My vote for stock KK. The best balance between performance and battery, especially for 1GB model.

Stock Lp is a nightmare. Don't even think of moving to it. Apart from the various bugs it has, the battery performance is also poor. Stock KK is much much better.
Yes. I agree with sasukay. For 1 GB variant stock kk is best. I tried all other ROMs and always I return back to stock kk.
Try CandySix with Semar Kernal V5
Very Good Battery Backup With Everything Working Perfect
And The Main Thing is it have very good camera quality compare to other custom rom

I would still suggest 'cm11 rom by ed300' and then flash 'mostock kernel' or 'phantom 2.0 kernel' search threads ..
everything is wrking just fine for 1Gb set

Has the low sound in calls bug fixed?
---------- Post added at 05:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 PM ----------
Which is the best ROM( either stock or custom) when considering audio quality as the first priority?
Currently I am using cm11 by ed300. The audio quality noticeably reduced(ie some kind of noise when listening to musiq))
i installed cm11 . It seems like it is a mixture and feeling of lollipop with kitkat .
but seemed 2 me lyk its also lagging when i did not installed anything in it .
then i installed stock kitkat with rooted and it worked faster than ever with all apps installed ,,, but my main purpose was to change device id , ime i , mac id , wifi id , which i was not able to change in it
so again movved to cm12
I want a custom rom (Dual Sim)
-LED Notification
-Can disable sim 1 or sim 2
-Active Display
-Twice Camera
-Good Performance and batt life.
DUv10. 6 (M) rom have everything you want, am operating it right now and the best thing is they are developing DUv11 (N) and what I see there in DU community DUv11 is going to be one of beast rom ever.
So it's good for you to be familiar with DU.
Or
Resurrection Remix by vatsal what I learn about vatsal is he is one the beast developer here.
He believes in developing few rom with lot of features with good performance.
So go with it.
Or
Use stock rom + xposed + greenify
But in Stock you need to flash Kernal like squid or coffee Kernal for led notification.
( I never flash custom Kernal in Stock rom so I don't know whether it's good to flash custom Kernal in Stock rom or not)

CM13 official is one of the best roms... If you want battery life, you can install Greenify, Naptime, Xposed Framework, and DS battery saver... and activate all these in the xposed app... you will get the best from a rom...

You are right, cm13 is the most stable custom rom till now.
You can install xposed and its modules without troubles.
You can install moto g4 camera and enjoy its benefits.
You will not find problems with games or apps.
Use coffee-kernel to get much performance with less temperature.
OK. Thank you everybody.
Can CM13 disable and enable sim like stock ROM?
Now. I have a problem with stock camera.
It can take photo but can't change setting in camera (Quality , Save Location) .
When I change it camera app will not respond.

I just wanna ask which ROM has the better gaming performance?. I've already tried stock KK with Mostock(many people said this is the best ROM for gaming)but I still experienced some lag. Can you guys suggest which ROM I should use?
@iduuuuho, I would suggest the same combo. But, try the stock without MoStock. Also, you can give CM11 by sourav8434 a try, it had pretty good performance too. My last suggestion would be MIUI8 rom, even after high modification, the performance as well as battery is outstanding on this ROM. I've been using this since 7-8months now, and there hasn't been a problem with it. Not only the AnTuTu score for the device got bumped to 38k, but also the gaming performance has been improved significantly with this ROM. I myself played MC4 on this device which is a online multiplayer. And it used to run the best with MIuI8 only.

Maybe MIUI. Last time I used it it had about 5-6 hours SOT and afaik VoLTE should work as well.
But miui have many bugs.
Heyyo, I'd recommend doing something like OmniROM and then AKT Profile Project X.A.N.A battery. It will definitely put battery saving over performance. OmniROM also has confirmed working VoLTE.
Otherwise if you want a balance of battery and performance? SlimRoms latest update is good and uses bs kernel 3.6.2 with energy aware scheduling like the Google Pixel phones.
Actually SlimRoms with Greenify and root enabled is really good for battery with my latest tests heh 43% battery left and over 3 hours of SoT

Edit - slim rom officially don't support lemax 2. No future updates.
I am using OmniROM 7.1.2 now and I can get around 5~6 hours SOT for normal use. The performance is also good.

Heyyo, eh official doesn't really mean much tbh other than some ROMs get their builds directly from a sanctioned build server is pretty much it.
The only ROM where the difference would be significant is OmniROM since the signed builds are Google SafetyNet Certified.

If you meant Volte then yes, there is support for Volte in SlimOS.
Well, I'll ask it anyway .
I've only ever used Cyanogenmod and Lineage, but now there is no stable and good release for J5 (2016). Obviously, stock has so much bloat and is super slow, all I want is fast, functioning and pretty phone. Which is the ROM of choice for you and why?

Am pretty much 50/50 between TW and aosp.TW can easily be debloated mainly stock and just add quasar 1.6 fix and runs fast same as kernel that's in space os and I recommend that one too.Am currently on Havoc which is great looking and saves you a good 1.5gb TWRP backup so yes the aosp are already debloated. All the oreo roms are fast in my opinion.Havoc is my favourite followed by RR 6.0.1 and the older lineage builds are great too.

Not as smooth as aosp ROMs tho. TW is a really heavy skin over android and is known to be slow and stuttery even on the best of devices.
But yes you are right it is the smoothest of the TW ROMs due to the heavy debloat. Especially the SEP 8.5 LITE.
For me though I stick with aosp ROMs because they are a lot faster, a lot more customisable and also better on battery life.
But everyone has different tastes and what suits me and you might not suit someone else.
All ROMs are amazing and we need to give more thanks and donations to the devs

No battery problems for me with Havoc. It can be a bit slow to charge sometimes but not big battery drain.Yes I think bluetooth audio might be problem on some aosp roms if you use bluetooth but I use wired headset and bluetooth works fine in all aosp roms I have tried for file transfers and connecting to externel devices like gamepad which I use.
