Hello I just got this amazing phone but I have a question. When I got the phone the icons where pretty... Once I updated to Nougat the icons are ugly... They have white borders and just don't look appealing ...how can I revert to use the icons like it was before prior to Nougat updated?
Thanks
Your best bet is to use a custom launcher like Nova launcher and install an Icon pack. I think Nova has a default pack installed so try that out
Agree, the standard zte icons and text and phone apps are not the best. I was surprised how poor they were when compared to for example htc. What would people recommend for phone and text apps?
Thanks I'll try Nova launcher
Well thanks all for the suggestion the Nova launcher has come long ways since I used Android.. Glad I did ..its gorgeous
So far so good with the launcher. I have discover that when I use Whatsapp it lags .. and when I use the Camera on Whatsapp it get stuck for like 10 seconds. Any ideas what could be causing this?
I have the same problem in WhatsApp. We aren't the only ones either. A lot of people have this issue. Hopefully ZTE fixes it asap.

For some people wiping cache worked.
Turn off your device, press volume up and power on the device, it'll boot into recovery, use the volume rockers to mive up and down the menu and select wipe cache with power button. Confirm on the next screen and reboot to system and give it shot again. That didn't fix my issue though. Worked only on the first try. After that still lags and pretty much unusable.
So is this an issue from ZTE and not the Nova Launcher?

I don't think Nova has anything to do with this. It's probably ZTE.

Will this be fixed eventually? .. I tried the clear cache procedure. It did moved a bit faster but still lagged.
Crossing fingers this can be solved in the near future...

Heey, I have the same issue!! Well, I'm not going nuts, that's a relief. Hoping ZTE address this sooner rather than later. But I do have Nova too. Raises the question: Is it a ZTE error really? Or is Nova the culprit? Do not miss our next episode!!
I was having lag on Nova and did FDR and it is fixed for now.

Just upgraded to Oodie MIUI 2.2.24 ROM.
Some of the issues i encountered, which are not mentioned in the main topic:
1. Torch button in toggles don't work.
2. Access Control in toggles causes FC
3. No 2x1 clock (Had in the earlier version)
4. Maps pop up again after reboot even if disabled earlier.
5. In the earlier version, sometimes the screen went off and clicking the power button didn't help. Had to opt for Volume Waker then. After the update, encountered it only once.
The ROM is super smooth, as said elegant and with lot of visual customizations which i like. So far the best I had.
These problems don't matter much but just thought of giving a feedback.
Can't post in the main topic, no thanks so far. WOuld be happy to get some

Hey Guys, Ive got an infuriating problem. I cant pulldown my notification bar, my notifications just sit there taunting me, or at least they did till I remembered the dedicated nav key option lg offers but still I don't want to have a non functioning notification bar. I didnt do anything to my phone around the time this happenEd, just picked it up and found I couldn't pull it down. I've tried restarting, reflashing and wiping. I've even got it back to "unrooted" status in both the settings and download mode incase its a digitiser issue. Any thoughts guys? Id rather not loose my pride and joy for a week at the least if you guys have some ideas.
Thanks for your time and assistance :fingers-crossed:
I jave tje same issue are you using the xsposed because thats about wen mine happened. After i updated i noticed the center clock freezes and notification wont pull down. How ever a system ui reboot(soft reboot) fixes my issue

I might have done something with xsposed, maybe hiding the location icon. I reflashed the entire phone so Im pretty sure that includes a ui reboot somewhere in there. Also I found out it works in landscape mode, I can just pull it down like regular. Using the dev features "show touches" "show touch data" in none of my touches are recognised where the notification bar would be (top 1/4th inch near mic) even when in landscape mode.

I enabled things, not many, if any. They would have been enabled for a while tho before the problem arose. Wouldn't reflashing the system wipe out any software changes?

Hello everyone. What i am here to present is a possible workaround until CM sorts out the flikering graphics which some of us sometimes have with any kernel. This must be something related to CPU rendering which is not well instructed.
So i need your help.
For anyone having ghost touches i need you to add the following line to the build.prop, and after adding it, reboot.
persist.sys.use_dithering=1
if doesnt fix then.
persist.sys.use_dithering=2
According to cm gerrit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/19532/
Can possibly fix color banding(1) and blur effect(2). (i believe the ghost touches are blur effect so, i would try out option 2)
About the graphical flickering some of us sometimes have it, just check on Developer options : Disable HW overlay (always use GPU for screen composing)
then let me know the results.
I'm currently studying how build.prop works so, i can of find these options insteresting to improve our ROM experience with options which atualy do some changes.
Thanks for your help on this research,
Regards.

Yup rebooted, don't have a camera handy atm. I never experienced ghost touches unfortunately, just yellow banding.
But i have seen graphical glitches and flickering occur once or twice, i'll see if they reappear

Probably won't. At least that is expected. When you use only GPU for composing it shouldn't appear. Also in same cases increase battery life. Still studying the best strategy for this.

Why would using the GPU to draw everything cause an increase in battery life?

No. Draw only with GPu for those having graphical issues on using apps which don't require GPU.
In some cases it might increase battery life as it is faster than cpu do draw design. Something I cannot say without studying properly.
@Theshawty shouldn't take too long to try out (dithering option 2 perhaps?)

I have been experiencing the graphical flickering every time I update to 38r - most noticeable when scrolling through menus, bits of the screen appear stuck or flicker all over the place.
I just tried your suggestion to disable HW overlay and I can report that this appears to have fixed the issue! :fingers-crossed: Is this something the CM developers could explore for the next release?
I restarted my phone and the flickering reappeared, went back into developer settings and noticed disable HW overlay was unticked again - shouldn't this stay ticked between restarts?
Also by ticking this option, is it going to possibly cause any performance issues?
Sometimes my screen doesn't respond in the right corner. Could this workaround help too?
A reboot fixes my problem...

OK, so every time I restart the phone I have to go into developer settings and re-tick disable HW overlay...why isn't this setting sticking after a restart??!?

Been having this issue since I got it. None of the updates have resolved it. 9.0.7 hasn't been as bad as 9.0.6 was, but it still happens at least once a day. Haven't updated to 9.0.10 yet. This is my only real gripe I have with this device so far.
I have mine set to tap once on screen to wake up. Sometimes I get this where I need to press power button to wake up.

I have checked with both single tap and double tap, both of them aren't perfect. Miss mostly when phone is idle for too long. Have to use power button in those cases.
I have had the same issue on both 9.0.7 and beta 1. Sometimes tapping the screen does nothing. The phone does not wake up and i have to got the power button (I have it set on single tap to wake).
I suspect it could have something to do with pocket mode.
I have the same problem. Disabling pocket mode did not resolve the problem.

I took the update last night and did not notice until today that the recents button no longer works. There is animation when I press the button and swapping the buttons doesn't help so I do not believe it is a hardward issue. I also tried using gestures instead of the buttons and still cannot see my recent apps. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Embarrassed to say that was it for me too. I froze the OnePlus launcher because I prefer Nova. I've never seen nav bar buttons tied to a launcher before but I wish I had figured it out before I wiped everything and started over.
I had some similar problems before, with different devices and aosp roms. It seems there's some link between launchers and recents apps.
