Xtrons D714A, screen doesn't working (software issue).

Hello guys!
I have Xtrons D714A with original ROM (4.4.4) and recently I installed Car Launcher on it. The next day when I powered up the unit again it showed a screen that I have to choose the default launcher for the unit. Anyway the problem is that the touch screen stopped working and I cannot choose anything. The strange thing is that the notification bar is working, I can even dial up the settings bar and enter in the menus, but once I enter there the touch screen does not work as well (it only works in the notification bar).
I tried to reset it trough the reset button but it only resets the settings, I need hard resset to erase Car Launcher. I also tried to turn on the unit while holding all kind of combinations of the hardware buttons but nothing happened - I think that the "power" button is not actually power button because when the unit was working the only thing it did is to get the unit in sleeping mode when I hold it.
I contacted Xtrons but no answer from them by now. Also I saw that I am not the first one with this problem :

Is there some script that I can upload on SD card and do a hard reset if I power up the unit with it? Or upload new ROM and install it from SD card by the same method, and if yes, can someone provide me ROM file?

@strballer try emailing Xtrons at: [email protected]. They usually reply within a day or two. They should send you a link with a firmware download as they did for my D717AL.

Thanks for your answer! I already contacted them and they suggested to turn off the main power for 15 minutes but as expected this done nothing but just reset the settings of the unit, not hard reset. Anyway I just managed to fix the problem. I connected USB keyboard and I was able then to dial the default home launcher. After that the touch screen was working again. Very strange bug...

They told me there´s no firmware available. Did you mange to have Android 6 on your xtrons D717AL? Since it is sold with this now as far as I read somewhere. I stuck on 5.0

Lemfo lem7 screen locked and factory reset

I bought a Lemfo lem7 smartwatch yday through aliexpress. During settings I switched the screen lock option and now cant unlock the screen doing whatsoever. I have rebooted by pressing the power button to no avail. Can anyone help? How can i do a factory reset as this watch has a single button?

I got mine ordered at Banggood 2 days ago, and tested it's feature's without SIM card so far. Last test was company email configuration using exchange account setup. All worked out fine except the required pin-code unlock to start Andoid (after reboot watch).
After a while i got annoid to use the pincode input, and liked to get rid of the exchange account so i deleted this account in my LEM7.
But next reboot, i still got this pin code input screen but without onscreen keyboard !!
So the same question as topic starter, how to restore - do a factory reset with only one physical button ?
Or using the supplied smartwatch-dock with USB connection at Windows computer.
What procedure ? Software ? How to obtain factory ROM not having any backup ?
Next i will send Banggood.com service request.

I guess you have to hold the power button in booting process. So long pressing power button for 10 second to reset watch and then during booting again long pressing power button. I guess then you will see new boot menu where will be HARD RESET option. This process is more or less same for all Android devices

And how would this fix a device what does not start Andriod before entering 4 numbers at the same device what does not shows a keyboard to enter these numbers ?
No, neither a solution.
Meanwhile i've returned my LEM7 to supplier Banggood, got my money including shipping costs refund. And have bought a THOR4 smartwatch instead. But i would not try to enable the security setting to input a pincode anymore neither at my current THOR4 device.
Another thing, experience of the passed weeks having a 'cheap' smartwatch with all it's features including 4G , most apps running on a small and round display and very tiny onscreen keyboard are hard to use. Or not even to install when required to tap at YES / NO the yes or no is not visible on the screen neither full round or squared display setting.
Using a 2 (micro) sim card of my provider, can only use one device (watch or smartphone) at the same time. Have to set one in airplane mode to use the other as a phone .
And have you ever entered a password at onscreen keyboard on 1.34" round display ? not easy done for shure i can say !
Do consider the smartwath as a nice gadget, practically spoken prefer to use smartphone or larger display sizes .

