Hey guys,
I have a big problem. I tell you the full story. Last year i've bought my ideos x5. The next 2 weeks after i bought it, it was 2 times replaced by amazon. Five weeks ago, i had to send my phone to the repairservice. I had to wait three weeks! When i geot my phone back, i've noticed, that the battery didn't charge. I've sent the battery to the repair service. Yesterday i received my baattery back and the battery doesn't work! I'm really dissapointed of the service of huawei. I know, this question could be stupid but can i require compensation?

Nothing compared to what I've experienced. I sent my Ideos x5 for repair in november, and I got it 7 weeks later back, nothing changed except for an 'software upgrade' (It was actually a downgrade). In February I sent it back again for repair and this week, 8 weeks later, I got it back and repaired. (Finally)
Btw, I don't think this has anything to do with huawei itself. You probably sent it back to the store you bought it? They just use third-party repair-company's to deal with these problems. I'm pretty sure huawei has nothing to do with it.
I live in Belgium btw.
But when i send it to amazon, they will also send the phone to the repair service

Hi.
So the approved service center recommended by Google will charge me $250 Canadian $ to replace the cracked screen on 6p. They said every thing will be OEM and no marks or anything after repair while opening the device.
Would you guys do it?worth it? Or go with third party shops and after market screens for $100 less.?
Thanks

@judeh I'm from India and gave my 6P for a screen replacement at a Huawei Service Center y'day. Got a call this morning that it is ready to be picked up. Will go there after work and will let you know how it went.
We have very few options here to get it done from a local repair shop in India. Although they are skilled and everything, it's safer to get it done from a Huawei Service Center.

Thanks. I went the same way you did. I hope that sending it to their approved center is worth it.
UPDATE:
So got my phone y'day and all working fine & dandy so far.
These threads are normally full of rants about how poor repairs and customer services are. On this occasion Honor/Huawei need to be commended.
A couple of weeks ago I dropped my Honor 8. Other than a couple of dents near to the headphone jack all seems ok, until last week when the screen started playing up with lines and contrast issues.
I dreaded having to send it away after my experience with other manufactures like Samsung and HTC who are a nightmare to deal with IMO. Anyway, I shipped to my phone to Honor for assessment and repair on Tuesday this week. It was received on Wednesday, fixed and despatched on Thursday and back in my hand now. Not only with a replacement screen, but they replaced the entire housing so I no longer have a dent!
You can see now why I wanted to post this. The Honor 8 should not be called a budget phone. It has a premium build, a premium experience and unlike the big boys.. a premium repair service.
Well done Huawei/Honor! Keep this level of service going and you will soon clean up!
My next phone will be Honor 9 :good:
Good to hear and well done Honor for a speedy service, just don't drop it again
I remembered that time where someone with a flagship Samsung had it exploded. He complained it to Samsung but they didn't notice him. So HTC came to the rescue and gave him a free flagship phone.

Is this offer also available for Huawei Mate 9 Pro owners? Since I have one right now.

Yes...naturally :good:
has anyone taken advantage of this? The GG3 on this phone is rubbish and I have several marks on it.
gotta say this process to replace the screen is rubbish. Huawei said 'go back to Harrods' and Harrods have no idea!
UPDATE - Huawei are saying there is NO extended warranty (as the PD does not benefit from VIP membership) and what the app says is incorrect (about the screen replacement).
If they don't honour this, I'll not be very happy as the screen protection is very poor.
I've already gone back to Harrods and waiting for an update.

Is that with the screen protector which was factory installed?
Mine is getting marks but I've ordered a tempered glass one so hopefully I can get rid of it soon
I've tried a tempered glass but it was such a poor fit due to curves I gave up.
After having the note 7 which I went naked on, I didn't use a protector on this but didn't realise it was only using Gorilla Glass 3 which isn't that great compared to the GG5 on the note 7.
If Huawei won't honour their own warranty, I'll never buy another. So far their customer service has been frankly appalling as last week they confirmed it would be replaced under warranty. So subsequently I bought another phone to keep me going whilst it was in for repairs.
UPDATE from Huawei:
The Mate 9 Porsche Design does NOT benefit from the 3 year warranty or the 3 month screen protection, whereas the Mate 9 does.
So you pay more and get less!
Even though HiCare clearly says I have this included. Goodbye Huawei.
I've also raised this with Trading Standards. Will keep you posted but as Porsche Design customers it looks like we've been mugged.
Thanks for the heads up.
If that is the case then this will be going right back as it was one of the perks I opted for.

My thoughts also. I seriously can't believe Huawei have created a device with a 2x price tag over the mate 9 yet they won't include the same warranty.
I'm hoping trading standards and Harrods come up with something.
Otherwise I'm in 2 minds to hang onto it knowing it'll look rough in a few more months time and be worth nothing, or sell it now whilst it only has a couple of minor marks on the screen and try to recover maybe £900 for it. Going by new prices hitting the £2000 mark, I should get around that mark.
What has annoyed me more than anything is that when I chatted with Huawei just last week (and a couple of weeks before) they confirmed this screen warranty is included and I therefore bought a Oneplus3t as a temporary phone whilst this one was being repaired. Unfortunately I didn't email the conversation to myself - note for next time!). To ensure I haven't ended up speaking to someone who is mistaken I've emailed them, chatted and FB them. All the same answer all of a sudden.
This is totally unacceptable. I will never trust Huawei again.

