Camera not wroking.... Media server died error... - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Can anyone help me to solve the problems regrading media server died, whenever i try to open camera in my redmi 2 prime(india version).
Think i alredy try to solve by non of them work--
1.Try different 3rd party app of camera by non of them work...
2.try force closed and clean data in camera app..
3. Different custom rom including (L-Os, rr, gzr)
4. Fastboot redmi 2 prime stable rom..

Take off your backcover.Place two 1cm pieces of matchstick 0.5cm below the camera's lower edge and close the back cover carefully making sure the matchsticks are at correct place.Dont mind the bulge. Now try camera app. It worked for me.

or maybe buy a new camera module from aliexpress and install that

I have the same problem, same gionee, I, tried focal app and camera doesn't open.
I erased all app data and cache, made factory reset and nothing. In hardware information app front Camera don't appear. I beg u, Hlp plz
1 Try a few camera apps from play store (if u have kk install google camera app)
2 If every app turns the same problembit could be a hardware issue
3 To be sure of that flash a stock rom and test the camera app.
If by now you re not able to use the front camera you should consider send the phone to repair
thank u

Has anyone solved this issue? I have exactly the same problem. It seems to have happened after I installed the official update. I have tried several roms, cleared cache etc..
i think its must be a hardware issue
i tried and no solution so far. It must be an hardware issue..

[Q] Camera Shows Black Screen

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S4 I9505 device. I am running the Imperium ROM 7.0 (i.e. Lollipop).
All this time the Camera application was working just fine. But now from some days when ever i open up the Camera application (Rear Camera) i noticed that the screen showed up Green lines on the screen and then the camera application stopped functioning. The app just used to hang and do absolutely nothing.
And now when I open the camera application the screen is completely dark showing absolutely nothing and doing absolutely nothing.
Solutions that I have tried are as follows:
1. I cleared all the Camera Application cache and it did not help.
2. I Cleared Cache and Dalvik Cache but even that did not help.
3. Tried 2 different ROMS, a. Stock ROM and b. AOSP ROM and found the same camera behaviour.
The front camera is working absolutely fine though.
Any suggestions? I now believe that the Camera Module is dead.
If so has anyone of you replaced your camera module, and would you mind sharing your success story?
Thanks
Seeing a few posts like this
There are quite a few posts like this recently. I tried swapping for a known good camera module and it did not fix my problem. Either this is related to some type of software update from google, or our motherboards are going bad.

Rear camera is not working

How did you get rear camera to work on CM13 and CM14.1? Camera app is force closing and after that if i try to reopen it I have a message "can't connect to camera".
I wiped everything that I can. A lot of times. I tried fixes in samsung s4 thread (with camera restart and mod). Nothing is helping. BTW, frontal camera is working perfect, but it's a kinda hell to take photos only with frontal camera.
Oh, i forgot to add. Before force closing system freezes for a nearly 10 sec.
im on cm 14.1 on lenovo k920 and everything working fine except few bugs which i hope will be solved in new updates as it is in developing mode....
try to flash room again and do a format and see if it solve your problem and dont forget to backup your important data

Camera Error

Hey y'all, I got the G6 yesterday and had a camera related question. This is a brand new device, fully updated, and when I go to open the camera, a message pops up saying "Camera Error: Camera Unavailable." Does anyone know how I can fix this?
This seems like an app error because the camera works well on Facebook and Snapchat.
settings -apps-camera -clear cache and date reboot-try!
If not working.....if not working.?.RMA
I already did that and I get the same error. I find this odd.
I was wrong. Both Snapchat and Facebook switch between the single and dual lense back cameras. They do not switch to the front camera.

I have the same issue with my LG G6. Have you fixed yours?
I got a new one, only way to fix it.
Im having the same issue after a screen replacement. The people who replaced the screen even boight a new front camera and replaced it with no luck. Also, the screenshot button for the bottom bar is conpletely missing which i find very odd.
That error seems to be the camera unpluged
I mean the phone is made of connections between hardware and the camera is not connected , its an hardware problem that is fixed by open the phone and plug jt in

I have the same issue with my phone. I replaced the cameras and it still gets the error; however, it does come on when I use a barcode reader...?
I also have the same issue (lg g6 - android 9)
When i open stock app for camera i get error "Camera unavailable".
But with other camera apps like Gcam or Open Camera, it works fine.
I flashed with new rom, but the error is still there.
Any ideas???
- i flashed with Android 9... not solved
- i flashed with Android 8... not solved
Hardware problem?
in that case why camera works fine with any other application, except stock?
Software problem?
it should have been solved after flashing two original roms (8 & 9).
The only explanation i can think is that there is hardware problem with 1 of the 2 camera. And maybe with the wide one. And maybe that's why it is not working with stock app. Maybe other camera apps don't require both camera's (normal and wide lens) to be working.

Any fix for forced camera open/close actions?

Hey everyone,
I'm not sure whether only I experience this issue, since I did see another user experiencing the same problem -
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80259801&postcount=163
On a custom ROM - whenever I use the front camera, and then change a mode (for example, open the front camera in photo mode, then move over to video) - the camera tries to open again, and there's an audible grinding sound coming from inside the phone. Same thing happens when I enter Instagram photo mode and close it right away - the camera opens half way, then tries to close beyond what it can, grinding noises ensue.
This did not happen on MIUI (global, 10.3.11.0), only on the custom ROMs I tried (Lineage, Pixel Experience)
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any idea how to fix it? I'm worried it might damage the phone...
at the moment there is no way to fix it. Avoid changing modes with extended front camera. Always switch to rear, then change camera modes and switch back to front camera. Its happening on all custom roms. The camera motor should be able to handle this kind of abuse but I wouldn't want to risk it, so if you feel unable to avoid triggering it, you should go back to MIUI.
the problem is also known and was fixed in the rr image with the gcam, see changelog from 20-08-2019
I do not say if the fix was shared in other images

Unfortunally that is on K20 Pro. We can't just reuse their fixes because their implementation is different from the one on davinci. Also they reuse MIUI vendor for their roms while we use a custom vendor, which makes porting stuff over even harder. davinci trees actually have the commit.
here is the commit that fixed it for rr:
https://github.com/TheMarionette/de...mmit/3dabb66ef3ea5716368098608bfb3521f2cf73b0
here is the related commit in davinci-dev:
https://github.com/davinci-dev/andr...mmit/2a85ff40441e15e73bced4ee40b01ba594ddeded
unfortunally that did not fix it for our device.
