Hello, so I unlocked the bootloader flashing b20.img-> b20_unlock.img-> b20.img again -> b20_to_27.img ->b27_to_b29.img and now when I hit the power on button to wake up the phone, it takes longer than before, if I click it again to turn off the screen and hit it again it wakes up fast, as it used to be... It is kind of annoying
Has anyone experience this?
ah.. I took out the micro SD from the phone, and now the wake up is faster as it used to be??
Seems strange but that fixed it, and in fact I wasn't using the micro sd before, I just insert it to do the bootloader unlock process.. anyways hope that helps someone

Just got my phone, bought it unlocked. Went into the bootloader and accidently chose simlock while looking around before I unlocked the bootloader. Now my phone has an ungly padlock icon at the bottom during bootup. Anyone know how to I get rid of this?
lol i dont know how you "accidentally" went into bootloader, switched to fastboot, pressed volume down 3 times to highlight the simlock option and finally press the power button to select.
anyway try pressing the simlock option again.
I was playing around. I wanted to see what was in there, I didn't think it would automatically lock it like that.
I tried going into it again, but no deal. it's not really an issue for me, just an looks thing really.
i doubt you can do anything by yourself. if you could easily switch between lock and unlock there would be no point to the the SIMLOCK option in the first place. If you really care that much (i would) you can just send it in for a replacement. your call.
You realize... the padlock doesn't reference SIM locking. It references an unlocked Bootloader. (If you look at the padlock closely, it's 'open')
SIM locking requires a key-card for a carrier you wish to lock to... Which I seriously doubt you have
Cheers,
Kermee
Ah thanks kermee I kind of did both at the same time and thought it was the sim lock.

I actually, accidentally, did the same thing you did also and hit "SIMLOCK". It occurred to me because there's a slight "lag" when the Bootloader menu comes up and it's still doing checks for several seconds. And when you hit the VOL-UP and VOL-DOWN buttons, the selection bar doesn't move so you don't think it's NOT working so you just hit the hardware TOP-PWR...
Problem is the hardware button buffer *IS* active while you're at the Bootloader screen and after it finishes the checks... it'll happily go through the button presses you did earlier. (i.e. You're hitting VOL-DOWN a bunch of times, not seeing that it's moving, and coincidentally you hit it 3 times before hitting the TOP-PWR)...
If you look closely when you hit "SIMLOCK", you'll see red error text stating you need a key-card. ... So no harm done
Cheers,
Kermee
Hi,
I have owned my HTC HD2 for about 3 months now. I have had a problem since i first got it which is really bugging me. Sometimes when the phone locks, i am unable to unlock it with the slider. The slider gets to about half way across the screen and then freezes. If i leave it for a few minutes it goes back to a locked position agian and when i attempt to slide the slider across, it freezes.
The only thing which gives me access to my phone again is to perform a hard reset by removing the battery.
Any ideas? The phone is on UK Vodafone and is running the latest firmware (v.1.72)

I don't have an answer, its likely to be sense trying to load something and hanging.there are loads of threads about unlock problems, all different, however I wanted to help you avoid confusion by pointing out that removing the battery is a soft reset, not a hard reset.
I'd start by removing some apps, see if it changes the behavior, then re add til it happens
i've the same issue. but not removing battery, just press little red restard button uder battery cover. i think it happens when i enable rotation of today screen or because of proximatelyscreenoff program bug. after removing today from rotation of bsd tweek i have 1-2 restarts for 2 weeks.
I had the same thing sometimes, but never happened with the latest rom I am using, and I am pretty much installing the same apps over and over after each flash...
You aren't by chance running the facebook application?
Leaving that open and locking your phone will result in you not being able to unlock your phone
I wonder if this problem has anything to do with power supply; I sometimes can't unlock the screen either and a few moments ago my battery had run out and when putting it on AC I wasn't able to unlock it. When it had charged a bit there were no problems unlocking it.

HD2 screen unlock probblem
Hi All,
I have put my screen unlock code as 0000 and set as 5 mins to lock the phone.
But that is becoming a headache now.
Sometime the phone behaves very unusual, it doesn't takes my code "0000", no option rather to reset the phone or remove battery and restart.
After the reset the phone works with my code (0000) but don't know when the same problem starts again.
Need Help..
Anyone solved this problem?
In the Att Tilt2 the power button was on Top & could close the Screen while talking on the phone
How do we do that in the HD2 cos its Off button is on the Red Call Shut button
Anyone
Unlock Problem

