You will void you warranty if you root your phone, your phone will not be covered under warranty..

Does root void warranty?

Hello,
quick question, does rooting void warranty?
and if so, if i unroot and flash the stock rom back... does it still void warranty??
thanks in advance!
No, it doesn't.
Only if you unlock your bootloader do you void your warranty. To root without voiding your warranty use --> http://maketecheasier.com/root-android-phone-without-voiding-warranty/2010/08/13

Nope. Neither does searching. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6043779#post6043779
Technically it does, but if the bootloader is locked, you can unroot leaving absolutely no trace.
HTC don't seem to care about them being unlocked anyway.

This is the important part ... HTC doesn't care. I've sent my phone in twice while rooted and both times it has come back factory reset with the boot loader re-locked.

What an epic post. Thanks for that Paul.
On a somewhat side note there is an article in the Portal that I feel every new user should read... it's about posting, searching, etc. http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/important-xda-announcement-regarding-new-users/

Root

Do we have a root method yet?
I think there is one that works but it trips the flash counter thing.

People who would like to return on warranty.Having had warranty experiences in the past, I am in that group.
I think when it is confiremd it will be in the DEV forum. I read a thread in General about it, and someone claimed they had it, but provided no info.
And Samsung has denied warranty work to users in the past due to the flash counter?

From what I have read, that is my assumption, but I don't know personally. But I had been seriously questioned about ROM version when I had to send my Captivate in. It doesn't have ROM counter.
Check Dev thread. We have one that works.
bottom line is at this point if you trip the flash counter, your warranty if void.
I'm rooted.
Used the Sprint version and everything went smooth as butter.

BS ..Samsung does not void the warranty for an
Obvious hardware issue just because you rooted.

Really, you want to post links because I'm pretty sure the bounty to reset Knox is still unclaimed...

You are wrong unless you supply a link to your claim. The bounty to reset KNOX is still unclaimed as there is still NO WAY to reset it. Please do not give people false hope or make claims you are not willing to back up with proof.

i didn't mentioned exactly knox-bootloader of samsung device
i talked about Bootloader of Android
and example of reset bootloader counter (or flash counter);
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2132670
and search for S4;

:good:
Check out Zroice's thread, seems he has managed to modify the system files to run custom roms (sort of) without tripping KNOX

Root Method for G935P?

Hello, is there a fail proof method for rooting a S7 Edge G935P? The last thing i want is an upset wife with a bricked phone. Lol
Blessings and thank u all in advance
What version of software is the phone on.
CFroot is the best but you will lose warranty as it will trip the knox fuse.
If you are nouget, I suggest you use twrp and magisk to do the job.
