[Q] [5.0] 3G not available after upgrade [SOLVED]

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I upgraded my N4 to Lollipop and everything went well, except for the fact that I only have EDGE mobile data connection and not 3G.
I tried several things:
- Used other modems from Kitkat and hibrids
- Re-flashed everything (Lollipop)
And the result was the same: NO 3G (H) available, only E (Edge). I ended up soft braking the phone so I used NRT to do a full clean install and re-installed 5.0 from stock (still no 3G, off course).
Does anyone experienced this? Any pointers as to what might be going on?
Help will be appreciated.

Maybe check preffered network in settings or flash a custom kernel, since you have tried pretty much everything

Yeap, I checked that. Thanks!
I now went back to Kitkat stock and still the same. It might be the network, but my wife's phone is working on 3G.
I'm gonna keep trying

It was indeed a network issue, sorry !
I called the company and it was solved in 10 sec with a "line reset".

Seems to be quite stable for its early state.
Known issue is that most apps can only read from external SD, but not write because of changes in storage management of Marshmallow.
There are also voices saying LTE & 3G are not working.
Please test and report

I have already flashed today's nightly and maybe, later on, I can sort out if it has been already fixed...

I hava had no problem with LTE/3G since day1.

I only get either G, E, H or H+ connection, but not yet 3G or LTE...

I had no data with 31st december nightly, came back to cm12.1.
I look forward this cm13 is stable !

My xiaomi Mi Band no longer works with the cm-13.0-20160112-NIGHTLY-klteduos. Just can not be detected by ROM. Someone with the same problem?

You have to switch to other sim and turn that sim to 2G ( u may not turned to LTE before but it automatically turned into LTE) then switch back to data sim the ntry to change it to LTE or 3G..

Possible the same Problem in my reason. The mifit APP detect the miband but can Connect with it because the miband think its still connected with an other phone.
Next update i unpair first.

I just flashed cm13 and found 2 bugs so far.
1: no setting for disabling either sim cards.
2: no setting for not pressing ok after inserting pin to unlock phone.
Anysolutions yet??

No. CM 13 has not been officially launched yet. It is still under development and proceeds step by step.

I have updated to stock 6.0.1 and updated Bootloader and Modem accordingly.
But from then on, I can't install CM13!
it gets in boot loop.
Has anybody been able to install CM13 after updating bootloader to 6.0.1?

Redmi 3s Prime data speed dropping to E and G

Hi all,
I have bought a Redmi 3s Prime last week. One problem I am facing is that if you turn on data services, if it is idling, speed drops to E and even G. The only way to get it back is to manually change network preference type from settings. What could be the problem? Is it a hardware issue?
Android version 6.0.1
MIUI version 8.2.5.0 (MALMIDL)
Please help.

This is a known issue.
Is you have root, try to install Networl Signal Guru, then disable Edge (2g) frequencies.
Some people solve it using a second sim...

Second SIM even if dummy one will solve this problem, I'm using this option and managing my 32GB wisely as you will lose your sdcard slot. Nothing terrible for me as I need it the 2nd SIM anyways.

Your problem is well known, but still no solution from xiaomi.
Best i can suggest is that u check which frequencies your carrier uses.
If u got root, install Network Signal Guru.
Try disabling one of used WCDMA frequencies and then force 3G. if it doesnt work, try to disable the other frequencies

Also, I have installed today fedosis LOS build, and now finally I got stable LTE. Must be something in kernel...

I had LOS installed, and the problem this guy said was also there

Could be that xiaomi updated their modem files

Where can I get the latest build? When I go from updater, it says there are no updates and mine is the latest version...

Switch to global dev rom you will get the latest one. Miui 9 v 7.9.8
Better you make clean install with MiFlashTool via EDL.
Search fastboot rom here.

Huge Problem, Cyanogen 14.0 - SIM not detected

Okay, I should of just stayed here to say first...
I decided to flash cyanogen on my s4 due to bad battery life on the default sprint. I am using Tello as my provider and it was fine on stock firmware, however, I installed this galaxy-s4-sprint-cm14-cyanogenmod-14-nougat-rom from cyanogenmods dot org
Right after installing, as I got in, it said sim card not detected. I have no cellular signal
Is there anyway to fix this?

