Custom ROM with VoLTE(Jio 4G) Daily Driver - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Community,
I am currently on OxygenOS 3.5.6.
Since this is my only device, I would like to try a stable custom ROM with minimal to no bugs with VoLTE (Jio) working.
I have been following Oneplus community forums and came across issues where in there are frequent network drops and bootloops on certain roms. As this is my daily driver, I don't get much time to experiment with various ROM.
Please suggest.
Thanks

Cosmic OS

For a daily driver give slim6 a shot, its smooth, boots up as quick as OOS, currently getting ~5hrs SOT so battery is quite good, and best of all its xposed compatible
If you want to compare options, I also found H2OS to be rock stable as well, I personally just wanted to change after using it as my daily driver for over a year LOL.
P.S. I'm not 100% about VoLTE on slim6 so best double check that

I gave Cosmic a try. It's a nice ROM but I didn't like the stock phone dialer and camera.
Is it possible to flash OxygenOS 3.5.6 camera app and phone app on this? I really like the phone app from OxygenOS 3.5.6
Citrus was good but the fingerprint lag, persistent HD notification and Google Assistant setup every time trying to initiate it made me switch back to OOS 3.5.6.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I've tried HydrogenOS in the past. Don't like the UI.
Looking for a stable, bug free, without fingerprint lag, nougat based daily driver material.

Try AospExtended from the xda forums.it will fullfill all your's needs.

You can use the latest pixel phone dialer. It is much better than the one present in custom roms. Just install it and set it as the default phone app. Alternatively, you can flash the full open gaaps or using aroma installer

First flash H2OS and then lineage-14.1-20170214-nightly-oneplus2-signed.zip with the VoLTE firmware fix. Perfectly stable for me. It does reboot once in a few days, which I think is acceptable.

Try Xenon HD! It's super smooth compared to all other ROMs!

All 7.x roms currently suffer from random reboots and network drops. I tried a few roms and switched back to OOS .
Oneplus need to release the kernel sources for 3.5.x in order for custom ROM makers to uptake and fix this issue.

Best STABLE ROM released for Redmi 2?

Hello, I got my cousin's Redmi 2, so I was hoping to put Custom ROMs. I've been searching around, but didn't seem to find the best stable ROM. I need a daily driver, and it doesn't need to be Marshmallow, but an upgrade from KitKat would be nice. I love the Lollipop UI. But still, I give my preference to the most stable ROM, since I don't want juggle around every single custom ROM available.
Thank You!
UPDATE 21/03.
Thank you guys for the poll! MIUI was getting all RAM sucky so I needed to get a Custom ROM. I've tried Nexus Experience, Resurrection Remix, HTC Remix, and Kuma's CyanogenMod 13.
Nexus Experience: It has same user interface you get from Nexus, but it lacks multitasking capabilities. Besides most of the ROMs in stock looks like this, so I wouldn't recommend this. Link to Download, Credits:Nexus Exp. team
HTC Remix: This ROM is bulky in size, I've waited for 3-4 hrs for it to complete the download, and when I installed, the recovery ended with an error. But from the reviews, it said it has some camera bugs with the stock cam but Snapdragon cam is working. It didn't have the HTC Dialer also. If you switched from an HTC and want the HTC UI, you should take this. Link to Download, Credits:(--light--)
Resurrection Remix: This ROM was good, but compared to CM13, this ROM sucked battery more and at the first boot, the status bar had some lag issues, but after one or two reboots, it was working perfect. Besides that, no problem, this is the second best ROM. Link to Download, Credits:nick37332001
Kumajaya's CM13: This is by far the best ROM I've tried. Battery is the best, considerable less lag while multi-tasking, good gaming performance, and the basic MM UI. I didn't find any bugs at all. If you're looking for the best ROM, this is the one. Link to Download Credits:ketut.kumajaya
I've also found that, newbies to ROM flashing tend to think Official ROMs and Builds are better than Unofficial ones. This is a wrong perception. Kuma's build's are unofficial, but it had a much better performance compared to Nexus Experience. What counts is how much work the devs put into this.
Hope this thread becomes helpful to both users as well as developers. Great work, devs. Hope you keep up the good work.
Hello Venkatesh, Im using 2014818 too. Can you tell me which ROM are you using? Also, even after I flashed Custom recovery, I still see stock recovery, but from there Im able to access TWRP. is this expected behavior? Please tell stable roms for Redmi 2 2014818

I am on stock miui brother. First root your device, install flashify and flash twrp from flashify. You are done.

