If you're rooted and have a custom kernel.. set screen config for red green blue down a little
Use colour filter app and set black overlay to 10 %

Hello,
I have a Moto X Style.
Just a few hours ago started seeing a white very thin vertical line in the middle of the screen that goes from top to the bottom.
Didn't do anything special with the phone, scrolling facebook... just turned off the screen, and then turned it on and voila... it's there
The line is most noticeable in bright blue screen. Tried to take a picture of it, but doesn't have good camera so it isn't noticeable in pictures. Also it doesn't shows on screenshots and it appears even in recovery so it's definitely hardware...
The phone is only 3 months old... But I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted so I think the warranty is void...
Does anyone have/had some expirience with this and can help me?
Or the only way is to pay for a repair?
Thanks in advance...

If no physical damage moto will repair unlocked phones that have hardware failure. Best to get a ticket started and get some help over in their forums. Advanced swap is best even if it costs a couple bucks.

Thanks
Anyway, yesterday happened another strange thing. I was taking pictures with the camera, then noticed that all the screen covered with white horizontal lines half transparent as if it is some sort of interference.. Restarted the phone and the lines disappeared, but also the vertical line got much thinner. You need to search for it really hard to find it. So maybe it was stuck pixels or something? I don't know
So it leads me to confusion. Either i leave it as it is as the problem is barely there, but then I'm afraid it will come back later, or i talk to Motorola, but then how am i gonna prove them if they won't find the line?
Thanks

I would discuss it with them regardless. If you still see the problem then they should be able to as well. Be persistent and very detailed about the problem. If you can get photos magnified showing the issue more clearly, even better as it clarifies the exact problem.

OP already stated it doesn't come up in screenshots. It's clearly a hardware issue...
I have this issue I believe. Except that it's when I dim the screen the previous images on the screen will not refresh.
See video I shot of it, at 1min 30sec I can start to see the ghosting. The white lines come and go too, usually when the screen is off and I wave at it to get the circles to appear so I can pause/play music. The more black on a screen the more likely it is to get lines down it.

Any luck in fixing this? My phone has the same issue and I keep reading things that say its a driver problem. Really seems to be hardware to me though, given that the same issue shows up in recovery mode...
Hi, same issue here. Had it for ages now, tried to return mine but Moto refused repair as my bootloader is unlocked. Have this issue in each and every ROM I try, stock or custom. Definitely seems like hardware.
If I keep the screen brightness up above 50% it's fine but anything below about 50% and it's unusable.

Same issue since some days
Ever since nougat update I can see screen burn in top right where time is displayed. What do you guys recommend? Should I use warranty? Will it increase?
Me too have this problem

I've once replaced. The replacement screen started burn-in after one month.

It is a common problem with every LCD hd displays and amoled displays
The software puts a lot of brightness in the screen, and the screen can't handle this. Use the Bluelight Filter app with the black filter in 5%. The LCD of this phone is not designed to support super white-brightness screen.
Has anyone who used the application had any problems again?

I've used it. Almost no burn in but you can see some if you observe closely. Now i just use color calibration in custom roms.
I'm using moto g4 plus with marshmallow version im getting yellowish display is this normal or I should replace my phone

Its normal for moto g4 plus.
Might reduce a bit with time. But this is how moto g4 plus display is callibrated.
Some have less tint some have more.
Now I'm using screens adjuster for white color or should I change the phone

You can change with a hope to receive a better callibrated screen.
Being a big LG fan and owning numerous LG phones over the years, I think I join the community when I say the G5 was a flop. I enjoyed the phone over the last year, but it had many quirks that should not exist for a flagship phone. One of those quirks being screen burn in. I feel it started about the 7 month mark and is only getting worse. What worries me is that the new G6, which I very much looked forward to, has the SAME screen!!!! Isn't burn in just going to be an issue on that phone as well or is there more to burn in that maybe I am aware of such as phone temp, heat dissipation and so on?
LCD shouldn't burn in.
Are you sure you don't have a fault with the display on the G5?
I have read about it in multiple forums. Its possible its a fault in the display, but its not just mine.

It`s not burn in, it`s image retention
I have the same issue. Hoping it's not same for the G6.
I was have same problem on g3, g4 and now on g5. I change screen (g5) but same problem
Screen is "same" so i think problem will be on g6
I had a Nexus 5 for 2 years and never had image retention.
I deliberately avoid amoled, so the last half a dozen or more phones I've had are LCD (some of which the display will have been made by LG if not the phone) and never had image retention.
Even my Sony TV has an LG panel.
The last good LG phone was G2, others had burn in issue, I'm pretty sure that G6 will have it.
I know that the technical name isn't burn in but ir looks the same and happens to every LG G3,4,5,V10,20 soon or later.
PS: I was a big LG fan due G2 but got disappointed.
I had "always on" turned on, on my g6
can confirm the clock has burnt in

My LG G6 has a screen burn in that will not go away. Phone is 2 months old. Only noticeable on a light background. It is of the game Pokemon Go the poke ball at bottom of screen is burnt in. Haven't played the game in a week and burn in remains.

I have a 5 months old G5 plus and I frequently notice that the screen starts flickering whenever the phone is in low-medium brightness.
It gets fixed if I increase the brightness but again after sometime, as the brightness changes with lighting conditions, same issue occurs again.
Anyone else noticing same problem? I'm guessing this is a common problem with Moto G5 Plus
Thanks

I didn't exprence any such problems. It seems your screen is not working properly, take a replacement by going to Motorola service centre as it was only 5 months older.
AFAIK the display does use pulse-width modulation to dim the screen (quickly switching it off and on), but at such high frequencies that it shouldn't be visible at all. Even using a custom kernel to lower the brightness to nearly zero I can't spot any flickering. As riyan said it's likely malfunctioning.

Yes this is a problem with many G5+, for me it mostly happens when I use my phone during charging (which is a very bad practice). I face the issue once in a month or so.

If the device is having warranty, then give it to service centre as they will replace a screen at free of cost, before the warranty get expired and screen get screwed, I suggest you to do a screen replacement under warranty. If warranty is expired then wait until the screen just get screwed and buy a new screen or buy a new device.
Yesterday i noticed this, it's a very subtle flick but it does happen..
