General question :D about A7

Here's my question. Galaxy A7 to comparison with Galaxy Alpha are quite identical when it comes to Chipset/Cpu and Gpu etc. They are very similar so I was wondering if any porting of custom ROMs from Galaxy Alpha could be made. I have no knowledge when it comes to porting so I'm asking here so there could be a discussion. Generally I like A7 it's a well rounded phone, great specs and camera but the touchwiz oh man the touchwiz i hate it so much...
I downloaded nova launcher so i can get close to stock android experience as a temporary fix but it's far from the usability of lets say CM 12.1 which in my opinion was/is the best OS for android machines. What do you think? Also do you see the A7 community growing to the extent of Galaxy S Series or Note series?
P.S Thanks to the developers who are working on ROMs for the A series <3 :laugh:

Best rom for gaming ?

I have a galaxy note 4 but I want to use it only for the gaming now. What is the best rom to install to have the best performances ? I guess the more simple rom ? Idk

Also, I want to know : what is the more powerfull for games, the "galaxy note 4" or the "Leeco Le Pro3 Elite" ? Because I want to buy it if its more powerfull. Thanks you and sorry if my english isnt that good.

The LeEco LePro3 Elite will wipe the floor of Note 4 when it comes to gaming as it is equipped with a beasty SD 820 Chip(IMHO overwhelming performance for gaming) & dont forget for a fact that it is a phone(note 4) from 2014 & Still has so many things that even the newest flagship phone from Top manufacturing companies lacks. I found the "Pac rom", "Super Fast & Famous ROM" and "emotion os 7.1". They looks pretty good. What is the best for the gaming ?

Actually i got this phone only a week back when this phone started to have SOD(SleepOfDeath) problem in which it occurs for 70% of the Note 4's from 2 years of use from my brother in exchange for my Moto X Style. So i have no idea which rom gives you thee best performance for gaming. But i can give you some infos, Most of the debloated stock roms gives so much performance. If you dont have one & have a complete stock, then removing or disabling(Only if you are rooted & disable it through Ti Backup) the smart manager itself will give you you much better performance, since that thing will scan things on the fly, which is not at all good. Samsung must have included a way to disable that crap but to no avail it happened. Cheers!!

Thanks for your awnser. Yeah the stocks roms are so big (like 2Gb the rom !) And the customs are like only 300mb. I think the "Pac Rom" is the best for gaming when you see the name..

Hi lovely community! (really appreciating every single time you have helped me out!!)
Here we go again :
My brother broke his S8+ no money for a new device so i gotta donate my liver (My old Note 4)
It was rocking an Norma Rom (loved it still miss it) But since his kid is always bugging with his phone he demands a fingerprint lock..
So i formated the phone and after 3 days of struggle (BL,CP,Kernels etc..) i managed to get the stock 6.0.1 Rom from Omega (thank you bro Greeks are awesome!!!)
Overall its running gread (actual 10 minutes of testing) But the menu is so old.. and ugly AF..
I need some kind of a flash i can do with TWRP that will get the menus a bit more up to date, and add an actual working AOD (always on display) without breaking the fingerprint lock.
Basically i just need the looks of Android 7 not impacting functionalities, a sort of Theme i`m guessing..
So proud Note 4 owners is that possible?

I don't know what phone you (or your brother has) have 910C/F - exynos or snapdragon.
To have AOD on stock is not possible, it needs porting over framework and libs and stuff from S8, S8+, N7 or similar.
Most of the ported ROM's have the fingerprint broken, s and there's a workaround only with a custom ROM, so again not possible for what you want.
Basically you want a nougat "look" on a stock ROM. Not sure you gonna find this.
You may try this ROM - https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/rom-t3768967 which has a SystemUI Full Like S7, but it's only for the 910C (Exynos model).

Like for a laptop, it depends on your usage : gaming or not ? large screen or not ? budget ? I think in 2020, Note 8T or some note 9 could be more appropriate but once again, first see about your usage and needs

1. Gaming : NIL ,no games at allllll
2. Screen size : anything not matters for me
3. Budget : 5K to 14k
RN8T is not available in India and Note 9 has a mediatek SoC

If you can use the Pro Mode of the Note 7 camera you will take Amazing pics, you will have a large modding community support for years, Android R will not arrive officially and the Note 7 After the MIUI 12 will be EOL (It will receive some updates but slower than other phones), the Note 7 is a good phone, but it's just old, think about it:good:

No, i use the stock MIUI 11 based on Android 10, i've tried Weeb Project (Based on Android R) and it's pretty good, i had problems only with Mobile Data but i think it'll be fixed soon, i haven't used custom ROMs a lot, i like the MIUI (The Android 10 Update is very good, the stock camera with Pro settings for me is better than any Gcam).

I've tried some custom roms : pixel experience (normal and plus) : very good rom, totally stable, good battery. I had problems months ago with rom without included gapps. I'm now back on MIUI but Revolution OS in order to have a debloated one with still the MIUI features.
Dirty Unicorns should be pretty good too i guess, but nothing better than trying by yourself !

I don't see why it wouldn't. Xiaomi's snapdragon models seem to always have development since it's easy to unlock the bootloader. For development to thrive though, we have to wait till the kernel sources are released, which is about 2 months after release on average.

I hope so. Good thing is that it looks like the Redmi Note 9 4G and the Redmi Note 9 Power share the same specs, except they add a new Ultrawide camera.

I had unlock the bootloader and installed EU rom with magisk... I will install AOSP in futur but now it's too early.

Just got the phone, definitely feels slower than it needs to be based on the specs. I am really hoping we see a custom recovery and ROMs soon to see this phone fly. I was checking and the X3 NFC got those 2 relatively quickly post release.

No miracles, no custom rom is going to make the phone fly.
For its price it is a very good phone.

I disagree with your assertion. Even Redmi note 5 pro from three years ago, performs very well without lag on AOSP ROMs. And we all know that SD 662 on the POCO M3 is faster and better than SD 636 on RN5 Pro. So i believe that POCO M3 will perform greatly on AOSP based ROMs.

The miui roms of that time were loaded with bloadware and not very optimized, so any "clean" rom made an appreciable difference in performance.
Today it is not like that, the current miui roms are quite clean and highly optimized (and can be easily cleaned of the bloadware they carry).
There is not much difference apart from the security issues with the other cleaner android roms.

Yeah, sure...
I have a Redmi Note 7, with the SD660, that phone runs much much much faster, even with slower memory. The Poco M3 can go faster.

Can you link me to some guide as to how to remove that Junk and stop/uninstall apps? This reviewer seems to think you cannot and maybe you could help him too!
