I'm on x720 and want an all English splash screens. There is a guide on here on how to do it, but I don't know how to extract the images in the attached zip file; it's just one big .IMG file. Is there anyone that can help me? Do you think you can create it for me?
I want to just change the FASTBOOT screen in the zip file with the PNG image attached.
Any help is much appreciated!

hi.
Like what i did,
1: download latest o2 mini rom from o2 (malaysia) site.
2: download HTC64 Rom Tools from wiki.xda-developers.com.
3: unpack *.exe (rom files until u get ms.nbf)
4: run HTC64 and check "extract splash screen".
5: u will get *.nb file. (this is the original splash screen)
6: search in this site about creating splash screen. (the author is AMPDA)
7: u r done if u follow the instruction.
Here it is! Just unzip it.
Thx guys... sorry to mention that i need for the exec...
The one I posted is for the Exec. Do you still need anything or has your problem been solved?

I would help you more (by uploading the images) but since I don't have the phone yet, I'm afraid I can't.
I will upload the files for you if you can tell me how to extract them from my phone. I presume I will just need to "dd" a couple of partitions, can you confirm, and if so, which ones ?
Edit - partitions 22 and 25 ?
Edit2 - argh, my phone isn't rooted yet, so I don't think I can do it

I will be so happy. I really appreciate this. will waiting.
ok, I rooted my phone. Just extracting the images now, will upload soon.
An extraction from a phone is not required
Download the official ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822908
Now, run the RUU, let it load, and keep it open (don't close it)
Go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\
look for the 2 new folders and search inside for rom.zip (it's the biggest file)
Open rom.zip with WinRAR or ZIP and there inside you will have boot.img and system.img

You're very welcome, and I'm glad it help.
Thank you also for giving me the push to root my own phone !
So after a lot of Googling, I finally found a tool that does this for our unlocked Turbos. If you'd like to change your boot logo (or bootloader menu headers, or powered-off charging screen, or other things that are governed by logo.bin), this is how to do it the easy way:
1. Get this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/themes-apps/app-motorola-boot-logo-maker-source-t2848667
2. Download an existing logo.bin for your device. I used this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/themes-apps/moto-maxx-black-motorola-logo-boot-t3065141
3. Open the logo.bin you just downloaded with the tool from step 1.
4. The GUI will show you every image contained within the logo.bin that you opened. Replace whatever image(s) you want with a 24 bit bitmap that has the exact same dimensions as the image that you are replacing, and make sure the bitmap appears upside-down. Other image formats may work, but this is what I used. Note that logo_unlocked will be the image that you see when you power on the phone, not logo_boot.
5. Either save as a flashable zip and flash using TWRP, or save as a .bin file and flash using the following fastboot command: fastboot flash logo <name of .bin file>
And that's it. It doesn't get any easier.
UPDATE: It looks like the software has issues making flashable zips, so here's how to make it yourself:
1. Download this zip file: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24531035584725310
2. Use the software to save your custom logo as a logo.bin file (do not give it any other name).
3. Unzip the contents of the zip file to any folder.
4. Place your logo.bin file in the same folder that you extracted everything to.
5. Re-make the extracted files (including your logo.bin) into a zip file.
6. Flash with TWRP.
I just realized that I should have posted this under Themes and Apps. If a mod sees this and agrees, please move it there.
Still an epic find - This takes modding the DT to a new level
Can someone please post a link with the existing logo(s)?
Nevermind, I guess I wont really need the "bootloader is unlocked" image.
Can't get the software to make a flashable zip. I had to make some changes to get them to flash.
Anyway here is a flashable zip for a decepticon emblem.

If you want the stock, unmodified logo.bin, just download the official SU4TL-44 factory image. You'll find it in the zip file. http://www.rootjunkysdl.com/getdown...o/Firmware/VRZ_XT1254_SU4TL-44_44_CFC.xml.zip
Can't get mine to work Every time I flash the zip it errors on me. Image is the same size, file size is good...not sure why it's erroring on me. I flashed the Decepticons zip and that works just fine.

Take the logo.bin file out of your created zip and replace the logo.bin inside my deception one. I couldn't get the software to make it either.

Did you try using fastboot to flash the .bin file? Mine flashed fine that way. I used a picture from my gallery. I had to open it with 'paint' and change the size until it was small enough for the program to save it. Its about 1/2 of my screen, but it worked.

Software issue. Not sure if it is user error or not, but mine was jacked up too.
P.S. what did you make?
I have unlocked a Droid Turbo running cm12.1 nicely.
Upon trying to fix Boot logo, I happened to mess up Fastboot Menu. Fastboot menu has changed.
seems like that logo fixing has flashed lower-resolution fastboot menu. text is very small..

Ok, so I got it to work.
Created the logo.bin file with my images
added the logo.bin to the Logo_Flasher.zip using WinZip add to file function
Now for some reason my image is not going full screen but that's another matter.
I'll update all the .bin files to flash-able zip's later today
OK, now they are all flashable ZIPs via TWRP...

What? Too too large to upload what? You download it direct from zteusa's site. Extract the update.zip file, then extract whatever partition images you need from the update.zip.

Hi!
I would like to create a boot animation that uses the basic J5 bootloop.
I would need you to convert the .qmg to .png and send to me. It's very simple with this app created by @xperiacle (Original thread). I would do it myself but the ROM used to convert the file must be either stock or stockish to work and I would lose so many settings, tweaks etc. by flashing stock and then back. As a reward I would of course hit the thanks button, send you the animation (if you please) and honor you as my savior for life! Also if you have an idea or reasonable preference(s) for the boot animation, I will make it happen.
Anyways here are the instructions stolen from the original thread (don't kill me xperiacle!):
"So just download the app(Qmg2Png), install, and pick an apk(Extract_this.apk) from sdcard and the app will extract the qmg resources and convert them to png format and saving them in the QMg2Png folder in the sdcard. The output folder retains the folder structure of the extracted apk."
Thank you in advance! Peace! :good:

It's in the .qmg format. There is no other way to extract it that I know of. Bootanimation.zip? No problem. Qmg? Pain in the ass.
Edit: just to be clear the stock rom uses an encoding/decoding method for qmg files that don't exist in custom roms nor is it used by any other than samsung phones. But anyhow it is not the end of the world for me if I don't get it extracted. Then I just focus on some other ideas for animations.

OK let me ask you this?
What is preventing yourself from making a backup of your device with twrp which literally takes minutes, install the rom you require, do what you need and then simply restore?
@ashyx You are right but I don't want to flash any rom since when I do, I get this weird issue with my screen; I am unable to turn it off and it seems to be a matter of luck to get it working again. Thank you anyways! https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/help/screen-help-t3585090
