Hi, I just bought a new Redmi 2 Prime HM2014811 (China Unicom dual sim version). I fastboot flashed my Redmi 2 Prime to the latest China Dev ROM (without inserting SIM cards and MicroSD card), and after flashing I inserted my MicroSD card to find out that it wasn't detected by my Redmi. I flashed custom recovery (TWRP) and still the same my MicroSD wasn't detected at all. Is this a bug or my phone has faulty hardware? Does anyone know whats wrong with my phone? Has anyone been through this or has an experience similar to this one? Please do reply. Thank you.
*PS: My MicroSD is Transcend Premium 400x 16 GB. MicroSD Format is fat32 and formatted using SD-Formatter.
Agree. After restore backup from the Lineage and/or Mokee, both don't recognize my SD card, even after formatting or transforming to internal memory. At miui everything was ok. The solution I found was to install Mokee 6.0 MM. Its fine now.

So I put 4.4.4 NI2 on my phone today. Noticed that the phone was not recognizing the card. Put the card in another Verizon Galaxy S5 runnning 4.4.2 NCG and it recognized the card. Put the card in a microSD card reader in my PC and it recognized it. I backed up everything formatted it on both the NCG phone and Windows, but still can't get the card to recognize on my phone running 4.4.4 NI2. I should mention here the card worked fine before the update. I was able to get another 16GB card to work in the 4.4.4 phone. It is just strange. Has anyone else experienced this weirdness? Oh, the card that is giving me problems is a Sandisk Ultra 64GB SDxc. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Same problem with same versions and 64GB Card.

Same problem with 2 Sandisk Ultra 64 GB micro SD cards. Start immediately after accepting the 4.4.4 update. I receive an error that says the card is damaged try reformatting. I have a Sandisk 32 GB that seems to be fine. I hope a fix will come soon.
This problem came up before.

Per that thread, it started with the NHA update and fixes itself when they updated to NI2.

Yes, my problem started at NHA, but I still have the issue on NI2.
I had 2 different sd card that would not / could not be recognized or formatted on a fresh factory reset NI2. I reverted back to NE9 and had no problems with either card. For what its worth.
So my SD card (Samsung Pro plus 32GB) just got corrupted, I dont know how, but maybe from me flashing a new firmware or something.
whats broken here? I plugged the sd card to my PC and reformatted it and its still corrupted on my phone,
So is the SD card broken?, Phone hardware or software?
is there a fix?
thanks
EDIT:
SD card is 100% fine on my PC and TWRP recovery can detect it and I even managed to get a Nandroid backup saved to it through TWRP, whats going on?, but on Android it always shows up as SD card is corrupted.
NEVERMIND! I Reflashed the same XSA firmware and now SDCard works, its software side problem.!
I bought this phone with MIUI 6 last version after that it upgraded to MIUI7. At first I used 2 SIM cards for some time. Then only one.
Yesterday after I sold the phone having latest MIUI 8 a strange problem came up as the buyer put in both of his SIM cards.
When both of the sim cards are inserted, the phone shows no SIM. If only one SIM card is inserted then the connection works fine. I tried inserting the SIM into the second slot which seems to have the problem and 'no sim' was displayed.
My question is as I never had a repair on my phone, could this be software problem? I've installed fastboot rom 2 times already with the same result. I've done factory reset for just the heck of it even after wiping and installing the fresh MIUI 8.
I used *#*#4636#*#* to try and switch off the radios on both cards, but for some reason 'turn off radio' button is click able but doesn't do anything. It just keep saying 'turn off radio'. Also on the preferred network mode the automatically selected values show 'WCDMA only' for sim one and 'Unknown' for sim two, no matter how many SIM cards I changed. I changed both settings to 'LTE, GSM/WCDMA' many times to no avail. Either the SIM 2 slot seems to be the culprit or the software. Could something like a SIM slot die after it is unused for a long time? And if it's dead why is it choking off SIM1 as well when both are inserted together?
I flashed MIUI 8 on my Redmi 2 Prime and i faced the same problem. If you remove the SD card, both the sims work perfectly. It is the similar to the tech. in Redmi Note 3 or the 3s Prime. They have a hybrid SIM card slot and the phone, when flashed with MIUI 8 assumes that you have a hybrid SIM card slot too, whereas you don't. So, I'm sorry to say this but you'll have to flash MIUI 7 for both the sims to work along with the SD card.
Fastboot rom guys, flash fastboot rom!

Flash miui v7 in fastboot.I had also face this trouble. When I flash miui v7 fastboot everything work properly.
Yup I'm facing this issue on miui 8 it's a software bug... When I enable data connection it shows the indication of data working properly but after some second's the sim turns off like no sim is inserted but net is working properly... Better to switch to miui 7 for a couple of days until the next update.
Hello, Pankaj.Pal9 bhai.
It's a Software problem. Not the Hardware issue. I faced the same problem on my Redmi 2 Prime smartphone after installing the MIUI 8 Global. Faced the same problem in the phone with MIUI 8 but not with the CM13 or Dirty Unicorn Custom ROM. If you are Okay with Custom ROMs, then install CM13 or Dirty Unicorn. Otherwise, just install MIUI7 Fastboot version.
If you ask me, I will say CyanogenMod 13 is the best ROM for Redmi 2 Prime and other Xiaomi Devices. You can get more features in CyanogenMod 13 than MIUI7 or 8. If you are looking for Perfectly Optimized Custom ROM for the device, then the Dirty Unicorn ROM is best.

Known bug. What model do you have? You can try restore an EFS partition for the same model. I've given up trying and accepted the sim card will never work again.

I do factory reset of this ROM but no effect
Buy and SDcard adapter to plug it into zour PC, then extract the ROMS you need on your PC and do a restore! :good:
one quick suggestion: downgrade back to latest version of kitkat, it is much better when it comes on battery!
I happened to dry my battery on 3 hours, but by downgrading I got another 1 or 2 more hours! really useful if you use whatsapp a lot, but if you just happen to use your phone for games, you should stay in the newest version so you can install them
