Tethering Problem - Moto G4 Play Questions & Answers

Hi! I have a problem with my new Moto G4 Play XT1602. Stock rom 6.0.1, no root.
I do not have a wifi, only SIM data connection.
APN is properly set, with "dun", and I tried many different SIM without changes.
When I activated the hotspot, other devices see the hotpost but fail to connect the network.
At this point, if I click the double arrow icon (drop-down menu) twice I deactivated and reactivated the data network and tethering starts (devices are properly connected) but It does not work anymore the network data in the cell.
It appears an exclamation mark near the Cellular data icon (the triangle with 4G/H+)
Summing, the devices connected to the hotspot use the data network but the phone itself is "offline", in not possible to use anything related to the network
When I deactivate the hotspot, I have to tap again twice the double arrow icon (drop-down menu) to bring the phone "online".
Is there any solution to simultaneously use the hotspot and the connection on the phone itself?
Thanks for any help!

Wifi and Internet Access on Verizon Stock ROM

Using the Off the shelf Verizon ROM with nothing else installed. the phone does NOT have a data plan.
When I turn on WiFi I am able to see all the networks but am unable to connect to any of them (secure or unsecure). The phone goes into "Connecting" mode and never connects to it. I've tried an open wifi (the one at starbucks), a WEP enabled wireless network (and yes I did put in the Netkey/password), and now a WPA network. All with the same result.
Everytime I try to do anything data related it tries to dial the #777 and do PPP over the cell line.
Is there anywhere/anyway to drop the Verizon Data Network. I deleted it and it comes right back each time.

Well there is no way to delete but there is a way to stop accidently dialing #777 by going to start>settings>connections tab>connections>Then under the carries's name (mine says sprint) there should be 3 clickable links click the one called Manage Existing connections>Press new>The setup will tell u how to do it for connection name i just used my name u can use anything you want press next after that>When it asked for the number dialed put #777 press next>It will take u to a login page Make a username BUT DON'T MAKE A PASS DO NOT MAKE A PASSWORD then press finish and choose the one you just made as ur primary one (put a dot in the little circle next to the name of the connection u just made) then press ok now test it out by hitting the internet button without the wifi on or anything if you did it right it should take you to a login page that you can just close to stop yourself dialeng #777
This is probably not the case, but if you can't even connect to unsecure networks, the signal strength is probably too weak. (Probably not the case if you are sitting right into the Starbucks)
I blocked data access on my phone and never went though the wizard on the phone. My phone doesn't even attempt to dial or do anything if i am not connected via ActiveSync or WiFi. Maybe you have a defective phone? Good luck.
Stock VZW ROM will have the default wifi power settings wrong to actually be able to connect to anything. Fix this by going to Settings-Connections-Wireless LAN-Power Mode and moving the slider all the way to Best Performance. This should enable you to connect to access points.

I always wondered what that power slider actually changes. I usually leave mine on best battery and still connect to my home network. What does best performance change?

How can I know what program is trying to access the internet?

Problem: The data arrows are always active on the top of my phone. When I go to the comm. manager and disable wlan, something keeps enabling it and then it immediately turns off again -- this happens over and over. I even have nue's hardware switch enabled and the wifi switch off.
How can I tell what is trying to access the connection?

GPRS issue

As I don't have an unlimited data plan, I've installed "netdroid" which is supposed to toggle data and/or wifi on and off. (I use it only for data).
Problem is that at 1st use, it works fine (gprs connection and disconnection), but then I can't connect anymore, and only a soft reset can take care of that.
I don't think it's a problem with the application because I've tried it with "quick settings" and it does the same.
Thank you for any hint.
GPRS issue (rom modaco r13)
I have similar problem. GPRS works ok when i start my phone. I use apndroid to switch between gprs/wifi settings. After wifi use, my gprs settings doesn't work any more. Icon appears in taskbar, but it can't receive data. When i restart my phone, gprs works fine until i use wifi again. Is there some way to restart network on phone without restarting whole phone, and what is happening with network during restart?
Thanks
Mladen.

[Q] Wifi to 3G hand-off problem and vice versa

I'm running Cyanogen 7.2 stable on my Droid 2
It seems I cannot successfully transition from wifi to 3g, or from 3G to wifi without hard resetting my phone. If I turn wifi on, then hard reset the phone, it will connect to my chosen access point, I'll get an IP address, and be able to use internet. But when I go into wifi settings and disable the WiFi, it will claim to connect the 3G but I will not be able to connect to any internet site. The notification area will show 3G icon in white, but never turn cyan to indicate a successful data connection. Trying to turn on airline mode does nothing, and the phone will not go into airline mode until I also, turn it off and turn it back off. Then it will reboot into airline mode. A simple soft reset doesn't seem to solve this problem, I have to preform a power off, and then turn it back on.
Conversely if I set it to use 3G and hard reset it will successfully connect to 3g and work fine, but turning on wifi will result in a connection to the access point but no actual data tansfer. Just as before it will show the connection option's icon on the notification bar will show the WiFi icon but it will say white, and never successfully connect. Alternately wifi will connect and the drop the connection repeatedly.
I've looked all over here, and Google for any working solution but I haven't seen any. Mostly just people having trouble connecting to a specific router, which I DO NOT have. Specially the hand-off to 3G and back seems broken and I have to do a hard reset 100% of the time to change from wifi to 3G and back.
Could somebody point me in the right direction for a solution that hopefully won't involve wiping my phone?

[Q] After Lollipop update my G2 doesn't automatically connect to my wif router

When I check "Settings-->Network" the Wifi section says "Connection Available". However, it won't automatically change to wifi from my 3G service. For example, if I leave home my phone switches to 3G, but when I return home it stays on 3G. I had no problems with this on KitKat.
I've tried rebooting my phone, forgetting my connection, playing around with some of the "Advanced wifi settings", but nothing seems to help.
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think my phone DOES automatically switch to the free wifi hotspots provided by my cell company. Could there be a setting my router that may help?
