Does anyone know where the setting is to set the default keyboard in Nougat? I can't seem to find it.

I figured it out in the GBoard app.

I wanna use aboard how would I set it as default

I found that turning the others off, then on again in settings left the last man standing as the default, but there's a better way, at least on my S7 (not edge).
Once you have the keyboard open, swipe down from the top of the screen, and there should be an option "Android System, Change Keyboard". Works for me, anyway.

Swipe, how to turn on?

This may turn out to be an inane question, but I have had my unlocked Galaxy S I9000 for two weeks and have not been able to figure out how to turn on the Swipe keyboard feature. I have suffered through the tutorial where the feature worked just fine but unless I overlooked something there was no mention of turning the feature either on or off. All of the feature's adjustments under the settings heading appear to be initiated so, what have I missed?
Thank you in advance.
On my hero I have to first go into SETTINGS, LANGUAGE & KEYBOARD, then de-select my htc keyboard and select swype

[Q] Samsung Keyboard - Language change - icon or spacebar ?

I have a Note 3 and suddenly out of nothing the keyboard changed template and instead changing languages by long pressing+sliding the space bar it now shows a globe icon wich must be pressed to select the language.
I have already messed with all possible settings in order to go back to the space bar method wich is much faster with no success.
I know it worked on the space bar way until a few days ago, and I see there was a Samsung Keyboard Update wich was installed.
Have someone here the same issue ? Anyone knows if it is possible to go back to the previous behavior ?
Thanks for any help on this.
Me too having same problem
I actually got the swipe for different language. but all of a sudden the globe appeared. i seriously dont know what i did. tried resetting keyboard settings. nothing works. thebutton takes spaceand irritating while typing.
Same here, it working fine. but suddenly have globe icon and everything mess up... then few days lster, keyboard suddenly back to normal and everything is fine again. This happened couple times and each time it last few days. Anyone know why and how to solve this permanently? Thanks for your help. ..

OK so I noticed that when I turn off the accessibility of my Pebble app (I have a Pebble watch) under settings, I can swipe the spacebar to change the input language but right when I turn on the accessibility of my Pebble app, I can no longer swipe the spacebar. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Thank you luckybun.
It worked for me, only the accessibility setting was for FBQuickview (that works with the Galaxy Gear). I disabled it under the accessibility setting and the spacebar started working again as a language changer.

OK! But...
I have 7 apps in accessibility list... And I DO want to use at least 4 of them...
Wristn - forwarding notifications to Sony SmartWatch
LastPass - filling passwords inside apps
NiLS Service - collect notifications in lock screen similar to iPhone
Desktop Notifications - forward notifications to browser plugins for Chrome and Firefox for displaying it at desktop
if I enable any of them, spacebar disables language switch function
I solved the issue by deactivating the Speed+ engine under Accessibility

[Q] greek keyboard change

I have both Greek and English selected on my Note 3 but I can't switch between the two at all. Swiping the spacebar does nothing and there's no globe button. The only way I can use the Greek keyboard is if Greek is the only input language selected. Then to switch back to English, I'll have to uncheck Greek and check English again. If both are selected, only English is shown on my keyboard..... I can't find a way to switch between them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I had the same situation and the reason was the greenify when you enable it says something about notification settings change and then the space bar switch between the two language dissappear! If you remove the greenify and reboot then everything is OK. I hope I helped you....

What firmware are you on? Are you rooted?
Here is how the Samsung keyboard looks for me inside the Samsung SMS app on firmware MJ7 (4.3) + the hack to enable extended symbols. In the Samsung keyboard there seems to no longer be an option to switch languages when you swipe over space (and I also use swiping as input method) but you can see a small button in the bottom-left (just to the right of the SYM key) and when you short-press on that I switch languages. The "swipe over space" option is still present in other keyboards and might be even a hidden option for the Samsung keyboard (but you might need root).

The only other idea that I have is to long-press on space. And eventually on the button that is two places left from space - after a long-press you might get to see a list and the button like a globe is the one that switches between languages.
Also check what other version you have on English and Greek after the > sign in settings - that part is not present in my firmware so extra settings might be there.
Also the language availability might depend on the app itself - so also do a test in the Samsung default SMS app.

How to Disable Swipe Up for Google?

When I swipe up, either from the bottom edge of the screen OR up on the fingerprint sensor, it opens the Google app. This is usually a setting I've been able to turn off in other tablets but can't seem to figure out how to do so on my new M3. It's bothersome, especially because the gesture is overly sensitive on the fingerprint sensor/navigator ie I will attempt to go back (short press) or go home (long press) but it will pick up an upwards swipe and open up Google which I can't stand (it keeps spoiling the latest TV episodes I haven't watched yet!). Anyone know how to disable this? Just uninstall/disable the Google app?
Had the same issue so I disabled Google now. Then I installed another browser Opera and Firefox and now my browsers are using this gesture. A slight upward motion over the scanner and it opens now. I've not found a way to disable it. I tried using on screen navigation but prefer the button.
The only reliable way to disable this gesture is to deactivate the sensor in the navigation menu and then in the same menu you have to activate the navigation bar.
Actually I found if you enable both methods of navigation you no longer get the swipe up gesture activating Google now. It's not the ideal situation but I can use either method.
I install swipelaunch disabler by hairy robot. Its in google playstore.
Problem solved
Thank you @teruhiko666 ! That appears to have solved it and I can turn off the on screen buttons.

Just got m3, it's very annoying to have that swipup gesture. Thank you for sharing, it's the best solution.
from "SwipeLaunch Disabler" description:
Important: For Marshmallow (Android 6), it is possible to disable the assist feature.
Follow below steps:
(1) goto "Settings > Apps > Advanced (the small gear icon) > Default Apps > Assists & voice input"
(2) select "none"

I believe this is what you are looking for: Go to Settings>General Management>Language and Input>Spelling correction - you may or may not have something there. Check it out.

I know exactly what you mean, I have that red line under words. I have installed Blackberry keyboard and selected it in the spelling correction settings.
I need that option too, desperately.
I had it with my Oneplus One and LineageOS with SwiftKey keyboard.
Now I'm using the same keyboad with synced contents on my S8+. But I guess the feature was not keyboard related, as it does not underline the incorrectly spelled words.
I'm posting here, because I couldn't find the topic in the S8+ forum. maybe anyone got a clue, how to enable the setting. Could also be a google feature, that is enabled/disabled by default. Since it's working the same way on my PC.
