Good Lock? Can it customize status bar my way? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I'm new to good lock. I downloaded it from the Galaxy app store. Its a nice little customization program, but I'd like to add date and day to the status bar (like 3minit clock does) is that possible?

Nope, not with Good Lock. You'd need to root the device to perform those modifications.

I figured that. Thanks

There are 2 roms, seems like rooting just isn't worth it on the S7E

[Q] Change the status bar icons

Im REALLY annoyed by that ugly ATT 4g icon, the inconsistent sizes, the information overload that fills the top of the screen basically. I just moved to android with this S4, previously I was a happy iPhone user. Is there any simple way to replace/theme the status bar icons? and for the love of god can I just turn them off without having to disable the services?
Im rooted, running Nova, I've tried obsidian menus bar, doesnt work and clearly would be a bandaid anyway.
Id rather not go trolling around in the systemui.apk, but if thats the only way and its safe to OTA afterwards then Ill do that. I just really hate the design of the status bar.

I'm like you. I very much prefer as minimalist a status bar as possible, so I made icons so my status bar looks like this with everything enabled:
Obviously, I never have all those icons active. Usually just the battery, signal, wifi, and alarm are active, but I enabled them all so you have an idea of what they look like. I posted all the icons in this thread if you'd like to use them:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275858
Also, there's a mini tutorial about how to cluster the signal strength and signal type/in-out icons, because I think it's an absurd waste of space to use TWO icon spaces just to basically show you have cell phone signal and how strong it is.
Basically, I understand your pain. The clutter that comes with the stock status bar is absurd.

Battery percentage on status bar

How do I get the percentage to show on the status bar? Only the battery icon is there.

You can use an app like this if you don't want to ROOT: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent
Or this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.edavid93.kitkat_battery_percentage
I think the 2nd one is the one I used with this phone up until this week (when I rooted). You don't need to root your phone with either of these, but you may need to restart it (even if it says you don't).

I'm using the first link. I like it. I've read that once you installed it, you can uninstall it and it will still be there.
I use Gsam Battery Monitor. Creates a battery icon in status bar that is easy to read. Also gives you phone temp.

If you pull down the notification area and tap on the status bar to bring up the quick setting menu you can see the percentage. That's good enough for me
I am a big fan of Settings Extended. For battery percentage and other cool notification bar features.
No root required .

Thank you for all the suggestions. I like the root one the best. I am NOT going to root just yet however because I have not decided whether or not I am keeping the device

I'd you don't have root or want to I use an app called Battery Percentage Enabler in the app store. Works great and root not needed.

I have the Moto X pure edition and there's an option for this but I don't remember where. I've seen it and enabled it but now it's gone.

Drop down status bar. Hold the gear icon for about five seconds. Should swirl and enable system ui tuner under settings. In this menu you can enable battery percentage. No root needed.

Thanks. This worked but it's different then where I enabled it once. I wonder if I'm thinking I did this in 5.1.1 which my phone cane with. I've had the phone less then a month.
Where are the best available instructions located should I decide to root the Moto X pure edition?

Solved
Hi as per your question
Please pull down the notifications bar, now long press on the gear icon for a while.
System ui tuner will be enabled and added to settings.
Go to system ui tuner in settings.
Go to status bar.
There you can find battery and how you want it to be displayed.
Works in Android 6 and 7

Center Clock for Android Nougat S8

App for Center Clock for Android Nougat S8?
Awesome thread

I just use status app
I achieve this by flashing a custom Rom. I flashed BatMan Rom on my S8+ and love it. But Renovate Ice is another good Rom

I tried using Status app, but is there a way that it still can be transparent and immersive? I just want the center clock but still get immersive and transparency.

I would be possible for someone to just use my XML files to make an overlay APK that can be installed and done. I'm just a subs guys so that's the way I went with it.

Is there any way to not have the icons blurred on the lockscreen. I am using this mod instead of the other one from a different post that has no blur. I use a the Samsung sans font so the other mod would make me change the font completely. Good work though. Love it.!

yes the shortcuts and tons of new things and it DOES PERFORM FASTER, I ASSURE IT. new life. no way in hell am i even wasting time thinking of a note 9 or 10
currently downloading, 1330MB update
Definitely smoother and a new keyboard feature for Gifs..new logo designs make it look nicer, you can list apps in the background instead of just thumbnails, settings menus have been updated, it's kinda like an overall tweak to everything we already have.

Theme

Snapdragon user here.I found an app if you used substratum previously (as it doesnt work anymore)Called Good Lock in Galaxy App Store, you can theme your galaxy with it and it's not too bad actually.
What is your Guys Opinion on this ? I think Its great that Samsung is letting us do customization
i like the recent screen custom
Too bad it only themes the quick settings panel.

Part of the panel as a whole. Settings and other system apps are not themed.

I've had it since my Note 5 and it's really nice.
I have an issue though. When I make the notification tray transparent, and I pull it down, the zone of the notification bar is shown a little bit brighter. Do you guys know how to fix this?
Edit: Ignore the screenshot, it's cropped wrong
