Update my systemlessly rooted Shield TV Pro 2015 - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My Shield TV Pro 2015 is systemlessly rooted with TWRP and it keep asking for the Nougat update. Can I simply accept it or I need to revert back to the stock boot and recovery img ? If I must do it, where can I download them to flash them back ?
Thank

You can just accept it, but you'll have to flash TWRP, and supersu again afterwards.

Hi, yes you can Accept the download and install, the OTA should replace your boot.img and recovery.img, meaning that you will have to boot manually into TWRP to root again.
You can download official 5.0.2 recovery firmware from here:
It is always a good practice to have it at hand in case you run into issues.

Thank to both of you, the update worked flawlessly. Do you know if Magisk works with the Shield TV ? I had SuperSu from Chainfire but I find the all in one solution of Magisk way better

I also captured the OTA from the /sdcard, which I'm currently uploading and will share.

Here is the OTA if anyone's interested: update.zip.
preloader
Has anyone tried accepting the update yet? Can you confirm if it locks the preloader like the v6.6 prime update?

Yes it does
Stuck in logo boot loop on my non-prime phone... I had even made a ROM_FULL SPFT backup but it appears the OTA disabled the ability to use SPFT. I get an error S_BROM_DOWNLOAD_DA_FAIL. Did full wipe, nothing works.
Relock the bootloader.

lock failed - Err:0xffffffff
However running unlock again succeeded and I could flash boot.img. Now installation of magisk and phh superuser under twrp appears to work but the device is not rooted. Not sure if something changed or broke root.

Does anyone succeed rooting Huawei Nova running Android 7.0?

Hi.
My phone is running Android 7.9(EMUI5), and I tried to root it.
I followed this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-plus/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-huawei-nova-t3523473
But I failed to root. I could replace the original recovery with TWRP and install superuse.zip, so I installed superuser.apk, but my ohone is still not rooted.
I also tried installing beta version of superuser.zip, but this didn't work too.

Though I execute "ls" in the ADB shell, I can't find su in /system/bin.
If someone could root Android 7.0, please tell me how to root?
I'm sorry if I made some English mistakes. Thank you in advance.
I upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat Android 7 successfully. Not with supersu, BUT..
I upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat Android 7 successfully. I didn't root with supersu, BUT with Magisk instead as I figured that because it's a system-less process, it should be safer than superuser/ supersu. I don't have all the functionality of Magisk yet, but I have root with 100% root management. You should give it a try. I followed the instructions from this post from virusdunil:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-plus/how-to/nova-plus-root-magisk-t3673987
Good luck.

Stuck on bootanimation after OB3 update | Data Loss

Hello,
I recently updated to OB3 update on Oneplus 5.
Phone stuck on bootanimation for 30 minutes. I restarted it, same result !
Went into stock recovery only to see all data gone , some random folders are showing (check attachments).
Immediately flashed TWRP.
I have not tried anything as of yet so as to preserve data.
I have access to ADB , recovery(blu_spark's TWRP) and fastboot.
Please tell me how to proceed and save the data.

Le Pro 3 x720 no wifi driver after installing Magisk

Hello, I could not install Magisk by TWRP, it was an error because I use custom ROM EUI T.A.R.S. 5.9.020s by Steve Mars Final. So I did the flash stock boot.img procedure to install Magisk, it worked. But now it does not enable the wifi anymore and I do not know how to install the driver. I tried to install the drivers by Tool All in One 1.0.7.7 and it did not work. Would you like to take the ROM driver and install it? If so, what would this file be? Or by returning the boot.img of the ROM T.A.R.S. the driver would work again and Magisk, too?
Any help would be appreciated.

Just restore to full EUI via adb flashing or Flash a EUI recovery.
If you want to use an alternate version of EUI there are plenty of newer ve. Notic how under device its red.rsions that more up to date than EUI T.A.R.S. 5.9.020s.
You likely have to restore to stock first. Here is my stock recovery for my X727. It is clean, rooted, and has the bootloader already unlocked. : https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...ckup-clean-t3727920/post75021582#post75021582
Also, according to your image you are not in fastboot mode. Notice how under where it says "device", its red.

Help, going back to Stock.

I downloaded stock firmware SM-T820_XAC_T820XXU3CTD5
that is the latest Android 9 (Pie)
When extracted it's 4 files, so i'm a bit confused which one goes where.

Does this look about right?

but first I had to use the Factory Stock Recovery to wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache.
If not it kept on tripping the boot and encryption issue, and it forces to install a stock firmware again.
The key thing really was the Tabs3_oreo_forced+encryption_disabler.zip
Once you have that flashed the rest of the steps are standard.
