root Knox help comments

Hey everyone.
Thanks for keeping such a great information forum. I had a evo a few years ago and everyone was a lot of help with rooting.
So I just get this s4. And I really don't want to pay for hot spotting. Would love to gain access to this. Anyone know how without rooting?
I've been looking into it for ago couple days now. Then I read about the Knox count. Really Don't want to lose my warranty really if I want I can go get another phone with sprints lease system if need but still.
Anyway. Are there any ways of getting that hot spot or teathr ability.
Are there any roots for the 4.3. I tried doing a autoloader and it failed.
No PIT partition it said. I still can't find out how to fix that or if I really should. Like I said. I'm glad now it didn't go tthru and ruin the Knox.
Any help links tips anything. Good things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
Even if it takes me going anything nd getting a new phone again. Maybe the note 3? Can you root them for wife easier?
Thanks in advance
With this version of Pda Net (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxfi2) you should be able to do USB tethering and BT tethering without root. It will not do Wifi tethering, AFAIK, because of something in the stock rom.
As mentioned you can try PDA.net I've owned that for years but haven't had to use it on any of my recent Android devices yet. I root and use hotspod mods.
Read here to root without problems.
Then got to crawrj's thread and grab the hotspot mod. (If you are on stock choose the Odex version).
Since you're coming back to the forums I'm sure it would help you greatly if you spend some time and read through the how-to's and stickies.
Good luck.
Thanks guys. I have been trying to read thru every chance I get. Look forward to getting back in the loop.

[Q] Have some questions on rooting

Hello, I came from the verizon GS3 and was pretty much a crack flasher and had it rooted and everything. I also ended up soft bricking my phone a couple of times. I kinda want to avoid that so I'm a bit in doubt on rooting. I've seen that the rooting seems fairly easy but I hear people not being install the recovery and the flashing seems kinda risky as well. I just want to install some of the xposed mods and have it rooted, can anyone give me some guides on the easiest ways of rooting and installing a custom recovery? Also is there any chance of a toolkit or an easy do it all software coming out any time soon?

[Q] Need Help!! Update to kitkat without re-locking my rooted s4?

Hello guys, I need a quick help. My friend sent me a Gs4 all the way from Canada. As it was locked, I made it unlocked in a store by paying 2000 bucks(it wasn't cheap). It runs on a 4.3 version(mentioned in about phone). I want to update it to kitkat without re-locking the phone. I don't know what he did or how he unlocked the phone. When I got the phone from him, it was rooted. That's all I know about the unlocking. I've got a little experience in backing up and flashing(experimented on my old Atrix2). But never unlocked a phone before.
So what I want to know now is wether there a way to update my SGH I377M to kitkat without messing it up by locking SIM again!!!
if there is a way, please help me out in doing it.
if there is not, can I unlock it myself after flashing it with kitkat and HOW ???
Hey, I'm not as new to this, but have some experience from mistakes. I'm pretty sure if you leave the root untouched, so will the unlock. That being said, there are guides to keep root while flashing a new custom, stock-like kitkat rom. Also, there are guides to re-unlock. Youtube is usually your best bet. I would definitely wait for the other, more experienced members to help you out. I wish you the best of luck.

Does anyone know why our S7s become slow after rooting?

I've flashed and rooted countless devices before and don't normally run into issues with the speed of the device. Usually I root to help with that! Since I've gotten my S7 though, I've noticed that we all get performance issues after rooting. What would be the cause of this? Is it Knox? Maybe something Samsung implemented to encourage us not to root? Does anyone have insight on what causes this lag? I might have missed a post explaining this so feel free to link it in the comments.
My edge has slowed to the point i'm using an iPhone 7 plus now lol. Waiting for the s8 plus to come out
The engineering kernel that is used to gain root is a factory Samsung kernel used for development and repair, and it was not intended for all out speed. The only way to gain root without this particular kernel is to have an unlocked bootloader, which is not available for the US S7. You can look into the Hybrid ROM, as it retains the factory kernel, but you won't have root access after flashing it.
Could you point me to root procedures guide? Thanks

Rooting s7 edge sm-935t 8.0

Hi I'm looking to root my TMobile s7 edge that's on Oreo. I see a lot of conflicting information and was wondering what everyone thinks the best method is and if there is a guide. I used to be into rooting devices many years ago but I've been away from it so long. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
I am also looking to root my son's s7 edge. It's been years since I left Samsung for Nexus and pixel but I am assuming that you can still use Odin and install twrp then install magisk or whatever your perfered root method is. I am going to research this a little bit before I do anything.
There are methods but you would be stuck with laggy mobile as proper root is not possible... And for custom recovery its a big no, the reason is locked bootloader.
So no custom recovery means no custom Roms.. The root will be limited to run root supported apps. And lil bit of debloating.
But the lagging is not worth it.

Obviously we are serious. If you read my post I said I was going to research it further. This post was part of that research. Xda has a treasure trove of information and alot if it sometimes it takes a while to get what your looking for. Back in the day people on xda were happy to help. That's how I learned how to root phones and use adb commands.
