So I'm a total noob, first rooted android device. Successfully rooted, but now there is an update and I have no idea how to get it. Won't work through the device, no surprise, but how do I update my device with twrp or what? US wifi version.

Long time android user here, I bought the P8lite ALE-L21 a month ago, and have been thoroughly enjoying my experience with the phone so far. When I purchased the phone, it had (and currently does have) the Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM build B183 preloaded into it. I have since unlocked the phones bootloader and rooted it, as per the course with new android phones
I've read numerous threads here regarding the upgrade to the Marshmallow beta, and have been stumped as to how to get the darn ROM flashed to my device.
I've tried using the EMUI manual updater to flash B188 over as a stepping stone to the beta, and also tried updating straight to the beta to no avail.
I'm thinking that I may have to downgrade in an attempt to get B188 on there, but I'm unsure as to which build to flash.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello I got p8 lite l21. I got question why I gotta update my phone manually? I am not getting any updates via OTA. Phone is neither branded nor rooted.
I have one of the Huawei FUT Ascend XT devices that is stuck on B142. These devices are unable to have the bootloader unlocked either. I am looking to get up to the newest OTA though as a backup device. Does anyone have the stock files they can share so I can update the device? Thanks

I have rooted my p10 plus with TWRP + SuperSU. The EMU System Update wants to update the phone with B162. I haven't updated yet because I'm not sure it'll work with a rooted phone.
What is the recommended way to update a rooted p10 plus?

So recently huawei released android oreo on the p10 lite and i want to get the ota update but i rooted my phone so i searched online how to install ota updates on a rooted phone and i clicked on the first guide available in there it said that i could use flashfire to install ota updates and sure i installed flashfire and opened in and the first thing i see is a warning along these lines : Warning for huawei devices it is really easy to hard brick huawei devices by installing custom roms and frimwares and it is strongly advised against unless you consult with an expert. I do understand this is an ota update and is not a custom rom or firmware but i am still very worried as i dont have cash to get a new phone if i hard brick this one. Thanks in advance!

You can't flash the firmware in flashfire or you will brick your device.
Try upgrade your device using this method.

I've never seen this method shouldn't i just flash the original recovery through fastboot and perform the ota update and then re-root my phone?
