Hi. That is correct. Although, if there are no more Edge phones in the future that could curtail development on this one at a more rapid rate. I was also concerned about this with respect to next phone I will buy, which is hopefully a continuation of the Edge series.

I can't go back to a normal phone now iv used an Edge phone. It is wrong to not promote a phone properly then stop upgrading, Samsung fail.

I think Note Edge series will be replaced by S6 Edge plus. It will be 5.7' screen and edge screen on both sides.

I'll keep my Edge forever then!

Face it. For good or for bad, we've got the very definition of a Frankenphone.
In spite of all the positive media attention and how quickly it sold out in every market they made it available, Samsung doesn't seem interested in make the Note Edge as we know it part of their yearly lineup.
They seem more interested in tinkering around with their own in-house mobile platform that is completely useless, clunky, and a waste. Oh, and don't forget smart watches - talk about sinking money and manpower into something that is a niche market at best.

The more u see about the note 5, 5 edge (or s6 edge plus) scares me. I cant believe that the note edge was so under appreciated. I loved the hell out of mine. In fact regret getting rid of it especially if there will be no note edge 2. I traded mine for a nexus 6 thinking "in a few months the next version will be out and i will grab one"
The more i see about the s6 plus i am worried that there will be almost no edge function on anymore phones. The fact that the edge had an actual ton more use than the s6 edge really sucks if things are going to be the way they appear

In my opinion S6E+ it only matters for the battle with iPhone. Samsung must take into account NE2.

Well, perhaps there is hope for those that need micro sd. Presumably battery can be pulled too.

Sadly the Note Edge is more functional than a phone with 2 edges, how the hell is this possible?? LMAO!!!

But it seems as though by then and the direction the S6Edge+ and Note 5 are headed in I'll becoming a devoted LG Stylus user, where they don't remove parts and call it a upgrade, such as the microSD Slot and removable battery.

Samsung if I wanted a to buy a iPhone I'd buy an iPhone or ChinAndroid iPhone, quit trying to force your competitors specs on us and call it a better experience and a upgrade, lack of a battery and microSD slot is not a gain no matter how you look at it.

Most likely going on the Samsung Upgrade program actually. Coming from a White S6 Edge mainly for the improved camera and better battery. Will probably sell the S6 Edge to counter some of the cost as I have another 12 months on my phone contract, then go Sim Only next time I'm due to upgrade. Will go to the Samsung Store tomorrow to check it out properly before deciding on colour.

Gonna preorder the Edge tomorrow haven't had an android phone since the S5 .

Coming from a much used 2.5 year old Note 3. Love it but it's a little long in the tooth now and the camera is awful. Got a good deal as I bought two S7 Edge phones along with 20% discount due to who I work for. Looking forward to the 8th, as I believe those who pre ordered get them 3 days early.

I've changed phones more often than usual these 2 past years, but as of the time of ordering the S7 Edge I'm using the G4. Absolutely amazing phone in almost every way, but the battery is lackluster at best. Went for the Edge mainly because of the 3600mah battery. Now I just need a couple of Qi 15w chargers as S7/E are supposed to support quicker wireless charging.
I'm still unsure if the camera will be an upgrade or downgrade from the G4 though, and I know I'll miss the IR-port.

I wouldn't mind getting the S7 Edge if it wasn't for the larger screen. Currently I have the S6 Edge and I think the size is just right. S7 Edge is just too big...

I will go S7 Edge from my Note 3 I kind of not like the Edge at all, but it's battery capacity and bigger screen make's up for it. I would just love to have the same spec in a Note 5 body instead!

Pre ordered the S7 Edge coming from a Nexus 6P. The 6P is an amazing phone, snappy, beautiful panel and backed by a sea of development. It gets a little dull tho, after a while. So i want to try out a Samsung.

Coming from a Nexus 5x, it really has gone downhill at this point, lags like crazy now. Moving down from 5.5" screen was more difficult than I thought as I found it difficult to type so it's back to a 5.5" screen. I just got a new GMC Yukon which has a wireless charging pad built in and will look forward to that feature as well.

I'm coming from a Note 4. Already pre-ordered and really looking forward to trying out the camera looks amazing from what videos I've seen.

Note 5 or S7 Edge?

Hey guys! I am new to Samsung coming from the LG G4.
Verizon is sending a warranty replacement Note 5 64gb but I was hell bent on the S7 Edge so I bought the S7 Edge full price thinking I can sell the Note 5 to recoup my money.
Before I left I figured I'd at least look at the Note 5 and actually impressed. The Edge apps are already wearing as unneeded. I only had the S7E for a few hours. The Edge also seems to take away from some screen space.
If I returned the Edge for the Note 5, would I really be missing anything? I think the SPEN would probably be more handy than the quick side widget.
Thoughts? I don't want to open the Note 5 unless I plan to keep it so I can't do a direct comparison.