Blisspop ROM
I have flashed Blisspop ROM, run smoothly until now ( more than 2 days)
Kumajaya's Marshmellow as daily driver. Using since last december, never crash-rebooted and rare bugs. Battery could have been better. And camera, obviously you can't beat MIUI's stock camera but it's all right.
cm 13 by kuma is already stable because basic functionality of redmi 2 is now working been using till now
Thanks guys! I've updated my OP, with reviews.
@rohitaar I'm too on cm 13 its smooth stable, but have you tried aosp caf,if yes how's it? I like idea of pure aosp ROM on which I could use xposed if I want any feature. Please review it if you can
I must add the (at least) here, none of the MM ROMs has a working adb, and some of has GPS issues

Do not believe this guy, I've been using ADB for like every ROM to batch install the APKs which I've backed up from the Stock MIUI.
ADB works perfectly. Also, I love Here Maps more than Google Maps, and it has no problems at all. Brother, if you have any issues with your phone, you should check it with the manufacturers, or at least other users, see if they have any issues.

@rohitsonone No.. I had a look at it, but the UI seemed too Ice-Sandwich type! You see the screenshots! Guess I'm happy with CM13! You can use xposed in CM 13, no problems, although I don't want any tweaks.
I dont think kuma's cm13 ROM has best battery. I mean it is not to hurt him, but the marshmallow changes which forces us to enable gps for wifi functionality is the thief. It sucks battery like hell. But cm13 of kuma had awesome camera and it had no lags at all !! Very clean and smooth UI. As the kernel source has been released for redmi 2 we will have wait for some good battery management tweaks. PS: I am using kuma's cm12.1 as my daily driver and it has no problem at all except camera quality and the battery management(better than cm13 but still . . .)
can anyone help me with the audio bug? {audio playing with speaker and headphones.} the roms i used tends to work normally for 10 reboots. but after some reboots the audio bug kicks in. audio playing with speaker and headphones. hope thats the bug with roms. I have used Ressurection Remix both 5.1 and 6.0.

[QUERRY] Stable Redmi 2 Custom Roms

Please anybody tell me if there is a bugless (stable) custom rom for Xiaomi Redmi 2, preferably Lollipop or Marshmallow.
I think the more stable is Mokee 6.0.1. But I have used at two days only.
Lineage OS 14.1, all works, exept the useless VoLTE
Mokee is suggested. I used it for around 3 months and it was most stable and best rom I have ever used.
mokee which one would be better 6.0 or 7.1 ?

6.0.1 I think because is more stable for daily use (in five days, zero bugs and no one reboot). :good:

I've tried roms like resurrection remix, lineage os and nexus experience
in all these roms i faced random reboots and network problem
my wifi network is stable but in all these roms i faced no internet connection even though the signal was full
same problem in my cellular data
so i am curious whether these bugs will be there in this rom

Like I said, no reboots, no bugs in five days. Internet is functioning normally, as well as all the functions of the phone. You can test this ROM, which is probably the most stable and usable daily for redmi 2. If you try Mokee, use this configuration to Viper4android (yeah, it's stock :good: http://www.enrepublic.com/2016/04/how-to-setup-viper4android.html
Thanks
I'll give it a try
one question though
is this rom pre rooted?

Yes. Only activate this in development options. This ROM come with Aegis (very powerfull similiar with the greenify) and Viper4android stock, both modified and exclusive for Mokee. :good:
Report: six days and zero reboot!
I will recommend both Mokee(Marshmallow) and Resurrection Remix(Marshmallow).
Nexus Experience Rom is also recommended for stock experience.

What is the most stable Oreo ROM for daily use? [MOTOG4 ATHENE]

I know there are some common bugs, but I know they'll be fixed soon or later. Meanwhile I just want to try Oreo in my phone with an stable ROM. Thanks in advance!
I bet everyone will name a different rom, but I would suggest Omni Rom, because the developer is pretty quick with fixes. If you don't like Omni, you could try unofficial Lineage 15.1 32bit.
I would definitely not use a 64 bit version, because of the memory leak problems, at least not until we have Motorola's Oreo Kernel sources and drivers.
Personally I wouldn't use any Oreo rom as my daily driver, especially since stock rom has very good performance and battery backup.
I was using AICP but the dev is currently busy with other things, so it hasn't had a working update in a while. RR is pretty good as well. However, if you're not willing to deal with memory leaks, Omni is the way to go.

