xposed install failed - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I'm on the ok2 bootloader and i tried to install xposed but it ended up failing and i got an error message how can i fix it

Are you rooted? If not flash the NB1 kernel in odin and then root with the towel root app. Then flash back to the OK2 kernel.

Correct root process?

I'm wanting to root my wife's S5 that is currently on MI2. I just want to check if I understand the correct order for the process:
Odin NCG kernel
Make it rain
Odin NI2 kernel
SuperSu
Busybox
Safestrap

[Q] stuck in boot loop installing updates

Ok so I did a idiotic thing... Did towel root on stock 4.4.2 G900VVRU1ANCG then before installing supersu or anything accidentally ran OTA (G900VVRU1ANE9)
Now phone keeps looping and installing updates...
It tries to boot normally then says booting recovery at top then starts installing updates again...
What to do now?

boot into download mode and reflash NCG. if that doesn't work because of the partially installed NE9 try flashing NE9 in Odin
Will I think I have it somewhat fixed... Just downloaded stock NCG and then extracted the system.img.ext4 and followed the guide from skipsoft using their toolkit to make the system.img.ext4 odin flashable.
Flashed only the NCG system.img back to phone and that worked.
Now phone is operational and all apps etc still there but I have build and kernel NCG but baseband is NE9
So now if I root on build NCG then try to OTA to NE9 how do I avoid boot loop this time? Will Supersu allow me to OTA and is there a method to keep root? ( I know how to flash the kernels and re-root --- I'd like to just keep root if possible.)

flash the full NE9 in Odin, then flash the NCG kernel, root, then flash the NE9 kernel.

lmao.. you did all that for no reason.. all the odin roms, kernels and modems are all available already..
You flashed ne9 kernel/rom so you need to flash ne9 modem/baseband..
For future reference, its easier to start on ncg root install ss.. then flash rom.zip of choice and flash the odin firmware for it.. its real easy and u can go from ncg to nk for example without worrying about an ota

My S5 came with 5.0, I want to root & rom. Do I have the proccess right?

I already tried factory reset via recovery menu. Kept me on 5.0.
1. Use ODIN 3.09 to install a stock 4.42 rom. I downloaded G900VVRU1ANE9_G900VVZW1ANE9_Home_VZW. (Samsung had to be prickly and remove the stock firmware from their site so I'm not positive I got the correct ROM)
2. Use Towelroot to root.
3. Safestrap.
4. Install a ROM.
Finally, I've been outta the game a little while ... Can I run a Kitkat Rom (Carbon) and a Lolipop Rom (Alliance) from the same setup? That is, can I just run safestrap and switch from stock Kitkat to Carbon to Lolipop at a whim, or do I need to do some kernel flashing or other stuff?

You have to downgrade to NGC, not NE9 to root. Find the full Odin tar here.

Root with towelroot
Download SuperSU from play store. Update the binaries and reboot.
Download and install busybox from play store
Install safestrap.

Thanks.
And that's the "full" NGC right?

That is right. About 1.8 GB
cant use carbon rom or any stock android builds. Must use a T-Wiz rom.

Upgraded to NK7 from NK2. Lost root.

Hello
Last night, I accidentally pressed OTA update button, so my phone got upgraded to NK7 from NK2.
When I had NK2, I followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784880 to have root on NK2 before.
Now I have NK7, lost root, still KitKat 4.4.4(not lollipop), but have no idea how to downgrade back to NK2 w/ root or keep NK7 w/ root.
So, my question is,
How do I get back to NK2 w/ root OR keep NK7 w/ root?
I don't want to lose my data on my phone.
Is there any way to do this without flashing it back to stock NK2?
Thank you in advance.
Install towelroot and supersu first. Then, flash the NCG kernel. When you reboot, ignore the force closing apps and run towelroot. Then run supersu and let it install itself and disable knox. Reboot, flash NK7 kernel.
If you are using kitkat, please use safestrap and spare yourself the trouble.
Also on nk7. Really no desire to go to Lollipop just to enable wifi tether.
Is there a link to safe sources of the kernals needed?

ROOT question!!

Ok say i have kitkat 4.4.4 and cannot update to lolipop via System Update because my root was messed up due to earlier update. I want to know if i can update to lolipop using Odin and obtain a root for it. i am on stock kernel now with root and i was wondering if it will work before i flash back to 4.4.
If you use odin to flash you will loose root and any custom recovery you have installed so you will have to reroot etc after upgrade.