The Samsung S7 Edge is my first Android based phone. I have been using IPhone since it's first release. Although I can't give a comparison based on the Note 5 as I have never used it, I can say that the Samsung s7 edge is the most amazing phone I have ever used in my life. This is coming from someone who just 1 week before laying hands on the phone swore he will never leave iPhone.
I should add that the s7 edge is water resistant, so you might want to at least take that factor into consideration.

Had the note. Abused it and rooted it, roms and everything. Jere are my views...
S7 edge is easier to hold, bigger battery, seems faster and quick. Camera is better and focusing is amazing. Waterproof but I haven't swam with it yet.
SD card slot is big for me as it has my entire mp3 library and pictures too.
I used the spen mainly for sharing pictures but I hardly used it for drawing stuff.
Up to your preference I guess.

Hi, I had a Note 2 & a Note 3 and barely seemed to use the Spen. I went to a Note because I couldn't live with a small screen any longer. Once the iPhone 6+ came out I immediately headed back to Apple (being an Apple fan girl but always willing to live in iOS or Android world). All that being said, once I even started reading about or talking to friends about the S7 Edge, I knew I wanted it sight unseen. Pre-ordered it & got it 2 days ago. I haven't been able to put it down at all!it is so slick! The screen size is as large as the 6+ but the footprint is so much smaller. Other than the SPEN, what draws you specifically to the Note 5 that the S7 Edge couldn't provide? I'm even using a 200gb SanDisk microSD card. Much better than paying for a 128gb iPhone again.

Wife has had the Note5 for several months, I just got the S7 Edge.
I almost got the Note 5 - reasons swayed to S7E:
- SD card - I need more space than the Note 5 provides, keep a bunch of photos, movies, etc., on my phone. I have a Samsung Pro+ 128GB SD card in the S7E.
- Can hold/use in one hand - I use my phone a lot w/one hand and the Note 5 is just too big to do that comfortably.
Those are the only reasons I didn't get a Note 5 for myself. I think it's one of the best phones I've used...fast, great camera, beautiful screen, SPen is actually useful, excellent battery life. It's a really nice device.

The older Notes were big but AFTER buying the S7E and looking at the Note 5, it literally is the same size as my G4 was width wise, but 5.7"
The Note they are sending me is 64gb. I normally carry a tablet for movies but 64gb will do me plenty fine. Memory isn't an issue for me.
I don't have a case yet since I still trying to decide what to keep but the S7E is slick. It is kind of hard to hold and my palms keep tapping buttons on the beveled edges.
Overall I really like it though. It seems much smoother than my G4.

Since s7 edge is basically now the same as s6 edge plus (which is a little bit too big for my taste), and the plus models came later, how do you think are the chances that there may come a s7 edge variant that has the size of the standard s6 edge?

I had the S6 Edge Plus and the S7 Edge is smaller I've had them both together

Coming from an S6 Edge, the increase in size of the S7 Edge is almost imperceptible, unless you hold the two phones together.
Samsung has done a great job in increasing the screen size without make the phone visibly larger.

To answer your question, no one but Samsung and it's suppliers know the answer. But given how well both models seem to be selling, I think it's pretty unlikely.

Next to none, I would say. Won't happen. If anything, a S7 Edge + at closer to 6". But that won't probably happen either since they went with 5.5" this time.

It's possible they could bring out an S7 Edge Mini (instead of a Plus, like last year) but who knows.

Let me add to he choir by saying it's highly unlikely they will release a S7 Edge Mini. if hey wanted two sizes they would have done like they did with the S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, bu the S7 Edge is too close to both.

Depends on your current phone but honestly is the best phone I've had the chance to play with. Nothing to complain about here!

What kind of suggestions do you need?
I think it's a great phone. The only other phones I'd consider right now are the htc 10 and the Nexus 6p. I consider the S7 Edge, for my needs and wants, to be better than either. Your needs and wants may be different.
One suggestion: get a case. I've never used cases before, but the S7 is very slippery, and very fragile. I'm using a thin, clear TPU case just to provide better grip, and at least a little protection.

I think this smartphone has everything that you need in a smartphone. Firstly the design of S7 Edge gives you the slimmest feel in your hand without trading off the extra large screen size. Secondly, it's water resistant up to 30 minutes in a depth of 1.5 meters or below. So, I personally suggest you to go for Samsung Edge S7 which happens to be the Best smartphone in 2016

Haha, it's good to see you here again, I upgraded to the edge as well. I worked with you on N4 MM twrp backup if you remember. Anyway, I agree, it is definely worth the upgrade, even though I kinda miss spen.

Best phone out right now. Ditched iphone 6 plus.
