the correct firmware in Aroma, that is for the fingerprint to work, and can easily be fixed if you accidentally select N instead of MM.
I hope this helps in some way.

Tried 3-4 methods , 3 PCs , manually installed drivers and wasted 4hrs but all got zero results. Everytime after clicking on "unlock.cmd" nothing happens. Just command window shows erase all devices ... something like that.
I am currently on latest build i.e. 311.
Any help is welcomed.

If you don't want to claim warranty, you can use the official unlock tool to unlock your boot loader. But you should be aware of its issues.
