I've been willing to change rom for a while now but after digging a little, I haven't found anyone with the same build number of mine.
Also it says my system is the latest version and I cannot update.

it strange that your system doesn't show any update. You should be on 232 now (android 6.0). YOu can try to manually flash the complete rom through sptool or update manually one by one using the inbuilt updater.
Read Here

will this void my warranty?
and thanks a lot for the reply

Your ROM is intended for a specific Telco and more likely you will not receive any update unless your Telco will release the update. If you click system update it will always say it's the latest version. Same case with me here but I already updated to S232. Normally warranty will not be void if you flash using stock ROM. But if you unlock the bootloader the warranty will be void.

[LP][MM] Lenovo K4 Note STOCK Roms (S152) (S232 volte) by anshubham
- Since it was my first time to flash K4 Note, I flashed it with S152 from S102 without unlocking bootloader to preserve the warranty. Of course the FW became generic instead of the original with operator name in it. After I got S152 , I updated it via OTA, a series of updates until I got S232. I hope this helps.

If i install the UK fingerprint version here . Will the update still come to my phone? I see they have new updates now and oreo 8 is coming. Will i be able to install those from within the device or will i run into issues?
Also are there any issues using the UK rom over the US rom?
Also are there any better ways to enable the fingerprint sensor without install the UK version?
Does it also void warranty?
Thanks!
I'm in the US & I installed the UK ROM you link to above. It works as advertised. I wondered about receiving the update as well and read through the entire thread. It says you will be able to receive updates and you won't void your warranty since you are flashing official firmware. Of course that is just a post on an internet forum and carries no weight. Other than the warranty does it really matter? You can always update using Flashtool.
Yesterday I updated to 8.0 following this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/stock-8-0-root-recovery-t3747479 and now I have 8.0, my bootloader is unlocked, I have root, adaway, my phone passes safetynet, and most importantly it still works..
There are some subtle differences between N & O that have made it worthwhile. Sorry I can't be of more help, I can only share my positive experience.

if you unlocked your bootloader, while you might be if there is an update, you can't just download and apply it from phone. If you're only interested in major android upgrade, this won't be a problem as at most we probably will only got one more android major version update (or none, it will be close to two years after device release).
If you are interested on monthly security update though, this could be a pain to flash manually each month
So if i just install the UK via the xperia flash tool method here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/fingerprint-reader-version-flash-t3470154) , will i get OTA updates for security patches? Or do i have to manually do it every time?

Yes, you will receive updates as long as you do not tamper with the bootloader or recovery. If for some reason it doesn't work you can always use flashtool to apply an update. The convenience of the fingerprint reader working far outweighs the inconvenience of having to update a phone with a computer.
My F5321 from Malaysia isn't receiving any of the new updates. Last one was 34.4.A.2.32.
Could anyone explain why?
You can check xpericheck.com if there's a newer version, but there's a good chance there isn't one. I'm stuck on 34.4.A.2.50 on the Central Europe version for example, the newest one is .85

Customised MY isn't even listed. :/
What now? Unlocking bootloader if you want latest security patches?
Is there another firmware variant that would be suitable for your location? There may be less difference between the variants than you might expect.

According to xpericheck, singapore region firmware is also stuck in March. I guess both MY and SG are using the sme FW. I think you cn flsh other region FW without unlocking Bootloader.
Is there a way to flash security updates only, without upgrading to oreo?

If you want to retain the fingerprint sensor operation, don't flash to US. People here have in the past recommended either DE or UK, as they tend to be updated promptly. No unlocking of bootloader needed.
Okay guys. I'm ready to flash a new firmware, probably Customised UK. Is the guide on xperiablog up to date and accurate? Also, there is a flashtool by Androxyde on flashtool dot net, but there is also a flashtool on Sony Developer World. Which one should I use?
There is only one xperifirm so that's unambiguous, at least.
Edit: also, it doesn't affect user data or the OS in general, does it?
I can only speak from personal experience with the Androxyde flashtool. I've never tried (nor even known about) the Sony flash tool. In my experience, if you don't make any changes to the default settings, the existing user data is carried over into the newly installed firmware. I'm assuming here that you're flashing from one variant of Android 8.0 to another, not from Android 7 to 8, etc.
BTW, I would always advise backing up your data first, of course. If, for some reason, you are dissatisfied with the result, you can normally get a factory installation of your currently-installed firmware by using software restore from SONY (as part of Xperia Companion).
@pseudonym58 Thanks. Is the guide on Xperia blog the one to follow or is there a better one out there?
I don't recall which guide I used. It basically runs like this:
Run Xperiafirm from within flashtool; it will refresh available software. Choose particular phone model and download desired firmware. Back in flashtool proper, connect phone in flash mode. Select downloaded firmware, which is unpacked and prepared for flashing. As I mentioned above, you should not need to make any configuration changes to the default. Flashing can now begin (it might seem to pause temporarily from time to time but don't cancel process).
Don't worry about warnings of missing elements; I have never had a flashing procedure fail as a result of a claimed missing component.
This is just a general procedure; perhaps someone else can recommend the best full tutorial.
Ok so CE1 got the newest (.107) update right now so it can probably be used too.

