Well, I guess I learned my lesson $375 later lol. Hopefully I can at least get some of my money back for the phone on Ebay. I asked around on several different sites and got a lot of mixed reviews on whether the MT7-L09 worked in the USA and heard pretty good things for the most part but no definite answer. So I just compared the bandwidths best I could and went for it - bad idea.
Not compatible with Cricket (will show 4G but service bounces in and out and can't download anything unless connected to WiFi).
Not compatible with Straight Talk - haven't actually tried it but asked their customer service and they said the IMEI number is not compatible.
Soooo just wanted to put this out there for anyone else who might be trying to figure it out. Learn from my mistake!

You could have googled for the devices`s supported LTE bands mate if it was for use in the US.
What did they mean with: the imei number s not compatible?

I did. It says the bands so I knew them. The bands the phone uses are:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 TD-LTE 2300 (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28)
the problem was there was some debate on the bands Cricket uses. Cricket is awesome but their Online Customer Service is very touch and go - talk to 3 different people and you'll get 3 different answers.
I've been trying to figure out the APN settings all day (with the help of a couple chat representatives) and it just doesn't seem like it's going to work. It shows 4G connection on the phone but it's just not working. Not to mention when you type in the IMEI number on the their site it says "incompatible." It doesn't say why it's incompatible, just that it is.
I'm going to an AT&T store tonight though and if I can get LTE through them I might switch to their prepaid plan and keep the phone. I don't know why it'd make a difference since they own Cricket but they claim it will. I'll lose a lot of data (10gb with Cricket vs 4gb with AT&T) but I never use even close to 10 anyways and it really would be nice to have service with someone who has physical stores around here.
Straight talk just said "sorry, phones not compatible."
Overall it was still my own fault lol, I just wanted to put it out there that way if anyone else googles it they might find it easier than I did.

I use WiFi at home, yes. But I also like to use my phone out on the road and at work (no WiFi) to listen to audio books, YouTube, Pandora, etc so being able to stream things is pretty important to me.
Also, I'm not getting 3G either. It's just not working. I would be fine with 3G or HSPA+ but the problem is it's not loading at all and it's all glitchy.
I had the Mate 2 also so I definitely hear you on the battery! Hopefully the battery on this one will be just as good as my Mate 2 was

No we have 3G & 4G LTE in my area regularly, just for some reason this phone isn't getting either on Cricket's network - some kind of compatibility issue.
I figured the battery wouldn't be as good as the Mate 2 - the battery on that thing was phenomenal! I accidentally broke the screen and it was starting to act up all the time so I decided to get the new one.

Unfortunately in my area the only 3 prepaid GSM plans are Straight Talk, Cricket, and At&t's prepaid GoPhone plan. We don't have T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Metro PCS or any of those things. Well, I should say I've heard of them and some areas have them but the area I live in they don't offer service.

What??? No way! I live an hour south of SF and it's totally not working on Cricket. I asked straight talk and they said the phone isn't even compatible with their service (granted their customer service sucks so maybe I should have just tried it lol). You get 4Glte all the time?
Anyways. I adjusted the settings now and I've been getting HSPA+ at home now fairly steadily so I think I'm going to keep it for now and give it a shot. The only issues I'm having is loading videos on youtube and my play store is having issues with the APN settings - it gets stuck on installing.
It goes between H+ and 4g. To fix the apn issue just download straight talks data app from the playstore. It will give you the exact apn settings for your phone.

See if it would consistently stay on HSPA or whatever it would be fine. But the problem is that I bounce all around between HSPA to 4G then to 3G and then no service sometimes and the last thing I want is to be stranded on my way home from work in the snow with a phone that decided to go into no service mode and won't let me call anyone.
When it stays in the H+ it's fine (full bars) but when I bounce into 3g or 4g I'll have 1 bar or sometimes not any.
I bought a Nexus 6P from a private party. I installed my Project Fi SIM and although I could connect to Sprint (although that is weak in my area), I am not able to connect to T-Mobile broadband. I can make and receive phone calls, but I cannot connect to the web or tether. Is there anything that I can do to get the T-Mobile broadband to work? I have had several SIM cards to sent to me and I even went so far as to have my phone repaired and still no change.

As for what they did to the phone? The world may never know!!! The only thing I know that they did was remove my tempered glass protector and placed one of those crap temp screen protector. There was no note, emoji or nothing!
How long ago has it been that you put the sim in? Mines took a few days to properly register to both networks before switching smoothly

This is the second SIM that I have installed, and it has been nearly 2 weeks. The voice side works just fine, but the broadband is no go. I am able to connect using SPRINT, but the area from SPRINT is very bad out here in Little Rock. especially when drive away from Little Rock to more desolate area. I am again looking that is issue with using 7.0 since I was not have issues with 6.1.
Don't get me wrong, I love this phone despite the bugs. Software bugs.
However I've a serious issue regarding the 3G/LTE module. 3G/LTE performances are not consistent at all.
Sometimes it goes well (chatting, sending pictures, even testing the speed with a speed test) but other times the connection "hangs" and I'm not able to do anything for seconds or minutes (download pictures from whatsapp, sending text with telegram or open web pages). After that time, the connection seems to work again. When this Is happening, phone is at full signal.
Please note that I never had these issues with all my previous phones (Nexux 5, Nexus 5X, OnePlus 3T) with the same SIM card and under the same conditions (places, time of the day). I've performed all the updates available (software version 4.5.4) and cleaned the cache many times using the recovery.
I'm asking your help: is there some debug feature I can activate in order to see what is happening and understand the problem? Many thanks.

