Ei.. any fix for this?
i BELIEVE this is part of Samsung's "business strategy".. i was resolve this using the Samsung Service Mode apk (which I cracked and patched :highfive, however i have another issue related to this (see attached pic)!
In this case...may i ask if anyone from XDA knows the secret code for the UMTS Menu for me to access the Network Unlock menu???

Hi XDA Peeps!
I was able to unlock my i9505!
I just did the following steps:
1. Dial *#0011# via Phone Utility apk [Phone Connectivity Status will appear (via Service Mode)];
2. Tap on the left soft key (LSK) and select Key Input > Enter 1 > Hit OK;
3. Tap on the LSK and select BACK [You're now just a few steps away!];
4. Tap on the LSK and select Key Input > Enter 1 > Hit OK [Your screen shall have a different output now (i.e., a single digit "1" on line 1)];
5. WAIT for 5 seconds until the UMTS MAIN MENU appears > Select Debug Screen > Select Phone Control > Select Network Lock;
6. Next, tap on: [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF;
7. From here, go back to the UMTS MAIN MENU by tapping on Menu (left soft key on SGS4) and selecting Back from the options;
8. Once you are in the UMTS menu, tap on: [6]COMMON;
9. There, select: [6]NV REBUILD;
10. Now in the NV Rebuild menu, tap on: [4] Restore Back-up;
11. Samsung Galaxy S4 will now go into a temporary freezing state. After a while you’ll see some activities. The screen will be black and the LED will turn Blue. The Menu and Back key button on phone will also light;
12. Lastly, your Samsung Galaxy S4 will reboot automatically and will take a minute or two in booting up (depending on your ROM's Boot Animation);
BOOM! Your Galaxy S4 GT i9505 is now SIM-unlocked! Try a SIM card from another carrier to confirm the process and do not forget to share this to your friends too!

Hi.
I have just brought from China a G9009D Dual Sim Galaxy S5 and just now I realized that it has a "China Use Only Sim Slot - CDMA".
I am from Brazil and I was wishing to use 2 different numbers on it (3G).
Is anyone researching if there a way to change this? I.e: Make both Sim card slots 3G and Quadband?
Thank you!
Anyone can help?

You probably can't do that. Only one slot is GSM, the other is CDMA. You'd need a different model to support two GSM numbers.. the sm-900fd duos appears to have dual GSM SIM slots.
In any event, there is a thread that collates all of the information on the Chinese model that you have. Do a search and look for details there. You'd also find a better audience for your model as the people in that thread have the same goals and model as you.
.
I unlocked my s5 sm-g9009d
Here is the solution
1- In the dial pad, enter "* # 0011 #", will enter ServiceMode interface (if no response, just wait a while and try again)
2- Click on the top right corner of the three-point menu, press Click "Back", then click on menu, select "Key Input", enter a capital Q, point "OK", and then point to the menu, select "Key Input", enter "000000", click "OK".
3- patiently waiting for 5-10 seconds, will enter the "Main Menu" menu, click "[2] UE SETTINGS & INFO", "[1] SETTING", "[1] PROTOCOL", "[3] CDMA" , "[9] CTC SIM LOCK", "[1] SIM Lock", "[2] Disable SIM Lock is"
4- when you see the future "SIM Lock is Disabled", turn off the phone, insert your UIM in slot one.
It should work now

I have note 3 SM-N9005 (4.4.2 ) with
base band = unknown
imei = null/null
since all other options to restore failed i have to use toolbox BST dongle. (or SPT)
It requires you to enter *#9090# service mode and then select
dm/dnu over hsci
The problem is *#9090# brings up blank screen. selection key brings up a menu.
It should in bring the menu like so:
DIAG CONFIG
[1]DM/DUM over HS-USB[]
[2]DM/DUM over HSIC[]
[3]DM/DUN/RmNET over HSUSB[]
[4]DM over UART(*)
[5]DBG MSG ON(*)
[6]DBG MSG OFF(*).
How can i make the blank screen produce this menu.

On my own phone (N9005, stock firmware) it also shows DIAG CONFIG NOT SUPPORTED.
You can try out other Service Menu using other codes:
- SysDump: *#9900#
- Service Mode, Main Menu: *#27663368378#
- Service Mode, Debug Screen: *#197328640#
If you have difficulty launching these codes, you can use 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app --> go to 'Secret Codes' menu, or use 'Shortcut Master' app --> go to 'Secret Code Explorer' menu to launch these secret codes (ROOT is required).
And if you're not rooted, don't bother. Samsung disabled Service Menu access for many devices, amongst which the Note 3.

Before hand i am very sorry that I bump an old thread however, this pertains to this and i can't find any info on my current issue and following you has got me the farthest along with my problem.
My galaxy note 4 reads no service, so I tried the *#0011# approach (no root) could not find the menu, with the input method
Then I rooted it and used your app and was now able to access the menu.
However I still can not find the run ping test option.
My firmware is version 5.1.1
Model: SM-N910T
