I wonder if anyone can help me...I have an MX4 Pro, with the latest firmware (Global version, Flyme 5.1.12.0G), and I've been having a few issues.
For some time I've had an issue where the network cuts our if I am using mobile data. Sometimes it's OK, but other times the signal suddenly shows zero bars. If I reboot then it works, at least for a bit. This is not due to a poor signal. It has happened sporadically for a while and not just on this latest firmware.
Now, when this happens the battery suddenly drains. I can literally see the battery reading go from 45%, or whatever it is, to zero in a few seconds. The phone then shuts off. Last time it did this I plugged the power it (otherwise it wouldn't re-boot) and when it did come on, just seconds later, the power was back at 45%. So, I don't think it's simply a bad battery issue.
I also have had a power drain with a GPS app, in that the battery was almost full (and it really was) thought the app drained the power in no time. At other times, it works as it should. Other than this, the batter has only suddenly drained when the network signal has been lost.
I have tried to remove the sim and plonk it back in after a reboot, and I have "updated" with the same firmware. The issue still persists though.
Any hints would be much appreciated!

I purchased my nexus 4 on release from the Google Playstore (UK) over 2 years ago now, recently updated it to stock 5.01 and have been bombarded with problems.
When using the phone, after about an hour of use it will suddenly ask me to re-input my sim card pin (I'm assuming this is a radio issue). After doing so, more often than not the phone will then just shut down - sometimes with a screeching noise?! At this point the battery still has around 50-60% left, when I then turn the phone on again, the battery suddenly drops and I usually see the figure to around 1-10%. This has required me to charge the phone 2-3 times a day in order for it to function, extremely annoying that the radio seems to fail and not pick up any network signal after the phone drops past 60% battery.
I've attached an image of my battery life to show what I mean about the drop - it's quite frustrating as I've looked after the phone extremely well so I can't understand why these problems are occurring.
Any help would be much appreciated!

To be honest, they all sound like gremlins from old data left in the partitions from the previous OS versions. I am on 5.0.1 and experienced none of those issues, in fact, it runs like butter. I would suggest a full wipe and see if that fixes the issue. Residual data can cause these sorts of random issues.
OP I have the issue with radio after a fresh factory image install. I have signal but cellular data will stop flowing. This is intermittent. Switching to airplane mode sometimes fixes the problem, but sometime I have to reboot. Considering going back to KitKat.
If you using android 5.0.0-5.0.1 - this can be android bags. i have this too it make me crazy!
I managed to get round to rebooting today (had exams lately so literally no time to sort the phone out). Did a factory reset and still the same issues, in fact it's gotten progressively worse since the last time I posted, battery cuts out at around 80% (switched off today at 87%). I get about 40 mins on screen time and bam, shuts down, I'm able to switch it back on in a minute or two, where I then see it down to about 15%. The fact that it's continuously asking me for my sim card pin is insanely frustrating, even more so when it shuts down RIGHT after i put it in.
I've been having this strange problem these last few weeks. It happens in different ways.
1. Bellow 25% phone randomly shuts off then when i reboot its 0% battery.
2. Bellow 25% at random % I lose phone signal then the phone starts to lag and capacitive keys don't work then the phone shuts off and when i power it on its at 0%.
3. Phone gets to 15% i plug it in to charge, it doesn't charge but discharges to 0% then shuts off and after that it charges.
If i remove the battery then put it back in after it says 0% it may show 30%/20/15/13/25/30 etc. Sometime it doesn't charge after 87% or 92%. Is it the battery or is something else at fault? Also i can't get more then 2h15m screen time whatever i do and wifi drain is 30% in gsam.
Earlier I had same problemes on my Note 1 and it was because of my battery. Probably your problemes are becuse of your battery too.
Ok I will try a new battery.
I have exactly the same problem!!!!
Like exactly.
However I'd like to add some things:
1. Sometimes the radio signal for mobile starts randomly cutting in and out. It will be full bars, LTE, then nothing, no signal symbol. Then Full bars again, then no signal. In 1 minute revolutions. I am not physically moving during this time.
2. Even at near full battery the phone will get super laggy, stutter, and then finally crash. Once it reboots the battery will be 40% or something. Not super low but lower.
