Best Note 7 Rom 2017 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I was looking into the best Note 7 Rom but got confused by all the many roms. The previous posts about this topic are kind of outdated as far as I could find so here is a new one.
What do I consider the "best" rom? The rom that has most functions working with the least amount of bugs and work arounds needed. It may be (close to) stock rom or very customized.
What do you guys suggest? Thank you!
Edit: N910F (snapdragon)

exynos or snapdragon you must tell that first

Same question here, but for the N910W8. If piggy-backing isn't allowed I'll make my own thread, but both questions should have a similar answer. Thanks.

@Wicky91 @alkajak
All these Roms are Great and worthy of trying!! The Devs have put in a lot of time in these.
No one Rom is the best. Each person will vary in experience and opinion!!
I would give a few of them a try before you decide on a permament daily driver! Also be sure to give Thanks to the Devs, or even donate if you wish.
But with that being said, I wouldnt want to single out any one rom, so Im sending you a PM with my experience with them!!

One source for finding all the latest Galaxy Note custom ROMS

Alright everyone, Angelos from www.roms-db.com contacted me.
And i'm happy to let you know that after high demand, he's in the final
stages of adding Galaxy Note roms to his database of custom roms http://galaxynote.roms-db.com.
He would greatly appreciate it if everyone could check out his site and give some feedback if any information is wrong or missing. Also when there are any updates not mentioned (for example the android version (4.0.3
...))
The site for the Galaxy Note roms is http://galaxynote.roms-db.com
Thanks Angelos!
I would appreciate it if a moderator could make this a sticky since it's going to be a great help to the forum and the members/cooks!
Cheers!
excuse my curiosity, but what would be the benefits of that site compared to sammobile and dr ketan's thread?

If you check his site and see for yourself you'll understand. It's nothing like ketan's thread which only lists the official Samsung roms. I'm talking about custom roms updated daily. If you try searching for updated roms you'll find them in just a sec. It's easier for us it's easier for the cooks and it's a great way to find all the roms meant for your specification's (Touchwiz, CM9, MIUI, GB, ICS, JB, etc...) since his site is being updated daily and has the most complete package on all the roms available for HTC HD2, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation and HTC EVO 4G. Why not Galaxy Note? Anyway, he told me he might do it if more people would like this new feature, why would anyone say no?
Nice site and very well organized
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
very neat and easy to find and use...please guys head over there and see for yourself.
Everyone please press the contact me button and tell him if you are interested in a Galaxy Note page. http://www.roms-db.com/
Thanks Everyone

Samsung S7390

Hi All,
I'm Jack Droid and I'm a new member.
I have a Samsung Smartphone model S7390.
Surfing into the internet, I understood that there is not much development for this device...
Maybe because that device is not so appreciated but anyway, I have this model!
Moreover, I did the root and I found an CWM recovery that it's ok for it but what I have never found, is a custom rom.
My question is : do you know if exist a device that could be quite similar to Trend Lite S7390 so that I can use a rom for that and try to flash into my device ?
Many thanks for your attention and waiting for your kind reply.
All the best

you dont want to try a rom just because it is made for a "similar" phone. it is very likely to brick your phone.
the rom must say it is compatible or made for your phone, or you cant use it.
unfortunately, i can find no roms for your phone, as you already found out.

Hi bweN diorD,
thanks for your reply.
I suspected that was not possible to flash a rom for another device into mine but considering that development for my phone is not so much acitve, I was thinking that could be a solution but it seems that it's not a good idea!
I was thinking to S5280 but it has a dual core cpu if I remember well...
Anyway, I have to leave my phone just with CF root and CWM recovery and considering the actual situation, I'm happy in that way !
I will continue my hacking experience with my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition that has much more development.
I also have seen in this very good forum that a member is development a CyanogenMod for that tablet so thjat I'm following the evolution and when the rom will be rock stable, I will proceed to flash it.
I thank you again for your support and I wish you a very good evening!
See you into the forum and all the best!
EDIT
I'm following the development on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52978200
S7392 is the same phone of S7390, only S7392 has two slim but electronical components are the same.
Maybe this could be a good solution!
Well you can try fancylite rom

Help from experienced Developers!

Hello devs,
I have had a Micromax Canvas 2 Colors phone since a year and a half now. Custom/Themed ROMs were uncharted territory for me till June of this year, when my warranty was about to expire. I decided to use the VionicL ROM then. One heck of a ROM that was. Later, in the span of months, so many developments came in for the device, CM11, CM12/12.1, MIUI, and so on. I was very happy to see that there are so many people working hard on providing us the very best experience on our phone. But, like most of the average mobile phone users, I used to download the ROM, install it and enjoy, nothing more than that.
Now, as the time has come for me to switch to a new phone, I am switching to Lenovo K3 Note. I have had digitizer issues with my Canvas 2 Colors and the battery back-up was a little on the poorer side. So, I'm finally giving my phone away to one of my friends and moving on. Although, I would've loved to experience the final, stable build of CM12.1. Thanks to all the devs that worked hard on that. @Al3XKOoL : Especially you, man!
Now that I'm going to be using a new phone, starting from the 28th of October as per Flipkart, I looked up the phone on xda. Unfortunately, there is no forum for the phone. I was a little disappointed, but even C2C did not have a forum a few months ago. So, I tried looking for ROMs, and I have to say, I was a little disappointed with the progress in new and variety of ROMs. I agree that it is a fairly new phone, but there are a lot of people who own that phone, so I was expecting better results. And another point that many people like me would be searching for ROMs.
The help I request from all the developers here is to teach me to develop ROMs and Porting ROMs. I am absolutely inexperienced here, but I'm eager to learn. I'm 17 years old and I am studying 12th grade at the moment. I would still love to learn about ROM development and Porting so that I can provide the people with some ROMs like you all have. Although, I will not be helping out the C2C family, I can start to help the K3 Note family in any way I can. I hope some developers are interested in having an acquaintance.
Please consider this a sincere request and if anyone can please help me learn, I would be very, very grateful to you. I know that I can't learn it overnight, and that is why I want a proper guidance.
If anyone is interested to help me learn about the things mentioned above, please contact me through a message.
Thank you and sorry for annoying you lot with a long post!
And I will be indebted forever to all the developers in the C2C community for giving me and all the C2C owners a pleasurable experience. Thank You!
Sorry for tagging you people, but I hope you don't mind and you people are the most recognized devs in the C2C community :