I can see that, but most of the reviewers and phone companies here states gorilla glass 4. I understand the confusion. I don't know what is right then

Would think Corning would know exactly what was sold to Huawei for the devices... it is a bit of a shame.. according to the Corning site GG3 was used on Mate 9 / 9 Pro / 9 PD and then GG5 was used on the P10's... why wouldnt they have ordered GG4 or GG5 for the Mate 9s is beyond me... surely it wouldnt have been that much more for GG5 over GG3 ?? tho I dont know the costs..
Hey, I bought my 6P from dwidigitalcameras.com and it was all fine until I got the bootloop problem that some people have gotten. Luckily for me, I had about 2 weeks of warranty left. I contacted them and they approved the RMA so I sent it off at the end of September. They verify that it's rekt and send it off to Google to be repaired.
Now I've been told that there's no estimated date that it'll be fixed by (which I assume to mean that they ran out of time to send the phone off to Google) and they're offering me a refurb'd HTC 10 EVO 32GB as a replacement. They estimated 4-6 weeks for the repair (it's been over 6 weeks now).
The thing is that I reaaaalllly liked my 6P and while it's being fixed I'm using my old Nexus 5 so I'm not without a phone. The screen, front facing speakers, placement of the fingerprint reader and overall look of the 6P are what's making me want to wait for it to be fixed/replaced rather than take the 10 EVO. I don't want to have to go out and buy another case for the new phone that I'm not that excited about owning and I'm also not super keen on taking a refurb as a replacement.
What do you think I should do? They're pushing me toward the HTC and I've already said no but they've asked me to take it again. Is there anything I can do if they say they can't fix it (I live in Australia but I don't know much about the consumer law)?
TL;DR: Bootloop > Approved RMA > They repeatedly offered me another refurb as replacement. What do?
My 6P got the battery problems while still under warranty (In the Netherlands we have 2 years warranty). I RMA'ed the phone and was told they would fix it. After a couple of weeks they contacted me, saying the replacement parts would take a month to arrive and offered me a replacement Mate 9, or to wait longer. I then replied back that I needed a phone now, but that the Mate 9 didn't feature what I initially bought the 6P for and that I would never want a Huawei device again. Then they offered me to return the money I had paid for the 6P 2 years ago. So I accepted that and now I have bought a new Pixel 2.

Have you bought it through third party?
I have the same situation like you and I can RMA through my dealer or huawei.
Who refunded you?
I've got a PIXEL (1) so I have enough time to wait and fight for a refund [emoji12]

My phone suffered a bootloop and after a month, Huawei advised me they no longer supply the parts for the Nexus 6P and I too was offered the Mate 9 as a replacement. I took them up on the offer as it was a brand new phone and I needed a replacement.
It's a very good phone to be fair.

I've sent in my phone to HUAWEI (repair service ESS ESC in GERMANY) on 16.11.2017.
Status is "waiting for spare parts" and I don't think they will receive parts in a reasonable time.
Today I claimed the repair time and asked for a new or other device.
Maybe they will offer a replacement and I think it will be a MATE, but I don't know if 9 or 10.

I've had my mate 9 a couple of months now and think it's definitely a worthy upgrade. The supercharge function really works well for fast charging. The phone itself has an awesome battery even for me, a heavy user.

I've got a MATE 9 as exchange.
However, I'm not sure what to do.
The camera is not so sharp, I liked tha 6P more.

Check the settings and play around with the camera. I find it takes some beautiful shots. If you're still not happy I guess you could always sell it.
Oh, I was able to register mine for the extra year's guarantee and three months free screen replacement cover through the Huawei HiCare app.

Unfortunately, I doubt they will ever receive the parts to repair your 6P, considering people's reports here and on reddit. You should try to get a refund if you're not willing to take the HTC...
I sent my 6P to the new Huawei Customer Service in Paris on October 27th after an approved repairer failed to change my battery and damaged both the screen and the motherboard. My phone stayed there for 1 month and a half but they never received the motherboard to repair my 6P. There was a shortage of Mate 9 so I got a P10 Plus instead.
@licha26
Yes, you are right, there are no spares so Huawei sends out replacements (communication infront =0)
The Mate 9 ist nice but without custom roms and HDR+
The P10+ was send out also in Germany for a while, but I got a Mate
P10+ would have been better because new, in closed box and with higher resale value.
I think I will contact my dealer what to do, maybe they will offer a special for a Pixel 2.

I miss my 6P camera too because pictures were great without needing to tweak anything. But it's great to have portrait and wide aperture modes.
About custom roms, well... we have the chance to have Oreo updates with Treble implementation so there might be some action in the coming months...
Just sold my MATE 9 on eBay for 350 euros.
Fine for me now.
I will finally switch from NEXUS 5 to PIXEL 1 this weekend.

The service from Huawei is really ****ty. I had my phone under warranty, but the battery had already hung up, and on top with that I dropped the phone on one instance, and broke the display. Now they are claiming that the phone is out of warranty as the display is broken!! On top of that, they sent the phone back saying they are not getting parts from Huawei anymore to replace the damaged display!!!!