HD2 Hard Locked
Okay...so maybe Facebook is locking my HD2. It's LOCKED I'm recharging, I've attemted a soft restart, hard restart and every other restart out there...nothing is working. I even tried pushing the white button below the battery case and holding the volume up and down...I actually thought that it began to do a hard restart. It did begin but then it got stuck at the "swipe" demo. It is definitely stuck.
HELP!!!!
When my screen goes into standby mode / I press the off button and then I want to use my phone again it takes a few seconds after pressing the home button before I can swipe to unlock or enter a unlock pattern.
Is this the case for everyone else? It's really annoying... nothing even registers on the screen for a few seconds.
same with my previous HTC Magic, it took 2 seconds
with this one 1 second =( a bit annoying. but oh well.
I'm using Screen unlock pattern, the time i press the home button the screen show instantly or at most less than a second.

the screen shows instantly, but it doesn't register the touch for me. I have taken some videos of it I'll try and upload later.
I should note that it doesn't do this all the time, at this minute, I'm using unlock pattern and it works fine, but a few hours ago, it wasn't. I wonder if any apps can be causing this??

i can 2nd than, after finish charging it and boot up again now take 1 to 1.5 sec for the screen to show up!!!.then the touch register normal with no delay.
Thanks for your replies,
I've recorded a couple of videos (one a couple of days ago, one today) of the problem. Yesterday my phone was perfect! No sluggishness, no delay in unlock, battery life lasted from 4am to 6pm (double what it has been).
Now today its stuffed again. I left the battery off charge from 11pm last night (was freshly charged then) and it had run out by 8.30 this morning (all it was doing was sitting there! I wasn't even awake). And my swipe to unlock is slow, sometimes i just can't use my phone for a few minutes as it won't let me unlock it/ turn screen on.
I put my phone on charge, and it said that I was on 20% charge after a couple of minutes, but then it started going down.. didn't appear to be charging at all, maybe coz the processor was getting axed?
These are the videos.
1, with standard unlock mechanism.

2. with pin number mechanism this morning

Can anyone help me diagnose this?? It must be a rogue application or something right? Problem occurs on both samsung and other launchers. At present, I've turned my phone into flight mode, and it is now charging normally (and quickly) and the screen is responsive once again, does that give any clues??
thanks in advance for your help, this is really putting a downer on my new expensive phone purchase!!
Same here
I have the same trouble. Yesterday I should show my precious for a friend. It was impossible to unlock the screen. Happened before. Tried to do it for 40 minutes then I removed the battery. Is it better with the pattern-lock? Never used it.

I heard that the Euro version don't have this problem, i tried many sample phones here in Singapore, all have similar problem. and this is not only happening while unlock the phone, but also have delay while opening application.
Aha, that explains it then. As Friend have one to and no delay on his sgs, did ask him after i had write first post here. Guess we had more luck here on that part then..
i have a similiar problem with JPK and now with JM8...when i press the home key the screen turn on in about 1,5-2s. There isn't any delay when i plug in the device with usb cable or ac adapter.
Please help me
*EDIT*
the problem is the microsd...
The only time I have experienced such a delay, is when the phone is in the process of installing something...

I have the same problem with the screen. I took of the microsd and it`s ok like this, but my question is what is the problem with the card? I have an ADATA 8gb
I'm not sure if this is a simple setting or if my question is completely idiotic. Though... My main reason for asking this question is because I'm not sure how phone tracking works (using Cerebus) though if the phone is turned off can the phone still be tracked? If so, what's stopping a user from just powering down my N4 and just formatting it through Fastboot? Thanks in advance for anyone who has a solution to my problem or a explanation as to why my idea is completely illogical.
Lol my best mate has been saying this for months. He wants an app that basically asks for a pin to shut the phone down. Sealed phones have no battery pull so he wants to make sure only he can shut the phone down by a pin / pattern method. Just like an unlock but reversed for locking. This meaning you would in theory be very likely to track your phone in time before it runs out of juice etc or whatever.
So I don't think your question is silly and I'm very interested in any development known.

Well even if someone actually writes an app that asks for a PIN when the you tap on Shut Down, there's still a hardware implementation that will force your phone to reboot or turn off if you press the power button long enough (10-15 seconds I think).
It acts as an alternative to battery pulls.

Yes I kind of tried to explain to my mate that there are always ways to turn the phone off and that maybe his idea is flawed. Thanks.

Just incase anyone else gets it, had a frustrating bug where after using the phone as normal throughout the day, I just went to unlock the phone using the to fingerprint unlock, which it said was unavailable and to use pin to unlock.
Upon inputting the pin it refused to accept the pin, was deffo correct used the same pin for years and years, no way I was getting it incorrect. No matter how many attempts it wouldn't work.
In the lock menu even holding down power I was unable to open the restart or turn off phone options aswell to compond the frustration.
After holding the power button for what felt like forever the phone performed a restart, the phone was able to be unlocked using the pin after the restart.
Had the phone for weeks and this is the 1 and only time it's occured. Just thought I would mention incase it happens to someone else
I can confirm that behavior and also the solution. Had that once as well.
Nearly the same issue here but in my case the power menu to restart the phone "normally" worked.....
