Hello!
I am wondering if there is a way to let big cores go offline?
I tried Kernel Auditor,EX Kernel applications, there is an option to switch "minimum big cores online" option to zero, so it turns off big cores and uses them when needed, but after some seconds device just turns on all to stock, so 1 big core is always online. Maybe someone has managed to make so, that big cores are offline, and goes on when needed?
the stock kernel doesn't really turn off cores. try installing frankenkernel, it can actually turn off cores and is very battery efficient

I was trying that long time ago, but no success, after some time all settings just get back. But will try it to be sure, maybe kernel managing apps has some updates in this field.
You needed to check the CPU hotplug page of kernel adiutor and set the maximum cores online. This may not work on stock kernel though...

Thanks, for now it is working fine.
As I wanted:
4 LITTLE cores are always on;
0 BIG cores are always on - > they goes on when needed.

There are two current ICS Sense Kernel for DHD, as what I know.
BeastMode
Virtuous
I had comparison with few benchmark tools.
wifi on, mobile off, auto-sync, gps ..etc are off.
max freq selected most near to 1.5GHz (1.498 or 1.517GHz). governor performance(always Max freq). none altered.
omittted first result. these are 2nd and 3rd. also scores could vary with configurations, apps, receptions etc. this is just n00b's comparison.
While benchmarking, No FC or error found except Linpack for Android.
(found Inaccurate Result in both 3 of them not always.. wish It had no advertisement while "Testing.." ad could poison this.)
Stability and Battery Life is not in my concern.
needed to save battery from wear is highly expected.. its 2yrs old now..

Beast Mode Kernel links are dead mate. any chance of re linking please.
Because those are posted on Sabsa Prime thread, and it was invisible for a while. Now links are back!.

hey guys, is there any kernel available for kk bootloader?? ive already downgraded to jbbl just for arrrghhs kernel
it has undervolting capabilities with lowest possible freq, which saves alot of battery, but things are not as smooth as on kkbootloaders. :/

BlissStalk has kernel medications that may do what you'd like. Here's a screencap of the CPU screen. There's tons of settings other than this.

ive already used it, are you on kitkat bootloader or jbbl?? from urs i can assume that u r limited to 384mhz freq that would eat ur battery fast without allowing to undervolt as well .. check mine
baiggee2, THAT'S crazy - nearly 1.9 GHz clock! What kernel or OS are you using? And how warm is it while at highest stable frequency (1.7 GHz or so without crashing)?
What kernel are you usin ? At this frequency your phone is gonna explode .....

Found latest version of arrrghhh's kernel (it works with JBBL), the highest frequency accessible on my phone is face-melting 2 GHz.... I chose 200 MHz - 1 GHz for battery runtime reasons.
EDITED: do you mind if you share the undervolting tables? I felt that I should drop the voltage down a bit.
any body tested this kernel ? ( It's only working on Exynos variant like S/L/K with Lollipop Rom )

Really interesting clocks available in that kernel. I hope it can come to N910C as well.
Did you try it?

no , i'm looking for kernel developer.
It would be much appreciated if you could provide the source to build EXACT version release. This will be required to also be updated with each version release. Without this, no one cannot legally redistribute the binary (zImage individually or re-packed into boot.img) as you are breaking GPL and XDA rules. I thank you for your understanding on this, no one is exempt.
If you are unable to do this, I would advise to remove the links until that is possible. For more info, you can search development and GPL or contact the Moderation Team for advise.
Cheers
UITA
Thanks for the valuable information. Just as I almost gave up on finding a custom kernel for my beloved N910S haha. Flashed this last night right away, gonna let it settle for 2-3 cycles. Currently charging in dead position
First cycle;
the most noticeable one is the CPUs are far cooler than before using Lionheart, (usually kinda hot during light browsing)
Lower benchmark (Antutu) result using Lionheart on both A53 and A57,
Red error within Synapse app in the CPU section, both A53 and A57, showing (Seek error or something)
Other than those, it's still butterysmooth as usual
Hello, I am using an unlocked xt1625 amazon variant on the stock google 6.0.1 rom (installed over the amazon rom). I recently installed the elementalx kernel v0.07, and I am working on installilng the glassfish cpu governor. In the install instructions, it says to disable CPU Touchboost, and to change the CPU boost options. The exact instructions are here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68330029&postcount=4418
I have EX Kernel Manager installed, and I do not see either of these two options (I'll attach a screenshot). I did some searching around online and I found a reddit post of a user who had the same problem, but I don't think his solution would work for my case. Here's the thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/43cq7h/ex_kernel_manager_no_touchboost/
TWRP does not ask me to install root when I flash the supersu zip, which is the problem he had.
If you need any more information about my phone I'll send it.
Any ideas? I'm not sure where to go from here.
Thanks

Touchboost isn't available with this build of ElementalX. I had the exact same issue with my Nexus 5 on ElementalX- disabling touchboost is simply not an option.
Regardless, I may be wrong but I don't think I observed any frequency boosting upon touch events, at least on the "little" cluster, regardless.
And, the CPU of the 617 is sufficiently weak (unlike other big.LITTLE designs where A57 or A72 cores are waaaay more powerful than the puny A53s) to the point at which tweaking the governor isn't particularly necessary (I just use the most basic interactive tweaks described in some other thread here).
Hey,
so I did research for like 3 days but I can't find any solutions relating to my problem. My G6 ist running on v30b so its updated to the newest version. But at easiest tasks it is so laggy and stuttering. Playing games you can forget about, also apps like Snapchat are a disaster. I deleted or disabled all bloatware I could find.
So I tried this CPU "benchmark" and it seems like the CPU is kinda locked or limited at 1GHz. The performance is dropping to red but the CPU still stays at the excactly same level, why? (Screenshot) The max CPU clock also says 1,59 GHz there first. The G6 wasnt hot at all ans not charging.
I was irritated and like 10 minutes later I started a new test. Now the Max clock was correct and it also started at 2Ghz but after 1 minute it dropped all the way down to 1GHz and stays there at the same level. The performance is completely red. I really cant unterstand why this is happening, hoping some of you can help me.
Thank you so much in advance!

Second test
Virus/trojan - run bitdefender or kaspersky scan.
Some adware/bitmining program. Full backup, then full reset of phone to factory fresh.
Something broken with the hardware - eg the cooling pipe inside the phone.
