Hi
how do i make 2 sims work on a S7. Do i have to write dual sim firmware.
Please give step by step instructions.
Thanks in advance
If it's international version of s7 935f you won't be able to use 2 sim cards

You need the fd model to use 2 sims.
There's a hack to get 2 sims working on a non FD version. It involves removing the plastic from 2nd sim and glueing only the metal part onto the SD card that you insert into the sim tray next to the 1st sim.

Incorrect, that "hack" is to get an sdcard working on dual sim fd phone. The non-fd phone only has one imei, inserting a second sim won't do you any good without a second imei.
Oh I think I mixed up my hacks. I meant this...

Oh that thing, ya that works on any phone, if you want to lose your ip68 rating than go right ahead.

So I purchased a used note 3 ( N900A )
I just switch to straight talk. So I had a full size sim and cut it down to fit my note 3 . When I try to go into my apn setting it says insert a sim or something like that.
I know the sims registering , to the phone I can read stuff from it.
So has any one went down the road I am . Is my sim locked or something like that.
Also there is an app called "Sim App." it will first say icc-id and give what looks like about 15-16 numbers then click ok it reads imei check sum gives 4 digits next reads random number gives 8 numbers.
then asks for an unlock code . If entered wrong it will say you have X amount of trys lefts.
Does this have anything to do with why my sim card is not registering to the phone?
Do any sim card works in the phone? Does your sim card work in other phones? Was the phone tested with a sim card before purchase? Was the phone locked to AT&T?

Yes if I switch the card to the other phone . It works.
Im not sure if this matters the orginal phone was a throw away`alcatel. Its not a smart phone.
Are you using the SIM card in another phone that also uses a micro sim? Does the note 3 recognize any SIM cards?

I only have this one sim .
The note is reading the sim card with certain aps . You know how if you up power up a phone , missing a sim it will say so if you pull down the top banner usually with a message like insert sim. When you pull down the top banner it doesn't say that . There is no warning about missing a sim . So it recognizes it has one . I can read stuff off the sim card when i open certain aps that are meant to access sim cards but when I go to change APN setting it will say insert sim card to access network settings.
Without another sim card to try in the phone, it could be the way the sim card was cut or there is something wrong with the phone.
Is the phone sim unlocked? Did you try a sim card in the phone before buying it?

I dont think the phones sim is unlocked.
No I didnt try a sim . It was from a family member so Im not to worried. The sim card works in my throw away straight talk phone.
How do you unlock the phones sim?
BTW thank you for your help.
In order to determine if the phone is sim unlocked, power off the phone, insert a sim from another carrier, and power up the phone. If phone asks for a network unlock code, the phone is not sim unlocked and you will need to get an unlock code.
Was the Note 3 n900a from AT&T?
Hi Everyone, my research found that I can insert 2 Sims in any s8 but only on some market the 2nd tray is enabled. Seems that in Germany it is not.
Is there a way in how to unlock it? And use a normal s8 with dual sim and best would be still get OTA updates
The second tray for micro sd card I guess. Not for the SIM card.
No the tray allows to put in a sim also if you flip it 9. Degree
Also the duos version seem to contain the same hardware and same tray but work with dual sim so I guess it's only software deactivated
You need a second imei which only comes with the fd versions.
As per the title is it possible to enable dual SIM mode on the 727 if I have a dual SIM tray from the XT720?
no
No. There is not a physical slot for another Sim card. X727 just has one Sim card slot.
I know it has one slot my question is what if I use the xt720 dual SIM tray in the 727. Is it possible then?

seems that you don't understand how this works.
the X727 has a single card tray due to it having a single SIM card slot on the board.
putting a dual SIM tray won't work as the phone doesn't have the second slot on the board, the dual SIM tray won't even fit due to it.
think as if you were putting a 20cm screw in a 10cm deep screw hole, do you get the analogy?

Does anyone know if you can replace the sim tray on US branded S10's with a dual sim tray from the Global? And would the Dual SIM feature work?

Usually it doesn't work that way as there should be pins connected to the motherboard inside the phone for the second sim card.

If they make a conversion for the S10 then of course it would work. It worked for the S7 and S8, but without looking I don't know what version phone they're making the conversions for but I know that Simore and MagicSim made adapters for the older model phones. You need to realize though that it's dual sim standby and not active dual sim since both Sims will be sharing one modem and only one can be used at a time.
I have the global 2025 on t-mobile and running A11. I'm wondering:
1. How do I know if dual sim is working if it's greyed out?
2. My phone only came with a one card sim tray, can I use a dual card sim tray out of an older model oneplus phone?
3. What about e-sim, is that a possibility?
Thanks

Do you have one or two IMEI's when you dial. *#06#
If you have two then I'd say maybe get a dual SIM tray or go to a shop and test one with another SIM..
Strictly speaking if it has two IMEI's then you should be good.
Not sure about eSIM as we don't tend to use them in the UK.
Personally I'd have thought the hardware would originally have been there, so maybe if you can rebrand to the international version it may begin to work..

The sim card tray on the 2025 is actually a dual tray, one sim on the front and one on the back. It just looks like a single one but is double sided.

Oh so the same as everyone's else's, Ive not seen a 2025.
Then I suppose if it's got two IMEI's an be two slots, it's a case of testing it..
If it doesnt work then that's a dodgy carrier being an idiot by monopolising the OPs usage, I would avoid that network of that's the case