I used RR for a week, but the memory leaks were just too bad. H e c c, every single time someone would send me something on Messenger and the chat bubble would appear, my phone would freeze. And while it is true that Omni doesn't suffer from memory leaks, I found it very laggy even after trying clean flashes of multiple builds over time. And yes, Night Light and LiveDisplay were off. I was quite happy with Nitrogen OS at some point, but, if I'm right, it wasn't updated in a while. I'm currently trying a clean flash of AOSiP and I am quite surprised, the ROM is extremely fluid and, even after getting all of my apps from RR back up and running, the RAM didn't get eaten up yet. So I would recommend giving it a try, but every ROM has different features, and everyone has different tastes. So you'll need to do some testing until you find one to suit your preferences. Good luck!

How Xperia SP is doing with Oreo roms?

I'm a long time using XOSP Nougat and out of flashing scene and i'm thinking of using Oreo on my device now.
Which Oreo rom is running more stable and smooth even with a good number of user apps installed?
I'm using LineageOS 15.1 (latest build). It works well. It's more responsive now compared to Nougat (thanks to Android Go). Battery life is the same, although if you modify the cpu governor to make it less likely to go at high frequencies you can expect a bit more.

You could try reflashing your ROM from TWRP or any other recovery installed . Make sure you wipe Dalvik Cache / Cache before you flash the ROM again .
Well as far as I have tested in my Xperia SP(C5302) , my top-picks for Oreo ROMs are:
1. XenonHD - It is the fastes Oreo ROM on Xperia SP I have tested yet . I did face a bit of heavy battery draining , but after flashing a custom kernel , the combo was perfect!
2. Lineage OS - I did not face a single issue with this ROM yet and the battery backup is also good.
3. Cosmic OS - Its based on AOSP and is pretty smooth

what custom kernel you flashed?
It's been a while since I was here...
Great to see the active development still, I'm picking up a SP next week & was wondering what ROM is best for smoothness & speed, but with battery life in mind, I'm not looking for flagship performance of course, but I want the quickest & smoothest definitely, up to now I'm hearing it's XenonHD is this correct?,
Also the ROM needs to have AdrianDC's music light effects implemented, this is a absolute must as this is something that was missing in the earlier years of development when I first had the SP, link attached below https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73049970&postcount=399
Thanks in advance guys for any help & recommendations
LineageOS 15.1 has the music light effects, and it runs good for me.

Lineage OS 15.1 is too laggy and sluggish.
Go with Adrian's AOSP Oreo. It has light effects included, does fine with Pico GApps. Smooth and good battery life.
Edit: After flashing the 27/02 build, it runs very good and smooth. Maybe it was a dodgy flash.

Best Pie rom?

Recently there have been many Pie rom for our device, I am certain many of you might have tried. As far as I am concern I tried pie rom in the start of their release but I switched back to oreo. As title says Which is best Pie rom till now? Recommendation should be focused on battery life, stability and customisation. As always Thank You.
Generally all pie ROMs have good battery life..
Bt the stability and encryption are my main issues....
I have tried ARROW OS official version(voLTE didn't work for me) , PIXEL EXPERIENCE didn't boot up and currently I'm using NITROGEN OS unofficial =which supports voLTE and has quiet a number of customisations and moreover it is stable also.
"NITROGEN has great battery backup and most importantly it doesn't support encryption?(i hate encryption).
IN the past 4 days i didn't even face a single random reboot.
*Bt it is not that smooth and you feel slow..
So I'm thinking of trying HAVOC OS unofficial...
Will update about it once i try it...
*Update
Tried HAVOC OS unofficial.
Everything is better than NITROGEN OS
and the only issue is encryption.
Hope you can bye pass it...
I have flashed pixel experience pie but facing encryption problem
What is encryption?
I want to flash pie rom on my redmi 3s but, i see everywhere peoples are talking about encryption issue. What is it?

I have been using Aex extended for quite some time now. It's the most stable, I tried many in the meantime but most of them failed to impress me for different reasons.
I saw few members are Praising Syberia official/unofficial, but I haven't tried yet.
Aex Extended pie will be around by Dec 12 otherwise oreo is almost perfect. Wonderful BB/performance balance. More than enough customisation.
Havoc Unofficial by Weritos is really Good... Performance, battery and Customisations...

Try disable dm-verity from latest twrp??
I am using superior os... I have not used any other pie rom... But this one seems to be completely fine for me... Volte, wifi, hotspot all are working great... It comes with gcam 5.1...I am a newbie in this field so i do not know how to exactly check bb... But yes while playing games it last for around 4 hrs.... And as for customizations there are tons of options to customize
I tried many roms for my redmi3s and from my experience I found that PixysOs is the best Rom.
It is smooth and battery consumption by it is very less...and you will also find no. Of customizations..in it.
I surely recommend PixysOs Android Pie Rom installation in your land device .
Till now no other Rom gives that much stability and customizations.:good:
