Okay so hopefully someone can help me with this, but I have a number of x265 encoded MKV vids on my tab.
I've always used MX Player Pro to play these vids, and on the other three tablets I've owned the videos playback fine. But on my Tab e the videos playback very stuttery and pixelated and I honestly don't know what to do to fix it.
If anyone knows how to fix this problem I would really appreciate it if you would let me know how.
Well thanks a lot for the help...
interesting stuff.

I've tried playing videos in mp4 and wmv format on my x1,but they don't play smoothl, they get stuck.
Can anyone tell me the actual specifications for videos i.e. format, bitrate, framerate etc., so that they can play flawlessly on my X1?
THANKS!!!!!!!!
I second that request. I have tried 15 different converters and a bunch of codecs and i never got good quality with smooth playback
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I am w.r.t. videos freezing on the Tab.
I've got a couple of videos ripped from the web (HD - 720p & 1080p) in mp4 format. Sometimes when I watch them either using RockPlayer or the OEM player I get sound but frozen video from some older video that I've played. No matter what video I play, I see the same image, but the sound is from the file which I'm currently trying to watch.
A soft reset seems to sort out the issue. But any ideas as to why this is happening? And what I could do to sort it out (besides rebooting)?
P.S. I notice that when I turn off hardware decoding in RockPlayer the videos play, but obviously due to the fact that they don't have dedicated VPU power they stutter and play in slow-mo. Will try with an SD file and edit this post with my findings. Still...Will be interesting to see if anyone else is experiencing the same shizznit.
I have got the same problem and believe me we are not the only people who has the same problem! its a bug that most the galaxy tab has it! the only solition is soft reset!
Hi all,
I'm looking to play 720p mkv hi10p videos with embedded subtitles on my Nexus 7. I'll probably want to be doing this by streaming it off a computer or accessing a Samba share.
Does anyone know if this is possible?. Trying to toss up my purchase with the knowledge that its easy / do-able to watch tv shows, movies and things like anime.
Cheers!
I'm just downloading vPlayer to see how it works with my Serviio server. I'll let you know how it goes.
the latest beta VLC player worked for me, was having abit hit or miss with mxvideo player but VLC just played everything i threw at it off my western digital tv live hub.
I tested a 720p hi10p video yesterday using MX Player Pro, no streaming over air.
A couple of frame drops, cannot handle panning scenes very well.
Styled subtitles however look ace, I haven't bothered to check out advanced typesetting though.
Have been exploring the ability on my phone with ES explorer and different media players. 8 bit 720p mkvs work perfectly. 10 bit just falls about for me though on a GNEX with just about every player. Obviously there is a difference in processing power though.
Keen to know if anyone gets it working / how (even if its a solution like PLEX).
Just wondering about video format compatability, I have a galaxy s3 and I can dump darn near any video on it and it plays it like a champ with the stock video player. The N7 on the other hand is really picky about videos, and most of the time I have to use vplayer to play anything and it plays like crap. Can anyone weigh in on this?
Use MX player seems to be fine for me
MX or Dice, and throw anything you got at it.
I know you can get video apps that will play different file formats, I guess my main question is why do different devices have different video capability when running almost the same OS?
Hi,
I have a problem with playing 4k videos on my Galaxy S5, SM-G900F. Whenever I record something with 4k quality and play it, it's fine. But when I download a short 4k video and play it, it either stutters or plays it @ 1 FPS. That is, it shows a frame for a second and it disappears for a second and so on... Also it happens to have no sound at all.
What gives? Has anyone else had this problem too?
Thanks.

Just because it does not fully support all 4k video formats (codec).
Maybe the newer firmware will support more formats.

OK. Maybe I should try finding different codecs. I think players like BS Player and MX Player support custom codecs. If anyone knows of any good 4k codecs for Android I'd be grateful.