3. The camera seems to have a huge effect as well. I will open the camera, take a picture, and the picture won't save...it will just start to freeze the phone up until I have to pull the battery or it reboots on its own.
I also have a new battery coming in the mail.
However I should note that I am Note 4 910-H using a 910-C variant Custom ROM.
I was worried it was the special Modem I flashed to make the C variant ROM work on my H variant phone that was causing the problem.
Great, but unfortunate to see someone else having this issue too.
Ill post results of the new battery here.
Btw, ive been able to resurrect it from a very low state of charge (3% etc). The only way to do this is to use my fast charger. The fast charger is the only thing that will save it. Even then it takes ages to charge and gets white hot while it does. Its like the fast charger is battling for charge against some unknown force.
Post if you remember when you get your new battery. Hope that fixes it for you.
hi
my note 4 910c become very hot when i use the internet , can i change the modem from lower android like 4.2 to android 6 ? is it work ?
I have exactly the same problem and please if any1 finds any solution just share it here... I tried almost everything but not a new battery.
Battery Calibration By All The Ways, Battery Quick Start via *#0228#, Many Custom ROMs, Many Custom Kernels and Many Stock ROMs and the problem still the same even after I cleanly installed stock 6.0.1 ... Any help please.
Thanks in advance.
New Battery fixed 99% of my problems.
However the phone still randomly freezes and disconnects from cell service.
I think its the modem driver. Freezing might also be due to sd card.
Does anyone have the same issue and knows what to do?
Since the update it
a) drains while not in use (depletes the battery jn 5 days without use approximately)
b) Rapidly goes from 90% to 60, suddenly drops to 30
c) Suddenly goes back uo to 60%
It seems as if the battery meter has gone absolutely crazy...
Should I contact Lenovo Support or is this a known bug that has a workaround or solution?
I can not confirm this.
But in my case I have done a hard reset. Maybe its also an option for you?
I don't have the erratic meter issue, but mine *does* drain the battery during sleep. The WiFi stays on, even though I have it set to "never".
I haven't noticed this problem. Various devices in my past have seen similar issues following an update before. A factory reset should resolve it, unless your battery has a physical problem.
First couple of days after the update I felt like my battery was draining faster, but that belief was corrected with use. Thankfully.
You can turn off WiFi scanning. This will shut down WiFi properly.
The one I have must be a freck I fully charge it and get 4 days of regular use........
Did you update to 170519? Maybe the problem is solved then.
[TL;DR]
Phone battery suddenly drains faster than usual, drains to 0% overnight. Problem still persist even after April update and after battery change. Can't find any solutions. Help me.
Hey, so about a week ago something very strange happened to my Mi A1 and got worse overtime. So what happened was my battery went from 80+% to 0% overnight. I woke up confused and just recharged it and didn't think too much. After a full charge, I noticed the battery drains abit more than usual and had to plug it in constantly. Before going to bed I charged my phone to 100% to see if it would drain to 0% again. It did. As time passes the problem gets worst. The phone started getting warm when charging (around 40+°C up to 50°C) then after a while the phone runs warm even when not charging (never goes below 40°C). My phone always used to run at about 30-35°C even when charging. I changed the battery myself because there was no warranty on it but it didn't fix the problem. However it did help abit. The battery drains ever so slightly slower now but still drains to 0% overnight. It still runs warm but now it does go below 40°C (rarely). Before and after the battery change, the discharging rate is about 700mA and sometimes reaches 1000+mA (used an app called Ampere, not too sure how accurate it is). The phone was also warmer than usual when charging even when the phone was off (before and after the battery change). I tried factory resetting to see if that does anything but had no luck. I also tried using a Wakelock detector app to see if there was an app excessively triggering a wakelock but all seemed normal. I even tried downloading a "battery calibration app" which obviously didn't work. So I feel like it's a hardware problem.
Now here's what I did and did not do to the phone before the problem happened. What I did was I do charge the phone quite alot most of the time. What I mean by that is when it hits about 30% I'll plug it in but I never leave it plugged in after a full charge or charge it overnight and I seldom let the battery drain to below 10%. Even so, the phone never got warm like how it is now. That's about all I did to it. Now what I didn't do was, I never tried to install custom ROMs or root/modify my phone in anyway except for the post about how to enable 4G+ which didn't work for me.. My phone is completely stock. I also didn't install any new apps from the playstore or from any 3rd party sites nor were there any updates for any apps installed in my phone. I've had the same apps installed for a couple of months before this happened. I also haven't dropped my phone for a couple of months. I only dropped it less than 5 times from short heights and I have a very rugged case on. I also didn't use any 3rd party chargers. I'm still using the charging brick and cable that came with the phone. I have tried using other chargers that are 2A but no luck. So basically I didn't do anything out of the ordinary prior to this problem.