Basically you'd call in and ask to register your phone. It's not actually necessary but they do this anyway when you ask for a replacement sim. All they do is get your IMEI off your phone and add it to your account. Though with the 3 it already showed up during use. I don't think it matters much at all. Haven't had an issue with the 5 in Wisconsin, Minnesota or Nevada. I've simply plugged in the sim to this phone and went on my way since day 1.

Just to give you the big picture, I'll include everything that happened when I got my OP5 in terms of registering the phone on AT&T's network...
I got the OP5 and I came from a OPO, so I needed a new nano SIM card. I went to AT&T and they gave me a new sim but they were not able to get LTE signal at all. I was impatient and really didn't want to wait around so the rep and myself came up with excuses on why it wasn't working so I could get out of there. HSPA+ was the best I could get and it was about ~5Mbps up/down and I was happy with that for now.
I got home and decided to call in. Usual phone tree hell with AT&T began but I eventually got a level 2 Android technician. I will note the default values within the phone tree took me to iPhone support. Anyhow, the level two technician verified that my phone was not getting LTE. Furthermore, the device was not registered in the system at all. He gave me two options (which from the sounds of things, he wasn't supposed to do) 1.) I could just deal with the HSPA+ connection and it could take up to 5 days to fully load the phone but my phone would work perfect in terms of service/coverage/data rates (HSPA+) or 2.) He could load a Samsung S7 mock profile to my phone and it would more than likely work fine but don't hold him accountable for it. He said if it were him, he'd go for the S7 mock profile so I went with it.
Immediately I got an LTE signal and he had me reboot my phone. I've zero issues as he figured would happen and everything has been perfect. I got a confirmation text message from AT&T saying my phone will be loaded by July 6th and originally the technician told me around July 14th.
Anyhow, that was just my experience and a good experience at that. Of course, popping a sim out and back into a new phone would be ideal but a non-contracted AT&T device has to get loaded at some point and time I guess, right?
Cheers!

It wasn't until the AT&T tech adding the profile to the network that it works. It was instant too.

So i have not had a chance to check download speeds, so far so good but no actual numbers yet. I cannot receive sms messages. Phone calls, LTE and sending texts is ok, spent the last 2 hours with a tech, they are unaware of the new phone so they are not much help. Came from a Pixel 2 XL pulled sim and switched, and boom issues....

I'd call again and specifically request a ""CDMA-less" option for your SIM card/line. I get mine tomorrow and if I'm unable to receive SMS then that's what I'll have to do.

I've read that as well... If you get into the options you just need to select LTE only under network type and texting should work.
I'm doing some download test now with my pixel 3 for comparison.
It's such a weird that that the phone is approved on Verizon yet, cannot receive SMS.

It is a shared data plan for my company. The problem is CDMA_LESS provisioning. It seems some 6T IMEI numbers are not in the Verizon system which is probably the biggest problem.
Everything works except receiving sms. Sim came from Pixel 3 XL.
Have rebooted, factory reset, cleared app cache as well as cache in recovery. Sim works fine back in Pixel 3. Chat was no help.
We already have a thread with same topic: Feeling about the 6t on Verizon?
Please continue your discussion there. Thanks.

He said their tech has a fix for it but it may not be effective. He said Samsung needs to release an update to fix it.

I used to believe in this statement.. But when I walk around with a phone from Verizon (business), Srint (Personal) and AT&T hotspot service, I realized this is very not true.
There are locations where each carrier is stronger than others. At one of my job site, Verizon and AT&T fail to connect at all constant roaming and drop calls while Sprint skips along like no body cares.
Point, additionally, as each carrier acquire and deploy new bands, they need to be built out so the newer devices that support the bands can utlize it relieving the crowded older bands.
HOWEVER, this stupid phone, with SignalCheck Pro installed, I can see the bands I'm on but the signal stregnth is horrible, like at the moment, i'm connected to band 41 but LTE is at -117dBm, that's almost like not having signal at all. Likewise when I'm connected to band 25 and 26.
I tried disabling all those bands and force it onto the lower frequency with hardly any success.

and yes the program can be uninstalled, but it was only installed because I need to troubleshoot this issue, so it's not the program that's causing the problem. It's just telling me what band I'm on and the signal.

Anyone else on Sprint with the S10?
Note 8, and S8+ works fine. My S10+ is getting 1x and when I'm on the road, it would come in and out all day long. Without WiFi the phone is almost useless.

It's not just you. There are multiple threads on Sprint's forums with users complaining. My phone constantly roams, the WiFi calling keeps timing out on location and though it says LTE most of the time data doesn't work. Lucky for me I keep a spare phone so I'll be switching back to my iPhone X until they resolve this but there's been no official word on any of this getting resolved so I'm not expecting a solution any time soon. I'm wondering if it was the update I installed that caused this because it seemed like day 1 the phone was ok. Maybe a solution is to use Odin and flash back to the original stock.

They had me reset network settings which I did and it didn't help. They're sending me a replacement phone... Once I get it I'll prevent the Samsung update and see if that helps. Idk I really wanted to like this phone.

Sadly this is a known issue:

I have the sprint version purchased from S
Spent an hour with samsung to no resolution. Took my verizon sim and dropped it on the S10 and the phone was getting good signal and speed then dropped for a couple minutes then back to good speeds. But as it's doing this, the phone started to get very warm. Sprint tech support doesn't know crap, just make me repeat their written process multiple times and the guys at the sprint stores are just salesman.
Since the verizon seems shows intermitten connections as well, i'm going to see if samsung can send me a replacement.
