Do I need to unroot for stock kernel? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the G900H Exynos variant of the S5 series devices. Currently running XtreStoLite v2.6 with custom kernel Green Apple v1. Prior to installing the ROM I wasn't able to boot my device while Stock Kernel was selected in the aroma addon or any of the other kernels until I downloaded official Green Apple v1 kernel which fixes that issue.
When I install stock kernel for the CPE6 firmware my phone when restarting shows Samsung boot logo and shows a black screen and doesn't move from there until I remove the battery boot into recovery and flash Green Apple kernel again after which I find that my phone is unrooted and need to be re-rooted.
My question is do you have to unroot your device before flashing stock kernel?

No

[Q] Galaxy S4 I9505 NL boots back in recovery after flashing 4.4.x ROM

Hi guys,
I have a little problem with my phone that makes it impossible to install 4.4 ROM's.
It keeps rebooting back in recovery or it hangs at the samung boot logo after i flash the rom.
With the CM 11 rom i managed to get past the samsung boot logo but sadly enough it gets stuck on boot(even after several wipes)
I always make sure to do all the wipes that are needed (normally provided in the rom thread)
4.3 roms install without problems btw.
Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 (Unlocked)
Bought in the Netherlands
I've tried a few recovery's:
philz_touch_6.07.9-jfltexx
openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-jfltexx
CWM_6.0.4.4_Non-Touch_GT-I9505
Also i've tried the following roms:
[AOSP] Official 4.4.2 - S4 Google Edition - RC2 - Feel the Experience of Nexus
cm-11-20131129-Albinoman887-jfltexx-port
[ANDROID 4.4.2][ROM][I9505] Echoe Kit Kat v.2.1 (OTA CUSTOMIZATION)
danvdh-GE-4.4.2-12192013
I really dont know how to fix this since there arent any threads for this problem.
Maybe my phone is just from a bad batch
Hope you guys can help me and thanks in advance!

NA6 -> Temasek V37 Bootloop at start -> Solved

Hi
I was on NA6 Kitkat (Rooted with CF auto root), and wanted to install V37 Temasek.
So, i installed latest CWM 6.0.4.6
I flashed V37 + Gapps (with all wipes done) = Bootloop at start
"Kernel is not blablabla enforcing" again & again...
Had to reflash stock NA6 to got a working N9005...
So, impossible to flash non TW roms for the moment ?
If this thread can avoid people to waste time like i did... :good:

Hello,
I have done some searching and would like to know if it is possible to deodexed my stock rooted rom.
Is there any easy way to deodexed without installing a whole other rom?

I would like to use the features in Rom Toolbox Pro to change the bootup logo and taskbar icons at this time.

Samsung j5 j500fn rooted

Hello, got a problem with my phone currently running performance rom v9 working great but its a 6.0.1 android and i would realy like to update to lineage 14.1 android 7.1 or any other rom but my phone boot loops can it be possible i use wrong gaps or wrong recovery. Dont realy know what to try next.. Any other rom boot loops only performance v9 witch is strange mind i folow the instructions. Any idea and help wil be apriciated thanks
Did try again now samsung logo apers and some time after random screen colurs apear and it freezes recovery works..
PERFORMANCE BOOST SPEED v9 ROM uses Marshmallow firmware, for 7.1 (Nougat) ROMs you need Lollypop firmware.
You can downgrade to Lollypop firmware by flashing stock ROM with Odin (download from Sammobile) or by installing the bootloader and modem from BOOTLOADER AND MODEM FOR J5 2015.
Also you need a recovery to Lollypop, like TWRP Recovery for Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015) or MultiRom for Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015).
Then you can flash any Android 7.1 ROM.
Read the instructions carefully on each thread
Many many thank for the great reply

i am using samsung galaxy j5 2015 v6.0.1 stock.... i have rooted my phone and have twrp3.0.2 recovery.... i tried to flash custom rom which was ressurection remix 5.8.2 with gapps 7.1 .... when i rebooted my device ... it showed samsung galaxy j5 logo..... above that was kernal is not seandroid enforcing set recovery to kernel..... and then there was a orage horizontal line on my logo and my screen slowly turned green.. ihave tried different roms posted on xda but same result... please help me out
thanks
It is because you flashed ROM that is ONLY for lollipop 5.1.1.
And you have 6.0.1, that is why those orange lines are appearing.
Now you have to flash stock firmware, and next time you want to flash custom ROM read carefully.