Just some extra information
1. The hottest part of the phone is at the top right corner of the back. I assume the CPU is there (?).
2. It happened before the April update. It was the same before and after the April update.
3. Phone is running on Android Pie if that wasn't clear
4. The phone is only 10 months old
5. My phone is the Global ROM version
6. Performance wise, its still responsive and snappy. Doesn't lag or freeze or anything.
6. I always have mobile data on and use it as hotspot for my laptop at uni. I have been using it like that for the past 9 months. However the problem happened when I was at home during sem break so I was mostly connected to Wi-Fi.
Sorry for such a long post. I hope somewhere out there, there is someone who can help me or other people that have a similar problem so we can fix it.
Thanks.
In the upper right corner, should be the modem area.
Try holding the phone on airplane mode during the night and monitor drain.
Also, try changing the SIM slot and do an APN reset. If this fails too, try changing your SIM card or if u can, try another operator SIM.
If you changed any value with QXDM PRO , try and put back the default values.
Good luck
Hi everyone!
Recently, for reasons of having a fast and economical mobile, I bought a second-hand Moto X Play XT1563 Latin American version.
The first problem I noticed is that the battery tends to go to 0% even while charging. It can go to 70%, or 50% or whatever percentage. Or if I open the camera after a few seconds it goes to 0%.
What happens, when I start the phone in "Factory Mode" after it "dies", it works without problems. And it still maintains the battery percentage with which it went out. And if I try to turn it on normally, just before the Bootanimation is finished, the low battery sound sounds and then it shows the "Turning off" and turns off.
Also if I put it to load off, it shows the percentage with which it went off. I turn on the phone normally and it shows the percentage, but when disconnected after a few seconds it does the same thing of going to 0%.
I thought it was because the previous owner never updated Nougat, I have read that the ROM of 6.0.1 gives a lot of problems, so I updated it to see if it was the problem and it has not solved it. I tried putting the Kernel "Squid R23" to see if it was Kernel Stock problem and nothing.
It should be noted that I do not have the Motorola Turbo charger, I use one of 5V 1.5A. And it takes about 2 or 3 hours to charge. And it is downloaded two hours later, I don't know if it also has to do with it. Although it still seems strange to me that "Factory Mode" if I work without problems. It basically works like a Tablet, only WiFi.
I guess it may be the battery, but I have read similar cases and they say that replacing the battery does not solve the problem.
Personally, using my mild common sense, I think it is something of Firmware as a type of descaling. But I don't know how to accommodate it either, I've already deleted the "Battery-stat.xml" several times and it doesn't help the problem either.
I hope someone can have the solution to the problem. A cordial greeting!
(Sorry if my English can have errors, I speak Spanish and I don't know how to speak English well. I use Google Translate)
EDIT: When I am in "Factory Mode" and have an already low battery level, the touch screen starts to make ghost touches at the top and bottom. Especially when I do things with consumption, such as opening the camera or if the phone is just turned on. This only happens in the "Factory Mode" and when there is little battery.

I have installed the LineageOS 14.1 in my X Play and as you mentioned, in Factory Mode the battery continues to drain out completely, and in a normal startup, it randomly shuts down below 40% of charge.
Once I drained the battery in Factory Mode, then left the phone charging overnight. Next day it powered itself off at 20% and eventually 40% again, so no solution there.
I tried deleting the Battery-stat.bin and the Battery-stat.xml but nothing changes.
Then in Factory Mode there is no mobile network connection, and in Normal Mode something is sending a shutdown signal nevertheless the battery level, so I was wondering, can I manually turn on/off such services so my phone doesn't turn off in Normal Mode or turn on the mobile network connection in Factory Mode?
Can someone lead us in the right direction? I can't find the right services nor the way to enable/disable them.
PD Your english level is above average, I speak spanish too.
Got any solution guys?!