I just went to octos and it works fine with tello. Based on CM 13.0 and android 7.1.1, nice os and officially supported, which is why it works

i have the same issue but the sim wont detetct on my device only when i go on (4g) lte.....go to settings ...more...mobile network type...and select 3g

I decided to buy it because where I live my Xiaomi connects to the B7 but now that I have the Lenovo it seems as if it could only connect to the 3G. An operator (At & t) also uses the B5 for 4G but does not connect to it, only 3G.
There have also been many problems with the roms of the Lenovo team since they sell a version as global but it is not, it is only a hybrid version with deleted Chinese applications. Therefore it follows that there is no global version. I don't know if these problems have to do with connections.

Para que te agarre el 4g, si es que vives en cdmx es usarlo en movistar, yo me cambie de telcel a movi (porque ya me salia muy caro estar en telcel) y el celular agarra 4g sin problemas pero no 4.5g, eso si no se porque supongo que es problema de las bandas, saludos

My phone is with CN 11.0.575 and parched with the ZaZz version (The .bat 00_flashrom.bat anywhere), i already have TWRP Recovery and now is rooted with Magisk. I CAN HELP WITH AL THE PROBLEMS OF YOUR SOFTWARE, But, now i want to install the ROW Secure 11.0.284 version, i cant, i dont know if is the version of my QFIL, the drivers, but the process just arribe to system_3.img and stay every time that ypu want. I dont know, but i want to try with that ROM. I just can with the CN 11.0.575 ROM, i areally want to try with ROW, im using QFIL 2.0.1.9 .

I have very similar problem in fact the same I believe
When I start or recieve a call my current 4G full signal strength connection drops immediately 3G and the signal strenght become very poor. On the other hand while surfing on the internet there is no quality drop.
I have run a diagnistic test to my sim card and I get an error. I hope you have any information about it.
I am currently using 11.0.325 ST Global ROW. But on official stock rom the situation was the same.

It seem you have the Volte option not activated.
Check in your setting or maybe not activated by your operator ( turkcell by your mcc)
But i cant read turkey , i let you check that.
It's not a band issu, because you have 4g before call.

Acaba de salir una actualización de la ROW. Buscala, se instala por medio de Fastboot igual que la ZaZz pero es la ROW.

have you tried with Chinese ROMs? or with this menu * # * # 4636 # * # * on dial. It gives you to choose the connection priority and some of the calls.

I've got the same problem in Russia. If the 4g is strong enough, then, the incoming call is OK. If the 4g signal is poor, or there is 3G or 2G signal, then when I answer phone the other side does not hear me, because my phone's microphone doesn't work. The problem is in the proximity sensor. To solve the problem you need to use to install Truephone app, and switch off the pre-installed google phone. Truephone does not switch off the screen. Another solution is to install 575 CN firmware.

Try to use Signal Network Guru app. There is an option to activate\deactuvate the bands manually.

4g problems and sound
I also have problems with 4g connection (it always stays at two bars of H+, Vodafone network,EU), can anyone post a tutorial how to solve this ?!? Also the person I'm talking to WITHOUT headphones hears me really bad.

Unlocked, twrp recovery and magisk.

Change the global one it's useless.
Unlock bootloader and flash Zazza Rom Base on China 1.1.080. you'll no notifications problem.

I bought a chip that uses band 2 for 4G and I bring 2 chips. I applied your solution it helped thank you. But it is not fully solved. I tried all roms ( official, Zaza version, global version) but the problem always exist. Can we fix this sensor or the problem is about the antenna?

Yes, we (4PDA Russian community) are close to solve it. We found that the problem is in EFS partition. That partition contains the info about all kinds of phone's networks and IMEI also, and we have an opinion that only 575 CN firmware is totally ok for the sensors and antennas. So it is a great idea, but it has not been tested yet. For the first you need to install 575 CN via QFIL, 2nd - to install TWRP, 3rd - to backup the EFS partition via TWRP. To save that backup on SD-card. Then install the global firmware (the latest 375, for example)? TWRP again to restore the EFS from backup. It has not been tested yet.
