Confuse over HTC Magic OTA

Hi guys, I am a recent convert from iPhone 3G. Whenever Apple releases new OS update for the iPhone, it will be available for the users, how about Google's Android OS? Will the update be made available to all the Android phones?
I have a 'HTC' branded HTC magic and I notice that my phone does not have the OTA feature. How do I update my OS?
Please advise. Thanks.

You can update it manually. I think you get problems if your phone is rooted though. I personally think that the custom ROMs released here are a few steps ahead anyways

Where would I be able to download it?
from the Android page? HTC or?

I would also like to know where i get the OTA updates offline

can someone upload latest update center for d802? on-screen and many other apps want to update through update center, because update it's available, but in update center there is none. i had similiar problem with smart world, but then i downloaded the new app and now it works fine, so i guess it's the same with update center? i'm on kitkat.

Moto G 4.4.4 Update starts rolling out on UK

It wasn’t that long ago when published about Motorola’s update plan for Android 4.4.4 KitKat. They were already in the process of working on 4.4.3 and then got the notice about the security patch in 4.4.4. Motorola halted the work they were doing until Google was able to send out the Android 4.4.4 update to them. Once they received the 4.4.4 update they began working on it, and now it’s finished. Motorola is in the process of sending out the update to carriers around the world so prepare to see your update soon.
The update even includes some features that are not present in the Android 4.4.4 change log. All Motorola received from Google was a few small fixes and then a security patch for OpenSSL. Motorola added some additional features that we have seen added to other Motorola devices. They ended up updating the phone dialer, they added the ability to pause and resume video recordings and they enabled the ability to download Motorola Alert. The most recent information about this update was it being sent to Vodafone customers in the UK.

Will i get update in my s8 g950w(unlocked) from Canada server or india based location

I meant to say above that - I'll be getting the update from Canada's update schedule or from my current location (India server)? Of one ui pie update.

You'll get the update from Samsung's server, but you won't get it until the update is officially released for G950W.
