Hi, guys.
I found a video on youtube and a guide on xda on how to port roms from one device to another. Since the opo and opx almost have the same specs, I'm thinking on porting AICP rom to opx.
What do you guys think?
Im far from being a developer, but I want to learn, and I think this can be a good beginning.
Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
Edit: I'm not going to port AICP rom to OPX anymore, instead, I'm building from source.
Hopefully, we're going to have an aicp rom soon.

I think that will require more skills since it will be more difficult. :| But maybe with help from people that know I can make it.
I would love aicp on this phone, let me know if you get it going! Shout up Davor Bertovic on Google+, he's a developer on the AICP project, he might be able to point you in the right direction

I don't have dev skills neither. >.< It will be my first experience in things like this. Even though porting is nothing like developing or building from source. I will learn that but later.

The thing with this roms is that there is no based rom of these in OPX yet, and to port (as far as I've read) you need a port rom (rom in OPO) and a base rom (rom in OPX).
For example: I chosed AICP 5.1.1 because is based in CM, and we (OPX) have a 5.1.1 CM rom, so they're very similar. There might be a Color OS rom on OPO but we don't have a similar rom on OPX, and to port them will require some real development skills which I don't have. ;D
AOSP marshmallow would be awesome...I don't manage to build it cuz of a weird bug but maybe you can !

I hope so too, man. I just wrote to Davor Bertovic for permission to port AICP to opx, lets wait and see what he thinks about it.

This guy is porting kitkat to kitkat but should be almost the same process on lollipop. Im just using this as a guide.

Hello guys. I want to know if anyone can compile a pure AOSP rom with basic features such as screenshot delete and pre root. It would be great if there would be a rom purely based on AOSP with no modifications

Please i request to the people who are good in porting the roms please port roms based on touchwiz and oxygen os too,going just on aosp and cm does not bring changes much to our beast .Users like me also want better eye catching ui which is not always possible by cm and aosp.
If anyone interested to give any other roms please suggest , as i expect we have more porters for our device..............:fingers-crossed:

You can theme your phone with the cyanogenmod themes. There are tons of it in google play.

thanks but I have already tried that, it works but for charging only, there is no option to set it as notification led.
By the way, would you suggest lineage or resurrection remix for stability in everyday use, lagfree and memory management for multitasking? or are they similar from this point of view?

Are some developers interested in compiling AOSP for harpia?(without custom features, apps or addons, just Vanilla Android) There are many custom ROM's, but nobody is interested in compiling a basic ROM like that...

I mean Nougat.
So far there is only one AOSP ROM (still with UI customizations) for harpia, and it is based on Android 7.1.1 (an old rev, apparently abandoned)
The problem is, I do not understand how they develop such complex ROMs, with many customizations, addons, etc.
But no one is encouraged to compile a ROM so basic, it should be for those who seek the simplest possible experience and without unwanted addons, which most can not be removed (see Lineage, AEX, RR, etc.)
Not everyone is looking for the ROM with more options, some are looking for the opposite. So the person chooses that part of the ROM to modify and all happy (and this happens in almost all devices and developments)

Sure is - one of the primary reasons I go with Moto handsets. Don't have to doink around with custom ROMs before getting to the real fun.

It is one of the toughest thing to build PA for any device... Few Roms like Nitrogen , OMNI etc are very tough to build including PA.. So it'll take some time to be build of someone is already working on it.. Or else forget it:silly:

Yeah,I have seen paranoid and some ROMs are ported to very few devices.