92-14 is firmware for India and Brazil, 93-14 is for Europe,US and Asia Pacific.
It's possible to flash one over the other but you'll change your software channel and may not receive future OTA.
Better to wait for the 8.1 firmware for your region.
Losing IMEI,volte or 4g most likely only happens when you flash a 64 bit custom ROM.
To be on the safe side make a full nandroid backup incl. EFS and persist with latest TWRP 3.2.3.1

The name of the software channel doesn't change if you flash another firmware version so it's safe from that point of view.
The only thing that's changing is the fact that you don't receive any OTA updates anymore.
The screenshot of the op only shows that he once flashed a firmware that was meant to be used on a US or european device.

Hi everybody,
I'm new here, I have bought my first sony (used) but I notice that the LTE signal is so poor specially indoor. The seller hasn't saw me that the firmware is an UK fw also I live in italy, infact, after a little research, I noticed that there is a carrier's app called EE and the fw version installed is of EE carrier's. The phone is sim unlock. There isn't root and I haven't unlook the bootloader.
My questions are:
- Can I change the stock uk firmware putting in an Italian stock firmware?
- Can I change it without root and without unlook the bootloader?
- How?
- Is there a guide that I can follow?
- Can I change the CSC for preserve the ota upgrade? How? I'd like to change fw preserving OTA update.
I don't wanna unlock the bootloader and root the phone cause I don't want lose the DRM licenses (widevine specially). I'm not interested to rooting or make any modding.
I'd like to put a stock room without bloat apps and with a strong lte signal.
Here the Info about the phone:

No need for unlock as long as u have any offical fw (XperiFirm comes with Flashtool and downloads offical files)
But I may be wrong tho, this just came to my mind in the first moment

Since it's an official firmware, you always get updates OTA (i think XZ will no longer get updates but no need to worry). I didn't see any guide to flash, i'll probably today write a guide to flash firmwares.

I'm worried that I've permanently messed up my phone. I didn't make a backup of my stock firmware when I first flashed Lineage OS, and then I was having issues with that, so now I'm using the stock one again, but it's not official. I used fastboot to flash it and then flashed twrp and magisk. That should of been sufficient to factory reset it right? It just keeps having little problems that it didn't have before, like internet loading things slowly and bugs and crashing apps. The reason I switched off the Lineage OS rom is because it had little problems like that too. I just don't know what to do anymore.

What exactly are your problems? Check the thread of the custom ROM you installed and look for fixes there, maybe you installed an outdated version and your problems have been fixed in the updates. Good luck.

What do you mean with "stock but not official"?
Where did you get it from?
There are some sources for official firmwares signed by Motorola here on XDA so what makes you think the one you use isn't official?
If so that could be for sure the reason for problems for I have to say that I haven't seen unofficial stock ROMs except TWRP flashables (you said you flashed using fastboot so it can't be this) or debloated stock ROMs.

If you can flash the firmware by fastboot it's most likely an official signed firmware that was leaked. To be on the safe side use the firmware found here on XDA like this source:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
Just make sure to use the same firmware you we're on or a newer one that fits to your region.
I recommend to reflash the latest stock firmware, maybe something went wrong the first time.
And remember to always make a backup before you flash anything that could cause problems.
It the latest stock firmware different from the stock rom I flashed?
You can also try the repair function in Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant app.

Any firmware you'll find is leaked even the official ones. Motorola doesn't release any firmwares except the ones you can download with Lenovo Motorola Smart Assistant.

You can't take any system updates when you have TWRP installed!
For OTA you have to be on unrooted full stock ROM incl. stock recovery. This is a very important rule.
So you have to ways to handle this:
- Flash clean stock firmware and apply to the OTA afterwards (if you flash the latest firmware 17.4 you don't need the OTA anymore). You will loose your internal storage data or skip the "erase userdata" command.
Firmware from here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
- Take a TWRP flashable build but be aware that you can't take OTA updates at all in the future which is not needed as the firmwares are up to date.
