I have two apps which crashes when I am not running stock kernel. I tried installing a custom rom and they crashed. So I started from scratch with stock Nougat and applied mods one at a time until I could reproduce the crash.
When I flashed a custom kernel the apps started to crash again, and did not open. Obviously they check the kernel when they launch.
I have tried Superstock, Superkernel, Apollo and TGPKernel. My two apps won't launch with any of them.
Are there any way around this?
Is there any way I can reflash stock kernel now, as a last remedy?
I would like to use Magisk, but as I have found out, it doesn't seem to work on stock kernel, that is way I would like a custom kernel.

Mysterious AOKP 4.2.2 rom, Feb 22 build, faux 123 kernel, .33 radio, twrp. Took a pic, decided to take another one, hit the shutter, the phone froze, and then rebooted. downloaded some apps from the play store, rebooted on its own.
I haven't had any problems with stock 4.2.1 before, but then I wasn't really using the phone before and tinkering with it. Don't know if it was related to a wrong version of gapps or a dirty rom install or worst case scenario-hardware problems?
I followed the guide here. under TWRP there was an option to Format everything which i haven't tried.

gapps 4.2.2

I also noticed it came with some apps called Android tweaker free and Battery Guru. Could that be cause of it? Compatiblity issues? Should I go back to stock 4.2.1 or try a different rom?
Hi Folks!
My i9505 freeze and reboot when I'm using custom roms, I've installed Mahdi, CM11, MIUI and GE 4.4.4. Tried with Alucart and Googy Kernels and nothing is working. I can use the custom roms, I can install, boot and use for a couple os hours or minutes, but sometime it will freeze and reboot. Mostly when I try to use camera app or snapchat. (Maybe something with camera?!) In stock rom, same thing, but it just reboot when I use snapchat or when it is too warm.
Can u help me with a light of wisdow?
Thanks in advance
I'm on Exodus ROM, 1707 build.
Lightning SBTC kernel.
Pico CyanogenMod gapps.
My issue is that apps download normally but some (most of them) take way too longer than normal to install.
I tried Installing apps from apks and the same issue arises.
I reflashed the to, went back to kk and upgraded. Then flashed this ROM again. But no luck
Also After flashing CMOS 12 apps, I had 2 theme store. I had to remove one (the one without cyanogen logo).
But the issue is that after I apply a theme, the messenger, whatsapp and some other apps' fonts reset to default after sometime.
Please help to solve these issues!
About your issue of slow install, that has been quite the normal case with Lollipop in general, if you feel that apps are being installed at a slower rate then try some other ROM if same continues with other ROM then you'd have found that it's not the ROM's fault else its got something to do with the ROM, post a query to the OP of that ROM's thread.
There maybe some conflict in the theme manager due to you flashing COS12 apps. I'd recommend that you flash the ROM again and see if this issue persists without you flashing COS12 apps.

Happens for almost all ROMS
Hi,
I use BasicPlus 2 rom by t-shock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-basicplus-1-t3402601).
When I reboot my device, specific apps are complety missing and I have to restore them with TB to go on.
This is reproducible with these certain apps, for example Swiftkey, Es Explorer and Google Calendar.
I had this issue before and I fixed it by deleting the 'Android' folder on my external microsd (128GB Samsung Evo Plus), since the missing apps always create an empty folder there. Now this seems not to be working anymore, therefore I'm asking for a permanent solution in this thread.
Unfortunatelly I'm not able to post in the rom's thread since my account is locked for the development section, but I hope I will get some help here.
Thanks!
Did you dirty flash?
If you did, I highly recommend clean wiping after every update to a custom ROM.

Yes I dirty flashed from 1.1.1 to 2.0, since this was supported by the developer and he provided a fix to have a stable rom.
I also tried a clean install, but for any reason battery life wasn't that good compared to the dirty flash from 1.1.1.
It seems that no one else has such an issue, that would mean no one else did a dirty flash from 1.1.1, otherwise there would be more reports!?
In the meanwhile I made a clean install in each case of 2.0 and 2.1, but the issue still exists. I also wiped all caches after rom install, but there is no change. All apps survive several restarts but all of a sudden some apps disappeared after restart. I will try now with 3.1 and Prometheus kernel, too bad I cannot post to the main thread of the rom, since the developer doesn't see this thread I think
Has anyone tried to flash the Xposed Module that came out earlier today/yesterday? If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch this video real quick: https://youtu.be/eADZK17N7rk
I understand it is unofficial and might be unstable with lots of bugs, & that some modules currently don't work, but would I be at (more) risk of bricking my phone if I flashed it?
I flashed it yesterday and everything went well. The bugs are the following that I've experienced:
1. In order to download a module, you must press save instead of download. After that, a toast notification will prompt you on where to go in your file manager to find the apk.
2. Some force closes such as kernel auditor and Google/services. Those were resolved later on for me.
3. I noticed the fingerprint scanner got a little sluggish after, but a reboot fixed that.
4. Sorta made the UI a little sluggish as well so be careful if you've already under clocked your processor.
There we go. I am currently on the latest version of Lineage OS. I uninstalled it today, but I plan on installing it again with a new ROM tonight.
It doesn't seem to work on AOSP or Extended AOSP, but apparently seems to work on other ROMs. Want to switch ROMs unless EAOSP fixes that because I really want Amplify again