first of all thanks for our words..im still using my WIKO RAINBOW as my second phone..ive moved on to VODAFONE SMART ULTRA 6 and im testing MIUI 7 LOLLIPOP with a ported rom already that is booting and running with TWRP ..although is very buggy its ALPHA version still, that is nice..
for developers/porters whatever is not easy to teach someone..we have our work to do and that kind of knowledge we have, it took us a few years and at least some dead phones, hard bricks and a few other bad things that could happen to our phone..so my advice to you:
read
search
talk with other users
now and then ask for help when you need it, some users know a lot
you need time and patient..be aware that many times things will not go as you expect or wish..best of luck and keep following us in my blog and youtube..RAINBOW / MMX A120 C2C still is a good phone.:good:

Hey, thanks for taking time out to read my post and replying.
Nice to hear that you've been working on a different phone and rolling out new ROMs for that phone too!
Yes, I know that everyone have their own work, family and personal stuff and everyone are developing in their free time or as a hobby. I will be doing the same too as I have my studies as a bigger priority.
I understand it is not easy to teach anyone about developing, at least guiding is possible, right? I would be glad if you could guide me in what to read and where to be careful etc. stuff like that.
I already bricked my K3 note once and revived it somehow. I know it will not be an easy road or it is just as easy as downloading a ROM and flashing it in recovery, most of the users can do that. I know it is hard work, I will try to read, but there is so much knowledge on XDA alone that it will take me forever to read, understand and be able to implement. So, what I am asking is, if you could let me know on where to begin and in which direction to go after that, I would be indebted to you.
Again, Thank you for taking some time out, I know you have loads of work, and I hope I can be as good a developer as you someday!

There is a Chinese developer who has rolled out CM12.1, but the English translations are not complete, so there are some chinese fonts still left behind, and there are some bugs in that too. I would not recommend using that ROM for daily use till the bugs are sorted out and the full English support is included.
With some support, I was planning on compiling CM12.1 for the K3 note. I've noticed that major developments for this phone is on some Spanish and Russian websites and not on XDA. I was a little sad to see that, but hopefully, there are a lot of developments on XDA too!
Cheers1

SM-S820L Lollipop Update?

Is there any way to get Android Lollipop on the Galaxy Core Prime SM-S820L? I have read about custom ROM's but I still don't know much about them and can't find any for this model. If anyone has found or created a way to flash a custom ROM onto this device, please let me know.

I also own this device, and unfortunately there is very limited support in the custom Rom department. If there was to be a lollipop Rom, someone would either have to port one somehow, or build it from source. Given the development rate for this device, I don't predict it happening anytime soon, sorry to say.
not going to happen
i have been trying since february the answer i got from my carier was samsung is contracted not to support this device thats why that is so hard to find samsung told me to take the device to bestbuy to force update if they could probably irrelavent but maby it helps
SM-S820L Got the Shaft!
Yup! This seems to be the future for the SM-S820L, or lack of future I should say.
I too have the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-S820L. I have spent lots of hours scouring the internet looking through every android related forum in hopes of eventually finding someone that is undertaking much needed programming to build a custom ROM for this CorePrime version.
If you are looking for a custom recovery to use. I can point you to my and others posts over at Needrom. The best I can offer is an unofficial TWRP release, but it DOES work! It does for myself at least and I am no Android Guru whatsoever.
I guess I am not allowed to post Links in any of my posts yet because I am still a NOOB on these forums. I'll PM you with some direction my friend!
I cannot take credit for coming up with any of that software. I simply rooted around long enough to compile a collection of tools and files that worked for me to modify the Recovery of my SM-S820L.
:good: Feel free to shoot me a Private Message on this site or to my personal Email....... [email protected]
I would love to help out as much as I can with modding your phone. Like I said, I'm not a proffesional but I have read up on the procedures used and been successful with my own Galaxy Core Prime:laugh:

Best custom ROMs for LG G4?

Hi, guys!
I saw there is already a thread about this, but it is quite outdated so I decided to start a new one. So since there would most probably NOT be an update to Nougat for our phones, I plan installing a custom rom, but since I am a newbie in this field I decided to ask for opinions. Honestly I am mostly attracted by the LineageOS 14.1/15 as successor of the CM, but there may be better options. I found some threads about LineageOS 15 been released but the link for our phones has been removed, reasons unknown. The 14.1 seems quite stable and with good reviews. But nevertheless please share your experience with any custom roms that you have, also please share whether G4 specific features like the double tap to lock/unlock the screen work with it?
If relevant I have a h815 model.
Thank you,
It is personal. You can ask that what do you use custom rom or why do you use LOS etc.
You will get more answers like this way.

On h815, there's an 8.1 rom (aoscp)
