Nougat root - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Is it possible to root p9 lite running nougat with an app called kingroot? I have used kingroot on many devices but it just seems too simple.

Why would you want some weird chinese app to root your device? Just flash supersu with twrp. Im sure there's at least 1 tutorial for that on the forum.

Ik, but they can be trusted. But I don't want some random Chinese app messing with my system

It's just generally way better to do these things manually, it's a delicate procedure and one bug in a one-click root app can permenantly damage your device, suck it up startup your Linux distro and use ADB/Fastboot

[ROOT] Root Mate 7 with SuperSU

Hi guys, I found a new method to have a fully functional root with SuperSU instead of Kingroot.
1- Download Kingroot 4.5 from https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/Kingroot_V4.5.0.722.apk?attredirects=0
2- Install app and root the phone with it
3- Install Super-Sume from Play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersume), open it and click on the button with the white android: the app removes all Kingroot apps and installs SuperSU.
4- Reboot and enjoy!
If Kingroot app is still present after reboot, just uninstall it by Titanium Backup or another uninstaller; you can also uninstall Super-Sume after the work is done!
SOME ADVICES (carefully pasted and adapted from Super-Sume app description........)
- This is the process that you MUST follow in order for this to be successful !!!
- Once your device is rooted with Kingroot install Super-Sume, do not install it prior !!
- If you have TEMP root OR are on Kingroot PRIOR TO 4.5 you will need to unroot your device first, re-root with KingRoot 4.5 and then install Super-Sume AFTER you are rooted and run it.
- If you are on KingRoot 4.5 or higher you should be all set to just install it and run it at any time after root.

in what sense supersu better than kingroot? sorry ya ..i just need to know the real reason because as i just need basic rooting only.

For b312 you just need to unlock your bootloader and instal custom recovery ... And then flash SuperSu with Flashify... Is that Easy...

Supersu is well known by all apps that need root: for example if you have Kingroot and open Titanium Backup it says that you'll may have problems with Kingroot...this not happens with Supersu.
Supersume uninstalls all apps installed by Kingroot, even Purify. If you don't like Purify, but you desire to keep root by Kinguser, you can uninstall it manually!

With my method you can keep the phone original without heavy modification such as recovery installation. However thanks mate!
Just to be clear, does this unlock the bootloader? Sorry for asking, but I'm a total n00b when it comes to things like this, and I really don't want to void my warranty while rooting

I'm new to the Huawei scene, only had the device for about 2 weeks, so this might be a very basic question .... does Huawei allow official automatic updates on rooted devices?
This is not possible on Samsungs for example, so was wondering how it works here before I root it
Thanks in advance for your help.

Rooting B370

I'm looking for a way to root B370. Anybody found a way to do this? Maybe somebody here has a base I could use to build TWRP and root this soft?

Hello, you can download the full version of the b370 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/how-to/emui4-0-1-p8-official-marshmallow-6-0-t3417212

It is as the same as it was. Look for the systemless root p8 thread. I did it yesterday.

@TheTechGuy96
It is not the same it was. You can root b370 systemless with SuperSU 2.66 for example - but it is not possible to root it with SuperSU 2.76. If you try this, the boot.img will be destroyed and you come to the Bootloader Rescue-Screen - see Atachement.
I found a way to root it, for the moment only described in German: http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/huawei-p8-b370-root-methoden.785657/#post-9928770 - later I will make a Thread here.
I wrote now also a Thread here on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/how-to/rooting-huawei-p8-marshmallow-emui4-0-1-t3431249
Thanks, I asked before the method was released

Download the zip file, unzip it, you will find a "dload" folder.
Put the folder on your sd card root, like sdcard1/dload.
Install this sd card to your phone.
Go to settings-system update-go to menu-local upate
select whether you want to backup or not, then proceed to update
I translate from Chinese guide, the specific words in your system may be different.

No u cant just flash a EU firmware and convert your phone. I know people have done it with Mate 8 and P9 so u can start by search there. There is a tool called SrkTool Huawei that can crossflash oeminfo so u can flash another firmware but no one has tested it on Honor 8 so if you want to be first be my gest here is a link to the tool and u can search on Mate 8 forum how to debrand your phone with this tool.

Use Huawei extractor for B317 and there you have it. There are 2 recoverys I dont know why, but "RECOVERY.img" is what you want.
