[Q] Way to disable a sim slot? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

With stock MiFavor, one of the few benefits it had for me was the ability to toggle sim slots on/off. Now I'm on AOKP (Lineage based) and there is no way that I know to accomplish this. I can turn radios off (hidden network menu codes or airplane mode) but no way to completely disable the sim slot.
The reason for this, as you may know, we don't have wifi calling on this phone. T-Mobile Digits will serve the purpose if it doesn't see the number you want to use as active on a sim. I was able to disable the sim slot in the basement at work (IT guy, typical, I know) and run Digits to get calls/texts on wifi.
I'm okay with a root app to achieve this but I can't find one.

left the phone on the sim unlock screen for an hour and a half (but screen was black as it was asleep).. forgot to put code in.. 11 percent of battery was used up ... if you look at phone battery usage it shows cell standby (trying to get signal) as top user...
The phone shouldnt be trying to get the signal anyway till i put in my unlock code..
You need network for emergency calls
sounds normal to me
i second what freakyzoidberg said
even if you turn on the phone has SIM locked and you are using a SIM card from another company, you can still make 911 calls on most phones
except that it never gets network.. if that was the case it would have network signal.. if you look at the top bar it shows no network.. it either should acquire the network so you can make emergency call or stop trying to get it (using up battery) till you push the emergency button.. i dont think this functionality works anway.. i will test because without simm card how does it know which network to acquire?

i think the phone recieves all available networks before it asks for the SIM-pincode... after that it needs time for connecting to your SIM-provider network etc. .. If you have no SIM or a locked SIM then only emergency call is possible because it is the only number that is present in any network. The phone will then use the first available network to connect...

G900FD - SIM Soft Switcher

I'm running the G900FD Duos and need to continually switch between SIM1 and SIM2. I have to do this because the 2G signal in my area is non existent so when using SIM1 on 3G/4G the other SIM (which then uses 2G) won't receive any calls or texts.
I've tried in the unnecessarily confusing Samsung dual-sim settings to make this a one click operation but simply cannot fathom it out without endless clicking to and fro. I've also tried xShortcut to add a shortcut to the home screen to either switch between the two SIMs or swap 3G/4G connection from one SIM to another (and back) but again without success.
Does anyone know if this is even possible without a 15 click operation?

G935FD - Disable mobile data on second SIM

Hey Guys
Here is the deal..my G935FD is having connectivity issues (service unavailable) on the SIM card that provides backup mobile data but only when on 2G network. My assumption is that this carrier have move away from 2G and have limited connectivity capabilities in 2G. When switched to 4G, works just fine... however I want to use this carrier only for voice services and not data.
I already updated my modem to latest version with same results.
My goal is to disable data completely on this SIM, but the minimum setting on the Edge is 2G and on top of that is not possible to have both SIM running 3G/LTE. I also tried using a fake APN but no luck.
Do you know a way to accomplish this?

From what I could understand, you want mobile data on your primary SIM, and use the secondary SIM only for voice but the carrier is re-farming 2G and you can't have 3G on the 2nd SIM slot?
Well, there's no solution for it. One SIM Slot can do 2G/3G/LTE whereas the second one can only do 2G. No way around it.

Thanks for your help. So no way to only shut down data completely on the second SIM? Shutting down mobile data from settings shut it down for both SIMs, couldn't find a way to shut them now independently.

Under SIM card manager, when you see the Mobile Data tab, isn't it set to SIM 1? That would automatically disable Mobile Data on the 2nd SIM, however you can't get past the network mode restriction. So SIM 1 will be on 2G/3G/LTE, whereas SIM 2 will be on 2G only.
Very easy
Via the settings tab, get into mobile network tab, select access point names.
Choose the sim u want to deactivate and then select the APN and delete it with the menu option on top right hand corner.
using 3g doesn't mean it will use data.. when u chose the primary sim for data the other will never use data even on 3g.

How to enable wifi calling only on one sim and full access to 4g+cellular on another?

Hi!
I have a sim card from Russian MTS operator that has wifi calling, but charges roaming as soon as their sim registers on a cell network.
Occasionally I need to use that sim to receive one time passcodes while paying for utilities bills in Moscow.
Initially, I wanted to put Russian sim into Airplane mode + Wifi and have Mint Mobile sim have full access to 4g while in use, but I understand that's not possible.
So I'd have to deactivate Russian sim and when I want to use it, Id put phone into airplane mode+wifi, activate Russian sim and let it connect to MTS via WIFI , when I'm done I'll disable it and thats how it will work?
Just turn off roaming mode for Russian MTS simcard. You don't need to use airplane mode.
Airplane mode is cutting cellular signal so the signal is not interference the plane for safety which mean no cellular data as well.

xt1609- airplane mode - change baseband.

good afternoon.
I have this inconvenience.
I have two phones exactly the same xt1609.
The first phone was unlocked and converted to GSM and works 100%.
base band (M8916_20250106.08.05.23R HARPIA_NA_CUST)
the second phone was unlocked but I could not make it work.
base band (M8916_20250106.08.05.23R DFLT_FSG)
There is a difference in the second team. when having the equipment without sim card the base band is (M8916_20250106.08.05.23R DFLT_FSG) but when putting it sim card it is changed to (M8916_20250106.08.05.23.01B DFLT_FSG).
When trying to search for networks, it generates an error message in activated airplane mode.
someone could help me thanks.
