Hi,
I hope, I put this into the right forum.
My phone is a S5 LTE Plus (G901F) with the newest original stock firmware from my provider (T-Mobile) installed. Here are the versions:
Android:
5.0.2
Basisband:
G901FXXU1BOE1
Build:
LRX22G.G901FXXU1BPA2
I would like to root it for being able to remove all the apps, that my provider pre-installed in its firmware. And also to get root access. I've already informed me about CF-Auto-Root. It sounds like it should be easy and it would work good. I have some questions due to that:
Can I root my smartphone with the versions I mentioned above? On the CF Auto Root Website it is shown, that Auto Root is based on the Build LRX22G.G901FXXU1BOK2. That seems to be a newer one, that I've installed on my phone at the moment. Could that be a reason for get problems when rooting it? Can i root it on this way?
Or should I use another solution for rooting? If yes, which one?
Does CF-Auto-Root performs a factory reset when running?
Thanks for your replies in advance.
Greetz
older version of cf autoroot
CF-Auto-Root-kccat6-kccat6xx-smg901f.tar but the one on cf autoroot site works too

have fun
Thanks for your answer. Will the Phone be wiped while rooting?
If this is in the wrong place, feel free to delete this post.
I'm a n00b at rooting and don't trust myself to use a guide which may be outdated. Can someone post me some instructions or a link to an updated version of the root I need. I only want to root my phone to de-bloat it, as I cannot stand those useless apps.
Phone details;
Model number - SM-G900F
Android version - 5.0
Baseband version - G900FXXU1BOJ1
Everything is stock.
Thanks
EDIT 1: I had to do a little research because I couldn't find the baseband version I needed and found out I could use the SM-G900F (International Qualcomm) CF Auto Root which I found on here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537#sthash.8q6iwfow.dpuf
I then followed a video on how to root the phone using the file I had. (I'm a major n00b )
The video I used - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMWzMbM5SCk

Credit to *Detection* for guiding me, I appreciate it bro.
Flash CR Auto Root from the CF AR thread
If that fails, reflash a stock ROM as it will likely bootloop your phone, and follow this guide
or just follow this one first

I'll give these options a go and update the post with my results.
I followed this tutorial to root my S5 on Lollipop, worked on first try [emoji1] It's pretty easy to do, just a few clicks & you're done with it [emoji4]

It's been a while since I've had a Samsung phone, but I recently purchased this S7 second-hand specifically since there is a root method for this phone. I've been reading up for a week, but before I dive in, I'm hoping some of our knowledgeable folks here can help me avoid any irreversible mistakes.
The phone is currently on 6.0.1, October 2016 security update. Is there any reason i shouldn't update to 7.0?
Assuming I do update to 7.0, should I do it first (before root), or do I just flash the engineered boot and the firmware I want? Can I downgrade to 6.0.1 after going to 7.0 if I choose?
I understand there is no custom recovery available, but that I can use Flashfire. Is there any way to use Magisk instead of SuperSU?
Can I use Xposed?
Will altering system in any way trip KNOX? Is there any way to delete system apps (instead of disabling)? Can I move a user app to a system app? (This is the primary reason I'm interested in Magisk, btw.)
As I said, I've done a lot of reading, but couldn't easily find definitive answers to these questions for this particular phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Same Questions, essentially same reasons...

In your reading, and posts/ IRL that have come after yours, have you come up with answers to these questions? I recently fell into one of these phones also on VZW, and am not used to locked everything/ bootloader.
You have discontinued roms that run on 6.0 but other then that there's no real difference in the 2 other then you can't hoo back to 6.0 once updated
Hello everyone, I request your help with this topic, I want to root my MI A1 but via the traditional method (unlock bootloader, install TWRP and flash SuperSu) but so far I haven't found any guide and tools needed for this root method, only Magisk which I'm not pretty confident, so, can anybody guide me and us with this method? I find it easier even though having to install stock OS in order to get updates.
Thanks in advance!

But if you are thinking about SuperSu, i would advice to reconsider Magisk. It is actually better in many way since it is systemless. and the procedure to root and use is just as easy if not easier
Thread cleaned....If you cant help, do not post. That's simple enough.
Its always nice to help so you can always point him in the right direction