Finally succeeded. Couldn't do it from my pc but the Lemfo still had bluetooth on. I paired it with my smartphone, connected and I was able to erase all. Now the tedious reinstalling except the suspect app, whuich had been ok until the latest update. You had the right solution, thanks

Need Recovery mode Avin Avant 4 Android 9.0 PX6 unit

Hi there,
After doing an upgrade my unit it stuck with a black screen and need to get into recovery mode in order to reload a working firmware.
Anyone any idea how to get there?
Tried the reset button for some time with and without home or on/off button and also removed the power source and pressed reset while putting power back but nothing seems to work
So i'm stuck for now :crying:

Did you ever get your unit fixed? Did you try restarting with a USB plugged in with the firmware file on it?

No sorry... never got it working again. Had to send it back for a replacement unit.

I've been doing a lot of back and forth with their support on another issue and I've updated my MCU and software so many times now I thought maybe I'd be able to give you a hand.
Do you use any navigation apps on your Avant4? When I use ones that have voice navigation, the voice is getting truncated at the start and end of the directions. Some apps more than others and it seems to be related to those apps that use TTS (Text to Speech).

I'm using Waze via Android Auto. So i'm not having this problem.

So it runs from your phone and just displays on the Avant4? I have Waze running on the unit directly and it gets truncated.

I have al running on my phone and use a Android Auto box.
U can buy it from Avin USA. See website for all options on your Avant4.

If you hold the volume knob until it starts blinking then let go and hold it down again it will boot the unit into recovery mode.

My Px5 just locked up

Hey all,
So i have this android 8 Secaine head unit in my truck. Yesterday it booted and failed. It shows try again and factory reset as options. But none of the touch buttons will move the selection. I plugged in a mouse and can scroll up and down but it will not activate either selection. It was working fine the other day. When i press the reset button it will reboot show the navigation software logo then go to the screen i have attached a photo of in this thread.
Any Ideas ? Is this a hardware failure ? Can i use a jump drive to re-flash the mcu ?

It is written in the yellow colored part how to switch and choose.

Yes i saw that but nothing you touch on the head unit will move the selection or allow you to enable it. The touch function on the radio is gone. I can how ever move up and down the 2 options by plugging in my mouse, but clicking on one of the options does nothing.

If you don´t have physical buttons, take some USB-keyboard and use the arrow keys and the enter key.

Going to try that this weekend and cross my fingers. I have a few MCU's that are specific to this model i can try to flash if i can get it to factory reset. Just hoping the hard drive hasnt failed or the Rom is ok. It has been hot here this week.

Just get it out of the car and on your desk, connected to a 12V power supply.
That is nothing which should be done in the car, at least not if it is hot or stone cold.

please help, android head unit stuck on android logo

Hi, i just got the car a few days ago and it had an android unit installed.
It was all working fine but since yesterday it got stuck on the android logo.
I tried the reset button, press once, hold 3 sec,5sec,10sec. Nothing.
I have no info about the head unit at all. Can anyone help me identify it and possibly fix it ?

As i said, i bought the car a few days ago with the radio installed. So i don't know what model it is or who is the manufacturer...

Try to press the power button until the buttons flash. Release the power button short and press it again. Maybe it needs some timing tests for the second button press.
Edit: and please show me a picture from the back side.

Okay, so this is one of the unknown units from some unknown seller.
You need to get into the system.
Try to reset it as I wrote and then you need to go to Settings --> About tablet (or similar) and post a picture of the MCU and firmware.

I can't get to the system, it just boots up and gets stuck at the android logo. Tried reset but doesn't work, only thing that is different is when holding power button, tap reset and press power button again it says update start and right away update end.

No response, they just light up when the unit is on and only shine red.

In this case I am not able to help.
As long as we don´t get more details of the system used on this unit, it could be everything and each system is different in getting back to life.

Send it back, warranty claim. Cant complain about return freight, as its a unfortunate situation in that we get what we pay for.
At least you now get a chance to read the forums and find out what is worth buying.
